Exceptional Hardware Flexibility: The support for multiple player types—including Android, Raspberry Pi, and Web players—is a massive advantage. We currently use the Android player to stream our patient education, treatment highlights, and clinic awards directly to the waiting area TV, and the performance has been rock-solid.

Highly Responsive Support: In the two instances where I needed technical assistance, their team was incredibly fast to respond with functional workarounds. Knowing that there is an agile, technically-competent support team behind the product gives me a lot of confidence in the platform.

Remote Management & Automation: The ability to push updates to our screens instantly from my laptop—without ever needing to touch a USB stick or walk into the clinic—is a huge time-saver. While the platform is robust, I did encounter a few technical friction points that required manual intervention:

Third-Party Video Stability: I faced consistent issues when trying to pull video playback directly from YouTube and Vimeo. The streams would occasionally fail or stutter, which isn't ideal for a professional waiting area. My workaround was to download the files and upload them directly to the Yodeck cloud. While this solved the issue completely, it added an extra step to the workflow that I’d prefer to see automated more reliably.

Initial Learning Curve: The dashboard is incredibly feature-rich, but that can make it feel a bit "clunky" or overwhelming at first. For advanced layouts, there’s a definite learning curve before you can get things exactly right.

If I had a point out a drawback it would be that some of the more creative design options feel slightly limited compared to dedicated design software. While it covers most business needs users looking for highly customised animation might find it somewhat basic. A few additional advanced layout controls would make it even stronger. The editor is not very responsive and tends to lead to errors. Some features are very rigid, and the new version with layers is not user-friendly (it constantly forces you to open and close windows) and cannot be resized, obstructing the view of part of the layout. After the latest update, it no longer supports Firefox.

I love that Yodeck has been consistent. They have improved the control panel and UI/UX of their service over the years, and they've done that with little to no pain points for me. We’ve had a Chromebit for some time, and it worked great. However, the technology is now out of date, so we needed a more up-to-date digital signage stick. Once we got our new digital signage stick, we also needed a CMS to partner with the device.

YoDeck was easy to set up, and it was straightforward to implement our solution. We’re a small boarding school, and we’re using just one screen as our announcement board. The ability to edit and update our presentation and webpages has made this a very welcome addition to our fleet of devices.
