Question on: ProdPerfect
What do your end-to-end tests actually test for?
Our tests traverse your application in the same way that your users do, but in staging or other pre-prod environment. Our tests expect to be able to fully traverse the same flow, and receive the same application returns that users do in production. For all data that is entered into the application during the test, we expect that data or its transformations to be returned on the DOM consistently. We also expect the application to not throw Javascript or other common types of errors. If these conditions are not met, or the application throws an error during the traversal, our tests will fail. This kind of testing is often called User Acceptance Testing, Functional Testing, or (loosely) Selenium Testing.

Question on: ProdPerfect
What do your bug reports look like?
You automatically receive standard error output from the testing suite through your CI. In addition, the testrunner automatically sends screenshots of the broken step and video of every successful run, every failure, and the previous successful run of a broken test to a web portal that gets linked through CI on every test run for rapid triage. As our Delivery Engineers investigate the bug, we will add additional detail by hand through Slack or another integrated communication channel.

Question on: TestRail
What is TestRail?
TestRail is a tool for managing the software testing process from start to finish. Simply put, you can use TestRail to:
(1) Document your test cases. Organize test cases into test suites.
(2) Create a test run. You'll use this to capture the results of a single round of testing.
(3) Create test plans to schedule a test run with different configurations and platforms
(3) Assign test runs to specific testers for execution.
(4) Enter the results of manual testing in real-time, or capture test results from an integrated test automation tool like Ranorex Studio.
(5) Produce reports on the status and progress of your testing efforts.
TestRail is very flexible, so it works for both small and large teams, and for all types of testing including exploratory sessions and automated testing.
