I really like the auto-generated agenda and the way the AI features are used. It definitely saves me a lot of time when I’m trying to figure out how to word things and where to place them. Ability to quickly create a meeting agenda using many types of formats without converting to PDF's such as Excel, Word, Power Point and PDF documents. Ability to drag and drop or upload many documents at once. It is easy to use, flexible and compatible to any meeting type. Customer support is terrific, very responsive and timely. The inability to create hyperlinks within the book is a disadvantage. It would be nice if it would accept .jpg or .tif document types. I like how user friendly and easy BoardEffect is to navigate. It’s multifunctional, and I can usually find what I need with a few clicks. It’s accessible and simple to use, and it can hold a lot of information. New members usually don’t need a tutorial beyond knowing where things are. I think the interface changes have made it easier to use, and the functions are still there and have only improved. It’s good to know meeting package templates and AI functions are available, even though I haven’t used them yet. I’d like to try the templates to make my work simpler and more manageable. The interface and website changes were delayed after we were given several timelines, which was frustrating when we were telling our members to expect them. I’d like BoardEffect to communicate timelines and stick to them. I hope there aren’t changes every year, though the changes were fine once they went through. BoardEffect has become an important governance tool because it's cost efficient, centralises Board operations, improves security, enhances document management and provides directors with a professional, efficient way to access meeting information. It performs consistently snd the staff are always available to help. Its greatest strengths are governance, organisation and ease of use. The biggest opportunity for future development lies in expanding AI-driven features and deeper integrations with enterprise productivity tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Overall, I've had a very positive experience with BoardEffect, but there are a few areas that could be improved.

My biggest frustration is the messaging functionality within Meeting Rooms. Once a message or email is sent through the platform, there isn't an easy way to revisit that communication later from within BoardEffect itself. Instead, I have to search my email inbox to find what was sent. Having a dedicated message history or communications log within each meeting or workspace would make it much easier to track discussions and maintain a complete governance record.

I would also like to see stronger AI capabilities, such as intelligent meeting summaries, action item tracking, document comparison, and more powerful search across board materials. Deeper integrations with Microsoft 365 and Outlook would further improve productivity by reducing the need to switch between applications.

The interface is extremely user-friendlyand makes pulling board materials very easy. BoardEffect serves as a safe, secure database for our board-related materials, which makes it so easy to refer back to past documents. Also, the customer service is STELLAR. I like its Performance - how everything is in one spot for our volunteers, Onboarding - easy to onboard everyone at once with a short video on how to use it, UI - easy to navigate and find everything. Though, some learning curve is needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

While I think BoardEffect has a lot of helpful features, some of them could be streamlined or upgraded. For example, with the agenda, there’s currently only one template. Our agenda looks different from yours, so I’d like options to choose a template that better matches our look and feel.

In the Minutes Module, while it’s very helpful that you can adapt the agenda into the minutes, the process is still cumbersome and requires a lot of manual work. Ideally, I’d want it to take the agenda (including its numbering) and directly import or replicate it into the minutes. Right now, I don’t use the minutes module for that reason.

For polls or surveys, when sending a survey or poll to members, it doesn’t give you an option to include a clickable link. Instead, you have to spell out the navigation path for them to find it (Board - Collaborate - Poll - July). When the meeting packages are ready, the link is there, it would be helpful to add the survey and poll links too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

When you need to replace a file in the library with a revised version, you have to delete it and then add the revised version. I'd like to be able to "replace" it - one action instead of two. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

BoardEffect is mostly user friendly for external users with little training. Which is very important in saving troublishooting time. It is visually appealing and pretty easy to teach other administrators. The support is very timely Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Sometimes when making the meeting book the agenda items are not flexible to move around. The new interface has improved this greatly. The multi authentication seems to be the hardest part for most people and it grinds my gears but i don't think that is a boardeffect issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It would be helpful if it could generate an agenda from an agenda that’s already been prepared, and then sort the attachments in the same order as the agenda. That way, you could potentially just move a folder into the Board Effect software and have it automatically create the document, including the agenda and the title page.
