PromptSafe Legal

PromptSafe Legal is a PDF redaction and document preparation tool designed for paralegals and litigation teams preparing filings for federal court. It automatically detects sensitive information in legal documents — including Social Security numbers, tax IDs, dates of birth, financial account numbers, names, email addresses, phone numbers, and physical addresses — and allows reviewers to permanently remove them before filing. Unlike traditional redaction tools that simply place black boxes over text, PromptSafe performs true irreversible redaction, permanently removing the underlying content from the PDF. Once applied, the information cannot be copied, recovered, or extracted from the document. This helps prevent accidental disclosure of protected information when documents are filed through CM/ECF and become part of the public PACER record. PromptSafe Legal assists with FRCP 5.2 privacy compliance by automatically flagging sensitive information for review. Users can accept suggested redactions, reject them, or manually highlight additional content that should be removed. The detection engine acts as a starting point — final review and control always remain with the user. All processing runs locally on your device. Files are never uploaded to any server, helping preserve confidentiality and attorney-client privilege. For audit and verification purposes, PromptSafe Legal generates a redaction certificate for each processed document. The certificate records the redaction actions performed and includes a SHA-256 integrity hash of the final PDF, allowing teams to verify that the document has not been altered after redaction. PromptSafe Legal is part of a small set of legal document utilities designed for federal court workflows. Additional tools include FRCP Checker, which scans PDFs for FRCP 5.2 compliance issues before filing, and Exhibits Builder, which generates exhibit separator pages and applies Bates numbering to document bundles. Key Capabilities Automatic detection of FRCP 5.2 protected categories plus names, emails, phone numbers, and addresses True irreversible redaction that permanently removes underlying text Manual highlight and redaction for sensitive information not automatically detected OCR support for scanned PDFs Redaction certificate with SHA-256 file integrity verification FRCP 5.2 pre-filing compliance scanning Exhibit separator generation and Bates numbering Fully local processing — no file uploads and no server contact

How it works

RecordBeacon

RecordBeacon is document review and redaction software for managing large-scale legal document sets with human oversight. It identifies names, account numbers, medical details, and privileged content using pattern matching, proprietary detection models, and deep content analysis. Flagged items display detection reasons and require human approval, rejection, or manual redaction. No content is redacted automatically, and documents cannot be released until flagged items are addressed. The platform supports PDFs, Word documents, emails, scans, photos, video, and audio files, with chain of custody tracking. Scanned images are optically read, while handwritten content undergoes manual review. Redactions are burned into copies while preserving originals. Actions are logged with timestamps and user attribution. Data remains encrypted, with no external AI training or retention. Single-tenant hosting is available, and a free Bates stamping tool is included.

ThoughtRiver

ThoughtRiver is an AI-powered platform for reviewing and negotiating contracts more quickly and with greater precision. Billions of dollars are spent every year on making sales teams more efficient, but those dollars don't yet reach the most important and least optimized stage of the sales process, the contracting stage. This is where the real deal is done, and right now far too many deals get "stuck in legal". ThoughtRiver is fixing this with its contract acceleration platform that uses AI to help the user to effectively review a legal contract, create a detailed list of issues, then organize and manage those issues to resolution in a fraction of the time taken to do this same task manually. ThoughtRiver drives deal velocity.
