## About Workyard
Workyard is a complete time tracking and job management software designed specifically for construction and field service teams. Using an intuitive mobile app, crews can clock in and out with GPS verification, giving managers real-time visibility into work hours and job site activity. Workyard’s GPS ensures every timesheet is accurate and audit-ready, while its built-in scheduling tools make it easy to assign work, share project updates, and communicate with crews on the go. Beyond tracking time, Workyard helps control labor costs by tagging hours to specific jobs or cost codes and generating up-to-date reports. You can monitor labor spending as projects progress, identify cost overruns early, and streamline payroll by exporting clean, verified timesheets to payroll and accounting systems like QuickBooks, ADP, Sage, Gusto, and more. Built‑in labor compliance tools let you automatically enforce breaks, track overtime, and deliver attestation prompts at clock‑out. Smart Forms let crews complete safety checks, inspections and daily logs—and every submission is time‑stamped, auditable, and stored securely. Workyard brings all aspects of field workforce management together in a single, easy-to-use platform built to handle the fast pace of construction work.

## Workyard Reviews
  ### 1. Effortless Shift Management with Reliable Geofencing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rushdi K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Workyard?**

I find Workyard incredibly useful for managing employee shifts, particularly appreciating how it helps with approving shifts and solving problems related to clocking in and out. The geofencing feature ensures my employees stay clocked in and out, which is very helpful. I also like that the Autopilot feature works on its own, especially with automatic clock-ins, streamlining the whole process. Setting up Workyard was also very, very easy, making the transition smooth.

**What do you dislike about Workyard?**

I think the need to have the app open in the background is unnecessary.

**What problems is Workyard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Workyard for approving shifts and it helps with clocking in and out through geofencing. Autopilot mode does automatic clock-ins, making sure employees stay clocked in without manual checks.

**Official Response from Matthew Smoothy:**

> Thanks for taking the time to leave this review. Hearing that Autopilot, geofencing, and shift approvals are making your day easier (and that setup was painless) is exactly what we're after.

On the background app point, fair feedback worth explaining. The Autopilot clock-ins and geofence accuracy you mentioned rely on the "Always Allow" location permission, which lets Workyard run quietly in the background without your crew needing to keep the app open or the screen on all day. Without it, location tracking would pause every time someone switches apps or locks their phone, which means missed clock-ins and incomplete time cards. To protect privacy, we only record location while a worker is clocked in or inside a project geofence, never outside those windows.

Glad to have you with us.

  ### 2. Streamlined Operations, Effortless Time Tracking

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mary S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Workyard?**

I use Workyard daily for logging hours, communicating notes, and keeping record of upcoming and completed tasks. I like its accessibility and user-friendliness because it doesn’t take long to learn how to use at all. The clock-in/out feature is very helpful, and the ability for employees to log and keep track of their own hours really gives a visual picture that our time and labor is really paying off. It is very efficient having all of our jobs and tasks in one place with time, location, and team members assigned to each job. The initial setup was pretty seamless, and everyone adjusted and learned how to use the system pretty quickly.

**What do you dislike about Workyard?**

I think a communications feature could be very useful. Some form of a messaging tool among employees would improve communication even further.

**What problems is Workyard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Workyard for organizing tasks efficiently, with all jobs in one place, solving major communication issues by centralizing information. It's helpful for logging hours, communicating notes, and tracking tasks.

  ### 3. Effortless Time Tracking with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chad P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Workyard?**

I like how Workyard auto clocks my employees in and how it works even if there's no cellular data. These features help keep the data accurate and save me from having to manually input data. It also helps keep up with my guys' hours and automatically tracks them on different jobs, which allows me to do better job costing.

**What do you dislike about Workyard?**

When using the app, it would be nice if I could just click on the sites the guys have visited and allocate the time to the job it's for or subtract from their time, like if it was lunchtime that could be subtracted. It should give options on how to allocate the time when you click on the site. I've used another app called Construction Clock and that was the only thing I liked better about it. Also, it would be cheaper if they could have crew leaders as paying users while still being able to track hours of their crew without having to pay for every single employee.

**What problems is Workyard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workyard tracks my employees' hours automatically on different jobs for better job costing. I like the auto clock-in and offline functionality that ensures data accuracy, reducing manual data entry.

  ### 4. Effortless Time Tracking with GPS Precision

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** nick l. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Workyard?**

I find Workyard easy to use, especially when adding projects. The real-time checking ensures that time adjustments are entered properly, which is really helpful. I also appreciate the GPS tracking feature, which monitors driving after clocking into the site. The initial setup was very easy, and I've already recommended it to my contractor buddies in similar situations, as I find it quite valuable.

**What do you dislike about Workyard?**

I don't like that the app version of Workyard lacks some of the functionality available in the web version. It would be better if more features from the web could be mirrored in the app.

**What problems is Workyard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workyard helps me track labor hours to job sites, preventing employees from taking advantage of the time clock and drive time. It's easy to add projects, adjust time with real-time checks, and GPS tracks driving after clocking in.

  ### 5. Perfect for Tracking Time, Travel, and Labor Across Multiple Job Sites

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicholas W. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Workyard?**

It's perfect for my needs tracking time, travel, and labor across multiple job sites, with multiple employees.

**What do you dislike about Workyard?**

I wish that if I miss a clock in, when I enter the clock in time and location, the app could extrapolate the distance traveled and update time and mileage.

**What problems is Workyard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It saves me hours of time that I used to spend manually tracking our time at jobsites. With a quick report, I can see where all our time is going: getting materials, driving, and actual time on the job.

  ### 6. Intuitive with QuickBooks Integration Boosting Time Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Workyard?**

I really love how Workyard makes it easy to invoice. It's intuitive, and I can link it to QuickBooks, which is really convenient. I also like how easy it is to manage time and track my employees. The ability to print off notes and attach them to my invoices is great because it cuts down on time and eliminates the need to go through handwritten notes. Setting up Workyard was pretty easy, and the support team was very helpful when I first set it up, addressing all my questions.

**What do you dislike about Workyard?**

Nothing yet

**What problems is Workyard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Workyard for time management and tracking employees. It simplifies invoicing and integrates with QuickBooks. It's intuitive to use, lets me attach notes to invoices, reducing time spent on handwritten notes.

  ### 7. Easy to Manage Crew and Materials

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael S. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Workyard?**

I can view the workers' locations at each job site, which is very helpful. If they forget to log their tasks or projects, I am still able to check their location history and enter the time for each project afterward.

**What do you dislike about Workyard?**

If the workers don’t note which job they are working on, it becomes difficult for me to know how to bill the customer. They often forget to do this. I wish there were a way to require them to record their work before clocking out.

**What problems is Workyard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can easily see where everyone is and who will be assigned to each project. I have the flexibility to let either the office or the team leader assign jobs. Tracking each worker's hours and monitoring the time spent on each project is straightforward. The checklist feature helps ensure that nothing important is forgotten on the job, which helps prevent unnecessary costs in time and money.

  ### 8. Effortless Time Tracking with Mobile Convenience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucas P. | Apprentice Carpenter

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Workyard?**

I really like Workyard because I can do everything from my phone, which is super convenient for clocking in and out at my construction job. The geofence feature is great for keeping track of when and where I go, which solves the problem of forgetting when I started and finished my workday. Before Workyard, I had to write all my timecard information on a piece of paper, so having everything on my phone is a huge improvement. Overall, everything works great for me, and the initial setup was pretty easy since I'm familiar with technology.

**What do you dislike about Workyard?**

Nothing really

**What problems is Workyard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Workyard to clock in and out for work, solving the problem of forgetting work hours. The geofencing tracks time and location easily. I like using my phone for it instead of paper.

  ### 10. Effortless Payroll Processing with Room for More Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Orlando B.

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Workyard?**

I love using Workyard for payroll processing because it offers ease and efficiency by consolidating everything in one place. The ability to generate reports is particularly appealing, and the interface is intuitive, making it easy to navigate. I also appreciate how simple it is to add or delete people within the system, which simplifies management tasks. The flexibility of managing payroll per pay period is another feature I find beneficial, as well as the overall ease of the initial setup, which made transitioning from our previous manual processes seamless. These features make Workyard an invaluable tool in my workflow.

**What do you dislike about Workyard?**

I find the current functionalities in Workyard lacking in certain areas. For instance, there is a need for more robust reporting and analytical capabilities. Currently, the inability to edit PTO amounts without having to delete and re-enter the request is cumbersome, which affects efficiency. Furthermore, generating specific reports, like those tracking clock-ins after hours for overtime analysis, is not as straightforward as I would prefer.

**What problems is Workyard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Workyard for payroll processing, which provides ease and integration, and it's user-friendly for reporting and managing team information.
