The platform has allowed us to streamline scheduling, communications, voting, and acts as a single source of truth for questions. It provides a place for new board members to locate historical information. It has reduced the "coversation by e-mail" that made many people feel behind on the discussion and overwhelmed. Pia who was our implementation advisor, was a great trainer, and made setting it up seemless. The ability to login to one place, and see everything has been transformational. Board members login often, and we use the system daily to support our governance and administration functions. It has easily integrated with our existing tools, including zoom for hybrid meetings. The ability to edit documents on the fly when pulling together a meeting book is also a great tool. **What do you dislike about BoardEffect?** If you're not an active board, and not sophisticated enough to use all the features, it may seem expensive, however the longer we utilize the platform, we recognize that it is worth the investment. **What problems is BoardEffect solving and how is that benefiting you?** Before BoardEffect, we had e-mail after e-mail, different version of minutes and agendas, lack of one source of truth for all decisions and discussions, and a challenging environment for collaboration in our boards. Now, all of these things happen in a single place, where all members recieve the same information, questions, and comments at the same time from the same place. New members are immediately included, no need to update contact lists. The platform is pretty user friendly (video tutorials are helpful) and allows us to easily create, distribute and manage board meetings and materials. Utilizing Board Effect will help to reduce the time that we spend on adminstrative tasks, enabling us to focus more on the strategic discussions that matter most. The ability to securely share documents and communicate within the platform to enhance collaboration is a also a game changer. Allowing our Board members to access all Board matters and documents digitally through their tablets, we can greatly reduce our paper consumption and be become more "green." Great software and support staff- Highly recommend. **What do you dislike about BoardEffect?** So far so good...the only recommendation would be to make the videos more engaging. The narrator is pretty monotone and not very engaging. Other than that, I don't have any complaints. **What problems is BoardEffect solving and how is that benefiting you?** EAsily create meetings and distribute materials for the Committees throughout the year. Very difficult for board members to learn to use. Constantly logging you out of minutes because minutes are not housed within the platform. Publishing meetings was a nightmare because it made it impossible to make quick changes. Long and non-intuitive trainings when onboarding. No signs of making updates or changes when an issue was brought to their attention. Signing documents was a nightmare. Going to one place, a porta,l helps keep the meeting materials secure and private. Board Directors can make annotations for the rest of the board and or the chair or staff members to read and easily comment back or clarify. It helps keep the packages and questions related to the package in one place and easily address. My contact person is Amy and she is AMAZING and helpful! Never has she not known the answers to my sometimes silly questions! The online support is also Amazing! You have a great support team. **What do you dislike about BoardEffect?** The one thing I dislike the most is the licence limits. If ever there was a way for the Board of Directors and internal staff to share licenses that will be helpful! For my organization in particular, as we are a not for profit, I find the Sales Teams not flexible with pricing for adding licenses even if 1-2. Altogether, the implementation of BoardEffect improves board mechanisms in our organization, and they become much more efficient and streamlined. **What do you dislike about BoardEffect?** BoardEffect’s biggest disadvantage is that it experiences technical difficulties from time to time even at sometimes that are vital. There is congestion in the sharing of information due to slow document upload. One disadvantage of the crossover design is that the number of features is enormous, which presents some difficulties during implementation. I honestly don't know if I could have figured out how to use all of the features without staff support. They were helpful and could answer all of my questions. **What do you dislike about BoardEffect?** I think the platform is quite complicated if you don't have support from BE staff or really dig into the tutorials on their website. It is a difficult platform for older board members who aren't up to date in their tech knowledge. **What problems is BoardEffect solving and how is that benefiting you?** It solves the problem of documents being all over the place. As a remote organization it was difficult to keep track of the board documents from one year to the next. I wish it were easier for older folks in the workforce to use. But now, I understand how it works, and how to access different areas. At the moment, we have the files in BoardEffect, but then we also have to remember to store files in the sharepoint or OneDrive.
