As someone who actively uses SEO tools, I've been reflecting on whether Ahrefs is still the best option in 2024—especially with its pricing increases and growing competition. 💰 Pricing Breakdown: Starter Plan: $108/month (~$1,200/year)—ideal for small businesses. Advanced Plans: $2,400 to $14,990 per year—geared toward agencies and enterprises. Some G2 users feel that Ahrefs is becoming too expensive, while others believe that its deep SEO insights still justify the cost. What G2 Users Love About Ahrefs: ✅ Accurate backlink data – One of the most extensive and reliable backlink databases. ✅ User-friendly interface – Despite its power, it's still intuitive. ✅ Comprehensive keyword research tools – Great for competitive analysis. Potential Drawbacks: ❌ Pricing concerns – Many users worry about continued price increases. ❌ Limited free tools – Some expected more from its free version. ❌ Learning curve for beginners – While intuitive, it still takes time to master. 77% of G2 reviewers gave Ahrefs a 5-star rating, which is a strong vote of confidence. However, some marketers argue that alternatives like SEMrush, Moz, or even more affordable options like Ubersuggest offer similar features at a lower price. If you're currently using Ahrefs, do you feel it's still worth the investment? Have you considered switching to another SEO tool? If so, which one? Would love to hear your thoughts—especially from those who have compared Ahrefs with other tools! Read the full article here: https://learn.g2.com/is-ahrefs-worth-it
I see there are multiple tools listed on G2, but it's hard to pick and choose from the list. Thus, looking for inputs from the community that can help me. Here's what I am looking for in an SEO tool:
All-in-one features: Beyond keyword research, I want tools that also handle site audits, backlink analysis, on-page optimization, and rank tracking.
Smart keyword insights: Tools should show keyword difficulty, search volume, and content gaps—and offer clear tips to improve SEO performance.
User-friendly design: A clean, intuitive interface saves time. I value simple dashboards and smooth navigation over flashy extras.
Reliable data: Accuracy is non-negotiable. I prefer tools that pull from trusted sources like Google Search Console.
Competitor analysis: Understanding what’s working for competitors helps me refine my own strategy.
Actionable reporting: I want quick, digestible insights—not just data dumps.
Rank tracking: Tracking keyword performance over time (locally and globally) is key to measuring SEO impact.
I would say that the best SEO tool is Google Search Console. It provides SEOs and webmasters with data-rich insights into the queries that drive users to their website, along with good performance data on a page and domain-level.
