"Great for personal use, unsure of viability for production websites"
What do you like best about Umbraco?

The ease of use from installation to quickly setting up document types & creating/editing content.

The ease of extending it with custom components. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Umbraco?

I tend to experience a few sporadic errors within the UI which always leads me to question its viability for production websites. Happy to use it for personal use but would not recommend it to an employer until it becomes more robust.

The fact it is only supported on the .net framework. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"mbraco: Powerful, Open-Source, and Easy to Use"
What do you like best about Umbraco?

I really appreciate that Umbraco is open-source and built on the .NET framework, which makes it highly extensible, secure, and developer-friendly. It offers a clean and intuitive CMS interface, strong API support, and a flexible architecture that allows seamless integration with third-party systems like CRMs and APIs.

Additionally, the active community, rich plugin ecosystem, and frequent updates make it easy to customize and scale solutions. Its content modeling flexibility and support for headless and composable architectures also stand out, making Umbraco suitable for both traditional and modern web applications. What do you dislike about Umbraco?

Honestly, there isn’t much to dislike — Umbraco is quite straightforward and easy to use. However, because it’s so flexible and developer-oriented, sometimes the initial setup and configuration can require more technical knowledge compared to some plug-and-play CMS platforms. Also, certain advanced features like form handling or workflow management often need additional packages or customization rather than being available out of the box. "Intuitive Platform with Stellar Support, but Media Library Needs Improvement"
What do you like best about Umbraco?

Umbraco is an intuitive platform, with lots of great features. The customer support team is helpful and very responsive, going above and beyond to answer complex queries. I use Umbraco almost every day in my work and, with developers, have been able to implement all the features we want for our website. We recently integrated Umbraco Analytics which has been a great improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Umbraco?

Sometimes because it is not an out-of-the-box product, there are idiosyncrasies in the way our site has been designed and developed (by previous developers) that can mean lengthy workarounds. The media library could really do with drag and drop - it takes days to organise! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, Functional, and Effortless—Absolutely No Downsides"
What do you like best about Umbraco?

Its functionality, speed, and ease of use. From the second I am logged into the service I am able to quickly complete a task, and its on the regional website page. Speed of this software makes it very simple to complete tasks in a timely fashion.

The ease of implementing it into my routine makes it essential to the rescue work I do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Umbraco?

I have yet to find a field within this platform that is unlikeable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User-Friendly and Supportive, But Feels Outdated with Razor Pages"
What do you like best about Umbraco?

Easy to use and very friendly community. It was a long legacy, and has a lot of people to talk to about problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Umbraco?

It is stuck in Razor Pages, which is an old tech, and im not sure how umbraco fits into a modern stack. Im finding less and less reasons to use umbraco over time Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Page Building with an Intuitive Interface"
What do you like best about Umbraco?

Easy to use interface, along with the ability to see the content blocks you are building while it is on the page. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Umbraco?

It's a shame you can not lock pages, when you have a team of editors you can accidently overwrite each others work. So if there was a way to show who else is working on a page to prevent users accidently overwriting work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Umbraco: Clean, User-Friendly, and Perfect for Content Creators"
What do you like best about Umbraco?

Umbraco is built for people who actually work with content. The interface is clean and logical — you can find things fast, edit without breaking structure, and preview exactly how pages will look. It’s easy to learn, feels modern to use, and doesn’t bury you in tech jargon. I love Umbraco :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Umbraco?

Because it’s so flexible, consistency depends on how well the site was built. Poorly configured Umbraco can feel clunky. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Customizable and User-Friendly, But Improve Widget Options"
What do you like best about Umbraco?

I love how customizable Umbraco is to my liking, which allows me to adapt its functionality to meet my specific needs. This customization capability extends to managing photos, videos, and text efficiently, which is crucial for keeping my website up-to-date and fast. Additionally, I find it was super easy for me to learn, which made the process of getting started with Umbraco smooth and stress-free. This ease of learning adds significant value to my experience, enhancing my productivity and making Umbraco an appealing choice for managing my website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Umbraco?

Sometimes the widgets in Umbraco can be limited with their options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Webpage Editing, Highly Recommended"
What do you like best about Umbraco?

I appreciate how Umbraco streamlines the process of editing webpages by being quick and easy to use. This is incredibly beneficial, especially since I often prefer not to spend too much time on website updates. The user-friendly interface ensures that I can make last-minute changes to keep the website up to date without any hassle. Additionally, the initial setup was very easy, which further enhanced my experience with Umbraco. Overall, these features make Umbraco a tool I confidently recommend to others. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Umbraco?

I find that Umbraco could benefit from providing more tools for editing the color, text font, and graphics of the website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"CMS with composability at the center"
What do you like best about Umbraco?

The extensibility. You can make pretty much whole apps inside the backoffice itself.

That its all just a .NET MVC project, so it's very easy to get started with, if you've used that prior. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Umbraco?

That the only non-sqlite database engine supported is SQL Server. Postgres would be much wanted and would make more sense for a free and open source project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
