Good domain registrar, portal looks a little dated, but gives you full control.

Ease of use. Purchasing a domain is a relatively simple process and once purchased, there is a range of tools to help manage the domain from the dashboard. There is a wealth of support documentation available too, which means you can generally find the answer to most questions - particularly concerning DNS records and entry formats/types. It's easy to transfer a domain into the account - particularly from another 123-reg account.

123 Reg make it very easy to search, find and purchase domains and they also make it very easy for you to chose the length of contract time and easly shows you the amount each lenght of time costs. Their checkout process is very simple and the options are easy to manage. I like that you can purchase multiple domains in a single transaction and update existing domains by adding them to your basket.
