Textedly was the one that let our one-person marketing team get campaigns out the door without needing anyone technical involved, and that ease of setup is honestly what made us stick with it rather than shopping around once we were up and running.

SlickText and Textedly come up here because the feature set actually matches what a solo marketer can operate. You're not paying for complexity built for an SMS team managing enterprise compliance. That matters more at this scale than it does for big companies that can absorb the overhead.

Podium being in this list is a useful inclusion, because for a local or service business the marketing channel and the customer conversation are genuinely the same thing. Review requests, appointment reminders and promotions going out from one number is a different shape of problem from ecommerce campaign sending, and it's worth naming that those two use cases shouldn't be judged on the same criteria. On the ecommerce side, Omnisend bundling email and SMS is usually the version of this that makes the budget work at small list sizes.

The pricing structure question is worth thinking through early, especially if you're in a growth phase. Modelling out what costs look like at a higher contact volume before you sign up saves a lot of friction later.
