[What's the best SMS marketing platform for brands building a dedicated customer communication channel from scratch?](/discussions/what-s-the-best-sms-marketing-platform-for-brands-building-a-dedicated-customer-communication-channel-from-scratch)

What's the best SMS marketing platform for brands building a dedicated customer communication channel from scratch? Starting from zero with SMS is a different challenge than migrating an existing list. You need subscriber growth tools, a sensible onboarding flow, and a platform that doesn't price you out before you've proven the channel works.

We're exploring what platforms make the early phase less painful. What we're hoping to find:

- Subscriber list-building tools that don't require a development team
- Automation that works even with a small list so value is visible early
- Pricing that scales with growth rather than charging enterprise rates upfront

From the [SMS marketing software](https://www.g2.com/categories/sms-marketing) category:

- [**SlickText**](https://www.g2.com/products/slicktext/reviews): Keyword campaigns let subscribers opt in by texting a word, which small business reviewers describe as the simplest list-building mechanic they've found. Setup is straightforward and doesn't require a developer. The plan pricing scales with contact volume rather than charging a flat enterprise rate.
- [**Textedly**](https://www.g2.com/products/textedly/reviews): Reviewers building a channel for the first time describe it as easy to get the first campaign out the door. The interface is simple enough that a solo marketer can run it without training, and the cost stays manageable at lower volumes.
- [**Attentive**](https://www.g2.com/products/attentive/reviews): Better suited for brands with some existing customer base to build from. Reviewers credit the sign-up units for growing lists faster than other tools, but the platform's depth makes more sense once the channel is established.
- [**Omnisend**](https://www.g2.com/products/omnisend/reviews): Worth considering if email is already part of the mix. Building SMS alongside an existing email list means the channel starts with an engaged audience rather than from zero.

If you've built an SMS channel from scratch, what was the hardest part? Getting the first subscribers, or figuring out what to actually send them?

Starting from zero with SMS is such a different challenge from migrating an existing list and I feel like most platform comparisons don't separate those two scenarios at all. The list-building tools matter as much as the campaign tools when you're starting from nothing.

[What's the best SMS marketing software that integrates with Shopify, Klaviyo and HubSpot without needing a developer?](/discussions/what-s-the-best-sms-marketing-software-that-integrates-with-shopify-klaviyo-and-hubspot-without-needing-a-developer)

Putting together a comparison of SMS tools for ecommerce and marketing teams, and the integration question keeps coming up. The ideal scenario is a platform that connects cleanly to Shopify, Klaviyo, and HubSpot without custom dev work. In reality, some tools require middleware, some break on certain plan tiers, and some need a Zapier chain that falls apart the moment something changes upstream.

In the [SMS marketing software](https://www.g2.com/categories/sms-marketing) category, these platforms come up most for this kind of stack integration:

1. [**Attentive**](https://www.g2.com/products/attentive/reviews): Shopify integration is consistently called out as smooth. Reviewers describe it syncing with Shopify customer data well enough to support abandoned cart flows and post-purchase sequences without extra setup. One reviewer specifically mentioned the integration list as a deciding factor.
2. [**Klaviyo**](https://www.g2.com/products/klaviyo/reviews): Reviewers describe 400-plus native integrations and strong Shopify data sync as core to why they chose it. The segmentation draws directly from Shopify behavioral data, so abandoned cart, purchase frequency, and product-level targeting all work without manual data mapping.
3. [**SlickText**](https://www.g2.com/products/slicktext/reviews): Gets flagged for having more native integrations than most SMS platforms. HubSpot, Shopify, Mailchimp, Salesforce, and others connect without Zapier. Small business reviewers specifically mention setup as something they handled themselves in an afternoon.
4. [**Omnisend**](https://www.g2.com/products/omnisend/reviews): Built around ecommerce integrations from the start. Reviewers describe the Shopify sync as one of the cleaner ones in this category, and the fact that email and SMS live in the same platform removes one integration point entirely.
5. [**Textedly**](https://www.g2.com/products/textedly/reviews): Gets mentioned for its straightforward Zapier and direct integrations. Reviewers who use HubSpot alongside Textedly describe the setup as something marketing teams handle without involving IT.

For teams managing this kind of stack, where does the integration usually break? Is it the initial connection, keeping data in sync, or something that only surfaces when you scale?

The no-developer requirement is the thing I'd want to test properly before committing, especially across all three tools at once. Native integrations that stay reliable as your stack changes are worth asking about specifically during evaluation.

[What's the best SMS marketing software that combines TCPA compliance tools with strong audience segmentation in one platform?](/discussions/what-s-the-best-sms-marketing-software-that-combines-tcpa-compliance-tools-with-strong-audience-segmentation-in-one-platform)

What's the best SMS marketing software that combines TCPA compliance tools with strong audience segmentation in one platform? Compliance and segmentation are usually treated as separate problems, but they're actually the same problem. If your list isn't properly segmented, you end up sending to people who didn't opt in correctly, and that's where TCPA exposure starts.

We're researching how teams handle both at once without managing two separate toolsets. What we're hoping to find:

- Opt-in capture that's built into the platform, not bolted on
- Suppression lists and consent records that update automatically
- Segmentation filters that map to compliance states, not just engagement

From the [SMS marketing software](https://www.g2.com/categories/sms-marketing) category:

- [**Attentive**](https://www.g2.com/products/attentive/reviews) **:** Reviewers describe the sign-up unit tools as one of its clearest strengths. Getting compliant opt-ins from website visitors is possible without custom development, and the consent data remains attached to the contact profile. Enterprise teams specifically mention it for audit-readiness.
- [**Klaviyo**](https://www.g2.com/products/klaviyo/reviews) **:** The segmentation is tightly linked to consent and engagement states. Reviewers who've used it for ecommerce describe being able to build segments around purchase history, opt-in source, and activity level simultaneously. The compliance side tracks alongside the behavioral side.
- [**Omnisend**](https://www.g2.com/products/omnisend/reviews) **:** Reviewers call out the list hygiene automation that automatically moves unengaged or unconsented contacts to suppression. For e-commerce brands managing large lists across channels, automatic upkeep matters a lot.

If you've handled TCPA audits before, what was the part that required the most manual work to prove compliance?

I hadn't thought about compliance and segmentation as the same problem before but it makes complete sense. A messy list where opt-in status isn't properly tracked is where TCPA exposure actually starts.
