I like the fact that when you upload your original document, that you can then choose which type of translation you want to do. Machine, Machine & human review, Me and team or Professional full service.

I'm developing wordpress website as part of my stack of deliverables as an agency. Within WordPress, text should be translated. With this tool we can do that perfectly for clients. Not only for websites, but also for print documents I make with Indesign. I can upload idml files that indesign can export.

**What do you like best about TextUnited?**

The platform itself is managed by experts and professionals with hands on project management skills and is translated by specially, chosen, qualified linguists.

**What do you dislike about TextUnited?**

Given what we need, translation by humans is the only solution; automated translation may be great in certain scenarios. Unforeseen, random site enhancements may slow down the performance of the website or hinder project creation.

**What problems is TextUnited solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Although we have affiliates for some translations that assist us with a particular area, we lack collaborators for all of the scripts we require. With their highly qualified service, TextUnited contributes to bridging the translator shortage.

**What do you like best about TextUnited?**

The service provided by the account and project managers is excellent. The service is overall very flexible and therefore suitable for smaller as well as large projects. We use the web app for smaller tasks and get full transparency on costs and can choose from different options. There are some nice features, e.g. the translation memory can be downloaded if required. For larger projects, we usually get in touch directly with our account and project managers which works really well.

**What do you dislike about TextUnited?**

The machine translation option may be great for certain use cases but for our needs, human translation is the only option.

**What problems is TextUnited solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With TextUnited we can handle small projects in a very simple way and with full transparency. Full-service translation management for larger translation projects is also available and works really well. We can use our own in-house reviewers but also proofreading provided by TextUnited. We like both, depending on the nature of the project at hand. Marketing managers in different regions can use Text United as required and get invoiced per legal entity, which is also one of our requirements.

**What do you like best about TextUnited?**

The tool greatly facilitates the work of translation management, allowing texts to be assigned to managers, translators and proofreaders easily and intuitively. It greatly facilitates the follow-up of the work by informing, in real-time, the percentage of text already translated. In addition, it offers an automatic pre-translation that makes the translator's job easier.

**What do you dislike about TextUnited?**

The way the text is divided into small sentences by the tool sometimes hinders the more general understanding of the text being translated. By reducing the excerpts to a minimum, often in the translation, the idea that the author was trying to convey is lost and the tool makes it impossible for the excerpts to be redrawn elsewhere in the text, as would happen in a translation with a traditional process.

We want to speed up the time and lower the cost of translation.

**What do you like best about TextUnited?**

Good automatic machine translations.
Easy to use translation interface.
The desktop app - much easier to add TM/Terminology, easier to find projects, filter for translators, etc.

**What do you dislike about TextUnited?**

TU is often slow, crashes, or plain doesn't work.
Bug reports/feedback seem to be ignored or not addressed.
Implemented fixes disappear and are not implemented again, even after repeatedly asking for them to be reinstated (e.g. Zendesk article names appearing in the translation file names instead of just numbers).
Features/functionality/interface is changed without notice or information.
Notification emails only work sometimes or only appear in the normal email inbox but not in the TU inbox.
Tasks assigned to freelancers/other translators also appear in my personal task list without me being actually assigned as a translator - this makes my task list very unclear and basically useless. The explanation given for this - it is a feature to give project managers access to the translator view - doesn't hold true as I can only see the ICR version of the translator view.
No information in project view if a project has been synced back to Zendesk or not.
No information in project view if a project has been accepted by the translator.
No possibility to delete "failed" projects myself, i.e. projects that crashed during set up and are stuck in "In preparation" mode.
Translator team pop up window has no scroll down bar - cannot see all available teams.
Translator teams can only be used after putting it on-hold - not during the creation of a project when they would be the most useful.
Zendesk projects have an automatic 1 month deadline, if a different time is needed, project has to be created, put on hold and then the overall deadline and the translator deadline needs to be changed - why not just enable setting the deadline while creating the project?
Pre Machine translation moves spaces before/after tags around - makes QA report bulky and can mess up exported translations.
' in Zendesk titles are exported as #&39;.
Terminology is added without being able to select what is replaced - needs to be manually deleted.
No bulk actions possible (in project list).

**What do you like best about TextUnited?**

Centralised management of translation tasks. Real-time tracking of progress. Intuitive UI, with the source text displayed alongside target language. Zendesk integration is great for syncing back articles with links and multimedia. Terminology is an excellent way of curating industry-specific translations, brand names etc. and Translation Memory once built up, is beginning to pay dividends for the speed of translations with upwards of 30% of articles already translated. We are hoping that with more input we could surpass 50% in most cases, and for articles with small changes upwards of 80% or 90%.

**What do you dislike about TextUnited?**

Unscheduled site updates with no warning, causing project creation to fail or the website to run slowly. When users receive an error, the advice is always the same; log out, log in or try a private tab. Makes you feel as if TU aren't able to fix errors, or they simply don't care. Tags denoting hyperlinks, bold text, etc. are machine-translated with spaces inserted not present in the source text. Extremely irritating. Zendesk articles are shown in projects by numerical ID rather than by the article name.

**What problems is TextUnited solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using TextUnited has enabled us a clearer grasp of the friction points in our translation process and the scale of the challenge. With our previous process, this was obscured. However, now we have actionable figures to support a case for greater resources being dedicated to translations. Using TextUnited has given us higher quality translations for customer-facing documentation.

**What do you like best about TextUnited?**

They are fast in responding and they are fast to translate. Sending the documents works great for me. The platform alltogether is structured for me to navigate easily. The service they provide is always very positive and fast in responding. That is great as many times I will need projects to be finished fast!

**What do you dislike about TextUnited?**

Sometimes (not often) the servers are having troubles, so that I cannot log in for a few hours (worst case of this was a couple days). The estimated prices are only vague and differ up to a couple hundred more, that have to be paid. I cannot rely on this forecast.

**What problems is TextUnited solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have for some translations partners that help us with our specific segment, but we do not have partners for every language we need. TextUnited helps fill that gap of translators with their professional service.

**What do you like best about TextUnited?**

It really shrinks the time spend on translations, especially when those translations are just one or two words. You can translate it with the machine translator and most of the time it does not even require correction.

**What do you dislike about TextUnited?**

For large text, the translation could be a bit tricky as it is being made word by word and when used for languages like German or Danish can represent that the translated text does not make sense.

Just bear in mind that every translation stills need to be reviewed and read proofed.

It makes the translation process go faster and reduces the time translators spend on each task. And translating within the app makes your glossary grow, so makes it easier and easier every time you use it.

**What do you like best about TextUnited?**

The platform is easy to use with a straightforward user interface and friendly buttons. It may take several minutes to get acquainted with the platform. The platform has all functions that i need to complete the tasks

**What do you dislike about TextUnited?**

- Login issue: Sometimes I got some login issues which prevent me from completing urgent tasks, and I had to ask technicians for support.
- Late payment: when it comes to payment duedate, i was not paid automatically, and I had to email the person in charge to get paid
- Slow loading: with the long and complicated text, the loading of the platform seems to slow than the short ones.
- Download function: Some times, i need to check my work offline for easy tracking some unseen errors but i could not find it in the platform.

**What do you like best about TextUnited?**

I like the fact that the platform integrates all essential features, such as receiving and accepting/rejecting job offers, translating, proofreading and even invoicing. This saves a lot of time and emails to PMs and admin stuff.
The CAT tool itself is quick and easy to use.

**What do you dislike about TextUnited?**

I miss a couple of features, mainly to help me review my own work: the spellcheck feature is pretty poor (for instance, as far as I know, there is no option to add words to the dictionary and no "Ignore all" option, which makes reviewing more time consuming, and it does not flag grammar mistakes). For this reason, I'd appreciate having the option of converting my translation into a text file in order to review it on a more advanced word processor.

Text United offers a great platform where I can receive job offers, accept or reject them and work on them at my own pace. The whole process is quick and simple - I don't even need to write any emails.
The fact that I can invoice projects directly on the platform is also a time saver.

Automatically transfers to translator in easy to cope with segments
All translations in one place

**What do you dislike about TextUnited?**

Slow
Can't delete or archive Zendesk projects
On hold status doesn't stay i.e. you have to put on hold again to edit an on hold task
Common error in the translated segments - the machine translation seems to move spaces around words with tags. (Makes report too bulky).
Email notifications display user names as Surname Forename (backwards)
Article names in Zendesk projects (in addition to article IDs)? Was working then stopped, back to just ID no.
In file-based projects, filter by "Created by me" and the results also show projects by others. Seems to show only other projects that are multi-lingual. Those show but cannot be opened (no ownership). Same across all users.
Once your user is unticked as a translator, it still assigns you and generates a task for you.
Apostrophe and quotes (' ") are not correctly translated. E.g. in French Winner Flex : Qu'est-ce que la fonction tableau blanc ? Should be Qu'est-ce que….

Don't have to manually enter links, and screenshots and formatting is kept

The machine translations are generally good.

**What do you dislike about TextUnited?**

The browser is too slow, and you can't bulk change projects such as put on hold.  You are not able to use TU to translate English (Gb) to English (USA) suitably using the terminology and machine translation.

It is slowly assisting the project management of assigning 700+ documents to team members in at least 10 languages.  However, it is simply not good enough yet to do this with efficiency.

**What do you like best about TextUnited?**

Ease of machine translation - it's speedy and addresses multiple types of documents (excel, PPT, word, etc).

**What do you dislike about TextUnited?**

I often come across a word count issue and projects are stalled due to it. We don't have a good sense of volume and when we'll need to use the software, so it's harder to predict and sometimes puts us in a jam. That's not a TextUnited issue though, just predictability and frequency of use on our end to be better prepared with the right level of account. Customer Service at TU is always helpful.

Connect with a Customer Success Agent and build a relationship - they are extremely helpful & responsive and make using TextUnited that much easier.

It is not yet possible to translate content for logged-in users like courses. If that would be possible, it will be without a doubt the number 1!

Application has rich functionality and a good API to be used in integrations. Good service from customer success team.

Application is very slow. It takes a long time to view projects etc. Today it took me over 50 secs to load the first page which lists my projects.

Couldn't type Chinese well in the Safari browser is an often complaint from Mac users.

I like the very good reactivity of TextUnited. They also provide state of arts translation quality. It's always possible to rely on them for all projects which involve translation and localization.

IT support and customer service are super helpful and always eager to fix every issue.

The program is not self-explanatory which can be tricky when multiple people are using it for the first time.

I can warmly recommend Text United. The customer service and support team are always helpful and willing to solve issues. Sometimes technical problems or questions occur because the program is not completely self-explanatory and improvements are made regularly which sometimes require getting used to. But they are always happy to adapt the system to our needs and their communication and service is great.

We are using it for translating product description texts, short marketing texts and longer website texts. Coordinating translations to multiple languages is easy, and uploading and downloading files in various formats is convenient.

It is a very professional team, quick responses, and very kind. They take service a step further and do everything to make the freelancers and customers happy.

As a freelancer, I am not always getting paid on time, but I have to remind the company sometimes to pay my invoices.

They offer translations and localisations to almost every language imaginable. Which makes it awesome if you want to have one text (website, flyer) translated to multiple languages.

I work since the end of 2020 for this agency, and I really recommend it to other translators. They offer a reasonable rate, great projects on a user-friendly platform with an excellent build-in machine translation.

**What do you dislike about TextUnited?**

I hope to see some improvements on the platform (numbers for each segment - termbase for the correct language) in the future. I also would like that the invoices are paid on time and not after sending a message. But after I send a message, payment is always made immediately :)

Having worked with Text United for many years now (over 8 I think!) I know from experience that they are great to work with. They act as an intermediary between myself and end customers so that I do not have to go out and find these end customers and then have to discuss pricing etc. Good interaction with project management team, timely project allocation, very good software tool or app.

**What do you dislike about TextUnited?**

Can't think of anything specifically that I dislike.

The problem of sending and receiving translation project files, with associated issues. Such as having to uncompress files and upload or send to certain recipients.

**What do you like best about TextUnited?**

It is a fairly easy to use and navigate web-based system. I used the machine translation only. It is instant, which is a great feature. It translates MUCH better than google translate or other free software. Although I had to pay, it was relatively inexpensive for translating  a book-length manuscript. I only paid 20 Euros for 300 or so pages. The quality of the translation is not perfect, but it serves as a strong base to work through afterward. I had some questions a couple of minor issues, and the customer support staff, particularly Dario Borcak, were excellent.

**What do you dislike about TextUnited?**

It is not a perfect translation, so one does need to work over it to make it of publishable quality. However, it is the best base machine translation I have come across, particularly relative to price.

I am engaged in a translation for the purposes of academic publishing. Text United offered an excellent and invaluable aid in this project.

Easy to use, it can access both from the platform and from web browsers, which helps me translate anywhere and not just in front of a computer.

**What do you dislike about TextUnited?**

There's no Spell Checker for PT and no way to count the characters, making it challenging when the project has character limitations.
The TM is also not adapted to the Portuguese (Portugal) market.

It's a practical tool that allows me to work from anywhere.

There are a few bugs that appear sparingly. Soemtimes suggested translations get too crowded with suggestions that are almsot dientical (97-99% with tiny variations).
