## Tray.ai Reviews
  ### 1. Very Powerful Tool, Constantly Improving Support To Help Utilise It

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam M. | Head of Digital, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

The ability to integrate with anything that has API documentation, as well as the 100's of prebuilt connectors. There has not been a more universal tool to improve our back office operations than this.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

We were previously located outside of their support office timezone. This meant requests for support were quite delayed and could drag over a day or two. Tray have since rectified this and I am sure we will see quicker solutions and training to help us understand everything the product can do for us

**Recommendations to others considering Tray.ai:**

If you have the beginnings of technical knowledge and the ability to think creatively on how to build out an automated flow - You will save so much time that you will have to start pretending you're working. The HTTP Clients and the documentation around how to use API calls will mean you build your connectors for most, if not all, the software you may already use without needing a developer.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have automated nearly all of our backend operations, allowing us to spend time on solving bigger problems as opposed to being tied down in operational filler.

**Official Response from Kayla Gibbons:**

> Thanks for the feedback. We are continuing to expand our support coverage. Look out for new announcements about our expanded coverage very soon!

  ### 2. I love to use it and I highly recommended to everyone

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

Tray.io and the best support team. They are constantly improving customer experience

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

The tray is a very good and powerful tool

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can do a system integration in a quick way to solve my business problem

  ### 3. The best iPaas player out there today

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2020

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

Tray has the best workflow business in the industry. It is easy to read and build. Other players can get data from point A to point B, but Tray allows me to do this at a much quicker rate and without developer skills. I have tried the other players including a good competitor like Workato, but Tray still is the easier solution for non-IT/Dev builders. It feels more natural.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

Tray is still lacking organizational control settings (Group Admin settings). They just released some user management settings recently that were a great step forward but they have to continue developing that. I have no doubt they will get there just not there today.

**Recommendations to others considering Tray.ai:**

In your evaluation look at who will be choosing the application and what they will be doing. If this is for an internal IT team, other vendors may look more "mature". If you want a system wide deployment, adoption will be key and Tray.io is a simpler platform to introduce.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Integrating internal applications and spinning up demonstrations with Tray powering example integrations to other systems. The biggest benefit is speed. With Tray I can spin up a demo to a system I have never integrated with in a matter of hours with no code. I was not able to do that before or had to wait for available resources to build out those integrations.

  ### 4. Over Promise Under Deliver

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh P. | Web Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

Their interface is clean and modern looking.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

We paid Tray.io to build out our integration, which was estimated to take a few weeks, and after a year they gave up on our project. They had a lot of turn over and we in the end they failed on being able to do the integration.

**Recommendations to others considering Tray.ai:**

Get references from other companies that have completed projects similar to yours.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tray.io wasn't able to complete our integration project and they were't able to help with solving our problem. We had to use another vendor.

  ### 5. Excellent Integration Solution as a Service Provider

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William (Matt) W. | Sales Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

Tray.io makes it much easier to create, deploy, and manage multiple different integrations of various complexities. They have a fantastic staff when it comes to support and guidance on maximizing the use of the product.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

It is important to note that Tray.io is not for the typical integration owner. It does require advanced knowledge and training when it comes to creating integrations, especially highly complex ones.

**Recommendations to others considering Tray.ai:**

Leverage Tray.io's support and account management team for advice and guidance when using the product. They are knowledgeable, helpful, and responsive.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are expediting the delivery of integrations and creating a more comprehensive scope of what data is synced between different environments. If you have a limited staff when it comes to supporting integrations, I highly recommend giving this solution a try. In addition, the number of prebuilt connectors makes choosing the correct solution more apparent.

  ### 6. Powerful Automation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mamdoh N. | Operations Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

It is a very powerful automation tool. The support is above and beyond.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

Documentation makes the learning curve a bit steeper.

**Recommendations to others considering Tray.ai:**

The documentation falls short. But once you get a hand of it you'll love it. Coming from Zapier it is significantly harder but much more capable.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've integrated WooCommerce with Netsuite to sync the too. It offered me more flexibility than Oracle's suggested in-house alternative

  ### 7. Tray.io is a serviceable product, with less than stellar support

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua D. | Senior Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

Tray had a reasonably good GUI, and presents itself quite well.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

Poor documentation, very long development time on feature requests, slow communication with their team. Feels like you arent their priority

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unclear, we gave tray a good shot but had to switch after a couple of months.

  ### 8. Consistently Positive Experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Electronics | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

Tray.io has been an invaluable tool as we scale our systems to match our growth. The product is simple enough that it is useable by those without a software background, but allows enough complexity that it teaches while enabling any level of automation complexity we've encountered. Support service has been terrific.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

The pricing model leaves something to be desired as charging by workflows is not directly applicable to every company's use-case. While their sales team has been flexible to a degree, a lack of automatic task/workflow/data limits built into the service leaves space for ambiguity/interpretation when attempting to govern usage internally.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have found the most significant usage for Tray.io with logistical automation, which processes orders, shipments, returns, etc.

  ### 9. Tray is a powerful tool that makes building and maintaining integrations much more accessible.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

The awesome thing about Tray is its great drag and drop interface; it makes it very easy to visualize and build logic for integrations using their prebuilt connectors: all relying on the infrastructure they've built out. It's very powerful as it also has the ability to create custom HTTP calls to API's and when you want to more complex data manipulation the ability to interject JavaScript/Python is nice. The prebuilt connectors provide a strong base while the ability to customize makes it very flexible and robust. The UI is also beautiful which makes it enjoyable to work in. Their embedded solution is also invaluable with being able to scale and have customers use solutions we build.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

It would be nice if you could comment out/skip specific steps when working on a workflow; the ability to import JS libraries would also be nice.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're able to build integrations with a lean team: both custom integrations for individual clients and solutions that can be used by many clients.

  ### 10. Solid, easy-to-use automation tool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

The Tray.io user interface is intuitive. I love the concreteness of the visualization. There's an extensive library of connectors, and within a workflow, it's easy to move connectors around, and it's also easy to connect connectors to each other -- I appreciate the snake connector for JSON paths.

Currently, our organization is using Tray more as an ELT tool than as a way to e.g. automate cross-departmental business workflows. Though this has worked okay for us, it doesn't really seem like the intended use case, and it's too expensive (and a little unwieldy) for that purpose. It's in the other cases -- triggering some business action to happen after some other business action happens -- that Tray really shines.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

Rarely there will be a few hours when Tray just isn't working right -- things won't run. Troubleshooting versioning issues has often been bizarrely tricky. Additionally, Tray is a pain for working with workflows that have complicated logic, when the workflow structure branches out too wide and it's hard to navigate.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ETL -- getting e-commerce data from Shopify and Amazon and putting it into a cloud storage warehouse -- has been our main use case. Tray helped get our Data team up and running without needing help from a developer. (The Data team now also uses it for audits.)

  ### 11. Tray.io review

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

It's a suitable tool for simple workflows and easy integrations.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

- It lacks the creation of separate environments and promotion of changes.
- When idle, it continues to make a lot of network requests, and I think this consumes a lot of resources when working on multiple tabs.
- Sometimes there are conflicts when different users try to edit the same workflow, and the warning is not very informative.
- The interface to check the logs sometimes is very slow. The navigation inside the workflows is ok but not enough with large workflows. The new builder is faster, but there is a lot of unused space between connectors; this is not comfortable working with large workflows.
- I usually have to export the JSON for different versions because It also lacks proper control versioning.
- Some connectors have a manual error handling configuration, but it doesn't work at all, only for a specific connector (HTTP); then why is it available for other connectors (callable, script) where this is not supported?
- The edition of input schemas for callable workflows doesn't work well because the edition of an existing schema is almost always restricted; As a workaround, I have to download the JSON, make the changes manually and upload them again.
- Some connectors struggle to work well depending on the version; this is not desirable for production workflows which are not very open to modifications, I don't really wan't to be checking if a connector have the proper or latest version to be sure it will work ok.
- There is not a way to organize workflow with related purposes, tags are not enough, a folder structure is not available either.
- It's difficult to trace how workflows are linked to other callable workflows. This kind of maps have to be build externally

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Integrations with different partners and tools. Debugging is easy. There are a lot of connector for multiple purposes.

  ### 12. Best Integration Platform in the Business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

The functionality of Tray's workflow builder is what stands out amongst the competition. You can easily apply engineering concepts to your workflows and integrations without becoming constricted by the user-experience (a problem that exists in other platforms). The level of detail that they put into building an environment that is easily shareable amongst other members of the team for collaboration also goes noticed. Working together on projects, collaborating on ideas, building large or small scale integrations are all seamless with Tray.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

Infrastructure and speed. Sometimes performance is slow and tools are slow to update or refresh hindering the building experience. Overall, it has become faster and they're generally trending in the right direction.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building out an integration environment without dealing with the challenges of hosting. Tray handles the hard parts so we can accelerate the frequency of our builds and get the integrations pushed out to our customers that they desire.

  ### 13. If you can dream it, you can build it

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

VERY powerful. You can build anything that you can dream up. Took me a couple of months to advance my skills beyond the limits that I had built up in my brain from using Zapier, but now I am confident and LOVE building in Tray.io

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

Steep learning curve to really get to a level where you can build what you are thinking in a scalable way. Absolutely worth it though. I wish there were better ways to organize your workflows (folders, better tagging, something)

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Syncing data between Salesforce and Asana, Automated work assignment to support teams, processing internal tickets, slackbot notifications, mass updates in Salesforce

  ### 14. Long hard road but we got it to Production.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Wholesale | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

Live API Calls that allow you to see the data you can change or affect. Great documentation.

I worked with Matt E. on the many processes to get our integration done between Hubspot and Leaflink. He's a great guy and wonderful to work with. Their team is willing to admit failure but not defeat. It took a long time to get production, but we still got there.

Their team was willing to step in when there were problems, and they took ownership of the software shortcomings in dealing with my specific issues. We attacked the problems, coded solutions, and got our relationship back on track.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

The roadmap was rough and much longer than initially forecasted by their team. It took a long time to get to production. I was expecting a Q1 integration, and it rolled out in Q4. Not ideal, but they made right on the contract and billing to reflect this long onboarding process.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data interpolation in the canabis industry.

We have an operational Hubspot to Leaflink integration that only interpolates data found in Leaflink as a customer.

  ### 15. Great onboarding and Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam M. | Director of Software and Data Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

Tray.io is easy to use once you have the proper onboarding - very powerful tool.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

Expensive for smaller business - but we appreciate the agreement

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We reduced timelines on data projects for our clients using tray.io

  ### 16. Awesome App

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas C. | VP of IS, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2020

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

It is very intuitive and the visual programming is very helpful. It make working with APIs a simple process.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

I would have liked to have more workflows for the price.

**Recommendations to others considering Tray.ai:**

Tray's support is awesome. They had my use case created for me before I even signed up. Also very helpful with getting us signed up during COVID-19.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been able to accomplish something I've tried for years to do. We can push pdf's from our app to box and get a shared link in return. That process, including sending via email or SMS automatically, takes 10 seconds. It is an awesome product and easy to use.

  ### 17. A very flexible and easy to use integration platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ramiro T. | Team Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

Tray.io helps you build integrations in a very intuitive interface and with little to no coding experience

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

It can be a bit overwhelming at first having so many integration capabilities

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tray.io is helping us solve critical software to software data flow. It helps replicate and react to info into/from several sistems we use

  ### 18. Tray.IO

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mithilesh P. | Technology Lead, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

Snake feature to drag and drop for input

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

Sometimes the error shown in the component log is not meaning ful

**Recommendations to others considering Tray.ai:**

Yes

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Design and Build integration between cloud apps

  ### 19. Great service, superior API connections, Pricing model still a challenge

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan M. | Managing Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

Tray simplifies and MAINTAINS API connections. In my experience, it is the "maintenance" part that is most important -- APIs can and will change over time. Authentications can also be tricky -- Tray is seamless here. The UI is intuitive and easy to pickup. I love that code snippets are very easy to implement too, meaning your workflow can be as "custom" as you can dream.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

Over time, Tray has implemented different pricing models and I can perceive the challenge -- a pure consumption model must cover fixed costs, thus potentially being non-competitive to higher volume users, while a rigid "workflow count" model makes their service only pertinent to high-volume or high-complexity solutions. Since Tray is predominantly using the "workflow count" pricing model, it is cost-prohibitive to use on some tasks (much cheaper options exist with other tools such as Microsoft Power Automate). If Power Automate improves API connections, Tray is going to experience a lot of pricing pressure.

Our other challenge centered around support. As with pricing, the support model has also changed dramatically. When we first came onboard, we were told to "use the chat feature for quick questions." My guess is that this feature was abused, thus making support much more gated behind plans. In my experience it took days to get simple questions answered, which I do not feel should have been part of a implementation plan. Even when I paid for hours, I felt as though I was constantly shuffled amongst tech support engineers, causing me to reteach my use case each time. Each engineers also has his/her own unique skill set and build approach, meaning handoffs were never clean. In the end, we decided it best to chart our own path and try to avoid support altogether.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our use case was specifically ETL to sync data across multiple sources. We have achieved this goal and the process continues to work seamlessly with no daily interaction.

  ### 20. Tray.io for the win! Solved a huge issue for us pertaining to onboarding and offboarding

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joe B. | Identity and Access Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

Tray.io's low-code approach to integrating SaaS applications that may not have native integration to downstream systems. Tray.io also has very thorough customer support to either help you along the way and jumpstart what you need, or they'll allow you to work on the tray.io connector yourself. Tray's web interface is very easy to use already packaged with common connectors. And in each common connector, they've already built out each one with common instruction sets. For other connectors that may need a bit more configuration, you are presented with additional options (JSON included) for the savvier of admins.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

You still need a little bit of JSON knowledge and a little bit of handholding to start. Well, at least most will. But once you get the hang of it, and complemented by Tray's excellent support, you should be administering your integration in no time at all.

**Recommendations to others considering Tray.ai:**

I would highly suggest exploring if Tray.io has an existing integration. When I first contacted them, they had some native integrations with the SaaS products we had, but not necessarily the need. The more Tray works with more SaaS apps, the more their library of integrations grows. So you never know if some other organization has explored but also has configured what you may need. Tray does a great job documenting what they do internally and with their customers so this helps expedites your project to fruition.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are a couple of SaaS applications the organization purchased that do not have true integration with other SaaS apps. Tray solves this issue but having APIs from both ends speak to one another and deliver the expected result. In our case, we use an applicant tracking system with no other integration outside of itself. We are leveraging Tray to speak between the ATS and our IdP to help push down users for consistent, scheduled, and on-time provisioning of accounts. We see other opportunities for Tray to help out our organization in other aspects as long as APIs are available to SaaS apps.

  ### 21. Great Tool for integrating any system

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Taylor B. | Sr. Internal Systems Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

The simplicity of the platform makes it easy to use without having development skills. They have so many ways to integrate different systems, and their implementation team is excellent to work with. Their pricing is also competitive, and I like that they don't limit the number of workflows on your account.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

Billing and Support are where they lack. I actually don't know who is supporting our account at the moment. Within their platform, the Billing portion hasn't been implemented, so it's hard to tell when your contract is coming up for renewal and who to reach out to about it. Support responses are also slow at times.

**Recommendations to others considering Tray.ai:**

Tray.io integrates with most SAAS solutions and allows you to build integrations within seconds using their drag and drop platform. Their implementation team is fantastic to work with and will help you get things up and running! Support isn't bad; just be prepared for longer response times. You also may not hear from your Account Executive after purchasing the software.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We purchased ZenDesk back in 2019 and needed a tool that would help provide a seamless integration with our Salesforce Org. After purchasing Tray.io and working with their implementation team, the tool has been great to have. It allows our Support Team to access Salesforce data within ZenDesk and limits the number of systems needed for Support to do their job.

  ### 22. Big Upgrade from Zapier for Business Process Automation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Austin J. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

I love that the UI looks like a workflow map and can naturally expand out horizontally (whereas Zapier and Workato are both very linear and vertical in their UI, making very complicated workflows hard to understand visually)

I love the error handling possibilities and the object routing template that Tray provided our team and that I have been customizing with their support.

I love the way Tray handles version history and allows for keeping a workflow online even if you are making small live changes to it.

I love that Tray has a bit more of a technical feel but is still simple for someone with no code experience to be the admin.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

I wish Tray allowed for more folders/organizing of workflows beyond just Organization and Personal folders.

I wish Tray allowed data manipulation at the field level like in Workato instead of having to add formatting steps in the workflow separately)

I wish Tray had a more robust self-driven learning portal to become a Tray power user.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were using zapier for a core business process automation that runs across four different tools in our tech stack, and we hit the ceiling of what could be done and done well / adequately.

Big upgrades included moving steps around in the flow, instant trigger, many more conditional options for automation, and more.

  ### 23. Automation without coding

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patricio B. | Information Security Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

Tray.io allowed me to automate processes without coding. Just using the user interface I was able to retrieve and send information making HTTPS requests calling APIs, create Slack interactions to send messages and gather answers, and maintain data up to date in different systems previously isolated.
Presenting the workflow visually also helps others to understand it and modify it.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

When becoming an advanced user, the UI may be perceived as slow. There are some UI improvements that need to be in place to make it easier to navigate big workflows. The ability to collapse and expand loops would be appreciated, and having more granular access controls would allow sharing workflows with the appropriate people.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was able to automate documentation management reviews and approvals bringing together Slack, Emails, Confluence, and Jira.
I created a training through Slack relying on Slackbot interactions, guiding the users and presenting them information according to the interactions.
I was able to dump and process large datasets that were accessible through APIs.
Enriching information is also possible and quite important when dealing with incidents.

**Official Response from Kayla Gibbons:**

> Thanks for the feedback. We actually just completely revamped our workflow builder to address that challenge specifically. In fact, we found that builder performance has improved rendering 1000% for complex workflows. These updates will make it possible for us to develop capabilities like collapsing and expanding loops, grouping steps, and more. Look out for these updates to come soon.

We also just released more granular access controls as part of a recent workspaces update. Now you have much more control over which users have access to specific workflows, authentications, and more.

  ### 24. Best workflow automation tool out there

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ▲ Mitchell W. | Growth and RevOps at Vercel, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

Tray has all of the connectors needed to make extremely powerful workflow automations. It also has the ability to do more advanced work like code steps and API calls to connect with tools where they might not have a connector built yet.

Their team has also been incredibly helpful in helping to build out more advanced workflows.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

Sometimes their UI has some bugs, but this is something I run into rarely and is always fixed by a refresh. It has never resulted in me losing work.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main use cases we have for Tray are moving data between systems and automating workflows.

One of the biggest workflows we have running is a transfer of product data into our CRM on a daily basis. This is something that would be unmanagable to do manually, but becomes simple with Tray.

  ### 25. Reveneer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

The people who work at Tray are the best part of the team. The product is great but it has bugs and flaws. Those would 100% be problematic if they lasted more than a few moments. The people at Tray, Karyna Yehorova, and Conor Kogler are the best of the best; make it what it is. Any tool can do ETL, but not every company has the service and dedication Tray does.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

Not too much about the tool has faults. The product is fantastic and constantly delivers what I need. I would say the only downside is the debugger is kind of slow.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to connect various sources of data into 1 central record of truth

  ### 26. Great experience but not for every use case.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

- Easily graphically integrate third-party APIs.
- Quick and easy to use tools to create the workflows, easy copy pasting.
- The logging is really helpful and easy to use.
- Connectors for doing notifications, quick to setup.
- You have connectors for almost anything you'll need.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

- Logging: As I mention I really like the logging, but the interface is slow sometimes, the filters in place aren't always helpful, take ages to scroll to reach a top connector. Also the only storing the last 30 days it's a problem too.
- Viewing the workflow gets cumbersome when you have many connectors.
- Random "Something went wrong errors" appearing that aren't clear and you could still use the system without problems.
- Same with losing changes when a colleague opens the same workflow and getting wrong ownership/current editor conflicts.
- Not having a easy way to see if a workflow is called by another one, so having many members in the team is hard to do some cleanup, refactors without risks of breaking something.
- Weird random errors when importing a new workflow from a Json. It works randomly.
- If you want to edit the case of the name of a workflow you have to rename it and then go back to the right name.
- Weird issues with versions of the connectors but hard to debug why that is the problem.
- The Dropbox connector only works with the old Dropbox API version that's is deprecated, took me ages to debug that.

**Recommendations to others considering Tray.ai:**

It's a great tool that could get a bit better in some spots.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Integrations with 3rd party tools and apps from clients mostly. Quickness in integrations thanks to the variety of ready to use connectors.

**Official Response from Kayla Gibbons:**

> Thanks so much for this feedback - we really do appreciate it. We did recently address a few of the issues you brought up - have you used the new workflow builder yet? We expedited that work to improve the rendering and performance for complex workflows in particular. Those updates have improved rendering by more than 1000% for large, complex workflows. The new builder should also help increase our speed of delivery for new UX improvements like grouping steps in the coming year.

  ### 27. Tray.io is very proficient in automating our LeadGen processes and it suits our needs perfectly.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

The interface, the pre-built connectors.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

I can't switch around workflows between workspaces/main and secondary one.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our LeadGen processes; our internal procedures regarding bulk prospecting. The workflows save us time, funds and effort.

  ### 28. Easy + Intuitive Integration Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jerod M. | Recording Artist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

The platform is easy to use and has myriad connectors out of the box. Workflow is logical and visual and allows for complex solutions. Being able to segment workflows out into smaller, callable workflows, akin to microservices, helps to optimize performance.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

The documenation could be a bit more in-depth; there are a lot of functions within each connector, but there's a bit of trial and error with some bits. It's always hard to price tools like this, but the high barrier to entry prevents consultants/freelancers from trying it out.

**Recommendations to others considering Tray.ai:**

Working with their sales team has been excellent! Very organized and results-driven.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As we identify product/market gaps, we build integrations with our partner network, which allows us to go to market together with net-new solutions.

  ### 29. Powerful automation tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

Tray.io has a drag and drop interface that allows non-engineers (like myself) to do really cool things with APIs. Once I got over the learning curve, it's an intuitive and powerful system. Plus, the support engineers are insanely patient and knowledgable!

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

Occasionally bugs make it hard to know if I'm doing something wrong, or if the system is showing me incorrect information.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are trying to help our customers get more out of our API, many of whom do not have development resources themselves. Many more customers are able to send data back and forth now that Tray.io is powering their data flows.

  ### 30. Excellent iPaaS platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Events Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

Onboarding process takes time - but overall great experience. Onboarding process takes time - but overall great experience. Onboarding process takes time - but overall great experience

**Recommendations to others considering Tray.ai:**

Great platform worth a shot

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are taking data collected by our platform and syncing with other systems of record. Benefits include enterprise-grade platform and security and scalability. Also very agile in terms of connector development and deployment

  ### 31. Great automation tools

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric F. | COO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

The system has a powerful set of tools for interacting with APIs. So far I have been able to accomplish everything I set out to do with it.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

The price is relatively high for our use case. There are some buggy issues here and there where nodes dont work as expected. Also, support is slow to respond now that we are live. During our trial, support was very responsive and participative. That set expectations pretty high. Makes sense why that would have to change, though.

**Recommendations to others considering Tray.ai:**

Spend time during your trial to get a working POC. That's the only way to know if it will meet your needs.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use tray to interact with third party APIs to accomplish several different goals. One of the integrations we have built is directly responsible for revenue generation. We also use it to push reporting data to decision makers via Slack.

  ### 32. Great tool for connecting applications

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

Tray's UI is easy to understand but robust enough to create the necessary connections between your applications. The interface that you use to build out your workflows is both intuitive and friendly to your eyes. The support team there has been very helpful with getting my workflows set up and debugged.

I'd also like to call out the Tray academy which has some useful videos set up to get you up. It starts with the basics and gets more advanced with so much information available for you to self-serve.

By learning this tool, you'll gain an understanding of APIs in general and be able to connect to a variety of APIs.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

The learning curve can be a bit high without support but they have a decent amount of help articles to make up for it. If the interface does not map to current aspects of an API you want to connect with, you may need to wait for Tray to update their connection with said API.

**Recommendations to others considering Tray.ai:**

Definitely check out the Tray.io community and academy to get a lay of the land.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When certain integrations between applications don't support your use case, you can use Tray to custom build your integrations directly with the applications API. Tools like Zapier can help with creating connections between applications but they are nowhere near as robust as something like Tray. The amount of events that can be created + customizable workflows is endless.

  ### 33. Great tool to offset missing features of other services

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean Y. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

The interface is fairly easy to use and has a lot of capability. The company is also very helpful when you get stuck or need help. I've used Tray.io at 2 companies now and it's allowed me to offload previous manual tasks to Tray.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

It can take a little bit of time to use Tray in the way that works best. My initial workflows were very simple and I still don't fully grasp some of the more advanced functionality.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reducing the number of manual tasks performed by IT or other business teams. It is also helpful with offboarding as some services don't have automatical deprovision via SCIM.

**Official Response from Kayla Gibbons:**

> Thanks for the feedback - we definitely understand it can be difficult to grasp everything you can do with the Tray Platform. You should Check out Tray Academy Live to go deeper on key technical topics like pagination, using the HTTP client, and more!

  ### 34. Tray is extremely well positioned and suitable for simple connections.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

Oauth is extremely easy to setup and that's half the battle. In addition, there are so many connectors to pick up from.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

1. Debugging in lower environments is difficult, if not impossible.
2. Integration with source code management tools (for custom JS)
3. reusability of the custom JS across different integrations via library

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are integrating our services with other third party services to allow our customers to automate their workflows. We have connected many different verticals using Tray connectors.

  ### 35. Tray tool helped me to perform good API integrations but few improvements are required

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lalitha Krishna Y. | Lead Integration developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

Tray inbuilt connectors reduce most of the workload for me. And also advanced HTTP request is more useful

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

There is no option to take complete screenshots of workflows.
There is no proper scripting access. Data mapping functionalities need to improve.
Sometimes tool gets overloaded, performance needs to be improved. And there should be a solution to move workflows as a group from one environment to another.

**Recommendations to others considering Tray.ai:**

Tray.io tool is perfect comprehensive tool for small and medium scale businesses

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am trying to build core API integrations for CRM tools. Tool happens to make my work more accessible with defining APIs and setting up authentications

  ### 36. Tray.io has been an incredible partner in the past year....

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

There platform is very user friendly and the data tools and connectors are outstanding

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

Having to fill out a box I did not want to

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tray was the connector we were looking for to tie together multiple systems and share data or send data in any direction, the automated triggers waiting to run workflows are a great feature if you dont want to run things on a schedule.

  ### 37. Tray is a powerful low-code automation platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julian P. | Product Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

I love that Tray already has so many platforms integrated into its environment. What's even better is that if someone uses a platform not integrated, it's only a small fee to add it to Tray.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

Nothing. For anything I can't figure out, my Tray support plan allows me to have meetings with Tray support staff as needed o work through the problem.

**Recommendations to others considering Tray.ai:**

Build a test workflow with Tray and see how it works. Try to build one yourself or try to build one with a Solution Architect during your trial period. Record your sessions and that will be a great learning tool towards building workflows yourself.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My team is automating otherwise manual processes. We're saving significant amounts of time, our first workflow saves about 20 hours a day of manual work for a particular team.

  ### 38. Great Embedded Experience!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

The UI is like nothing I've used before. After learning how to build workflows effectively, our team has accelerated our rapid release of customer integrations alongside some of our powerful core products. Becoming a Tray power user has been a fun experience and allows even product managers to wear the hat of engineering.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

The price can be steep on embedded, but once the value is realized it makes it worth it. Some small bugs here and there, but they are resolved quickly. I want some more analytics on user data, but besides that, nothing too glaring.

**Recommendations to others considering Tray.ai:**

Implementation of embedded can take some time but after the bell curve the value is great.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accelerating out customer solutions with partner vendors via Restful APIs.
Reducing engineering costs and overhead.
Quick iterations for squashing bugs and workflow errors that scale.

  ### 39. Flexible integration tool with fantastic support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darek L. | Salesforce Solutions Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

The hands-on support walking through integration requirements and supplied documentation is the best I've seen. The tool itself is great and can branch with conditions as needed. Not sure I've seen anything it can't do.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

It requires some studying up and technical ability to learn. Not as complex as MuleSoft, but as it is more flexible than a tool like Zapier, it is more complicated to learn.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data transport from our business to Partners, data conversion, error handling.

  ### 40. Very Helpful for our Integrations and Visibility

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

I like the ability to be able to see clearly the path of the trigger and where it was successful or where it failed. Easy to learn and use on the fly when someone is encountering an issue with our app.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

I really don't have any negatives to express. It is a major improvement from Zapier which we were using prior to Tray with our integrations.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to release standardized and custom integrations for our customers.

  ### 41. Powerful and Flexible low code automation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

When we're integrating systems, it rarely goes perfectly. Often small differences in data format or edge cases would prevent us from using other automation platforms, or introduce a large number of errors downstream.Tray provides access to logic and full code snippet execution to ensure that we can always make our workflows function correctly, even if may end up a bit more technical. This ability to jump into a more advanced workflow when needed is key to ensuring we can always use Tray to automate.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

Though it's improving all the time, Tray's trigger library is limited compared to something like Zapier. This isn't necessarily a problem as zaps and other automation platforms can trigger tray workflows easily via webhooks, but it is an extra step.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sales ops automation, quote to cash, and data migration

  ### 42. Tray gets the job done

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

I love that Tray connects to just about everything. If you have an application with an API, it's likely tray can link to it.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

Tray does go down relatively often, in comparison to other applications my company uses. And the fixes are not always super fast.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are trying to solve the problem of connecting multiple applications across multiple domains. Tray allows us to centralize some workflows

  ### 43. Good product

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

Tray.io worked great as a workflow automation system. It handled everything that my organization needed.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

I found that it was relatively complex to build out what I needed. When it worked, it worked, but I would have required plenty of additional time with a CS resource to really be able to use it to its full potential.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mockups for demos, internal process automation

  ### 44. Tray is great - it's easy to use and flexible to accommodate our custom workflows

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

I like that tray has all the connectors we need and has flexibility to write scripts to be even more custom.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

The things I dislike are that it doesn't have good functionality to follow a release promotion process and doesn't have better access controls for different groups but both of these are being addressed with upcoming features.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We don't want to write custom code to support unique workflows for different partners. Tray allows us to write custom workflows and integrations between our internal tools - sometimes just a POC with tray.io can save us a lot of time.

  ### 45. Easy to use. Great resources to get started. Most importantly highly effective.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luis C. | Site reliability Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

Intuitive design and great integration choices

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

There are not as many integrations choices as needed.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tray.io has helped us streamlines our workflows for Finance, Customer Suppot, and Development

  ### 46. Sr. Engineer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

Tray's intuitive user interface and usage model. Having a wide variety of connectors to existing systems is critical to the tasks I use Tray.io for.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

The thing I dislike is the current debugging process and logs.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

See above. The biggest benefits have been solving more and more complexity in integration problems and faster time to market with our solutions.

  ### 47. Tray helps us automate tickets!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

I love that tray connects to all of our 60+ zendesk instances to help us automate ticket flow

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

can be a bit slow at times and does go down occationally

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we have WAY more systems than we can manually manage. Tray helps us move and change data in all of our systems with very little custom code

  ### 48. Easy Mode for API automation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandon B. | R, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

Empowers non-coders to access automation

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

Can be a bit difficult to navigate at first

**Recommendations to others considering Tray.ai:**

Gives you a Saas tool that acts as an Ops Dev department. You still need to understand the fundamentals of APIs, data structure and automation, but this fills in the gaps of coding knowledge required to build custom API connections.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DB data integrity, process automation, CRM access, lead enrichment, skill development

  ### 49. Great product, helped me a lot in my automation projects. Cut my time to less than half.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

Customer support is excellent. They are very supportive and schedule a time to pair with you when you need them.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

Sometimes I have to push the run workflow button more than once to get it running.

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automating workflows, reducing errors, Integrations

  ### 50. Tray is an amazing platform to integrate systems

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Tray.ai?**

I like the way you can easily connect several platforms in real time. You can integrate your data across all the systems your company uses in just a few hours.

**What do you dislike about Tray.ai?**

Some UI adjustments just make more difficult the navigation in the builder, especially when we work with huge flows it's so complicated to navigate across all the steps and components.

**Recommendations to others considering Tray.ai:**

I recommend tray.io to connect platforms in real time

**What problems is Tray.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using real time inegrations, like salesforce with moodle, survey monkey, etc.
I can quickly integrate some systems (especially the ones that have already a component in tray.io).
