I think Property Point is a pretty intuitive way to track accounts and stay on top of deadlines, the interface is easy to understand. As for OPT, it makes the action of completing mass personal property returns a lot faster versus doing it out of a platform like excel. I like that I do not have to complete by hand the return forms for every return and can have everything autogenerate. **What do you dislike about tax.com?** On Property Point there are occasional random glitches that can lead to inaccurate information that I have noticed particularly when pulling SMART reports, but overall it is a good platform. OPT I find to not be intuitive to use and it glitches very frequently, making it hard to trust the output. I have spent many additional hours combing through and identifying OPTs mistakes and trying to get them corrected repeatedly without success. The Unclaimed Property Module (Tracker Pro) is good as well. It allows us to send Due Diligence Letters via automated mailing which previously consumed a large amount of my time. Reporting is customizable. That may seem boring but it really helps a great deal when different internal staff members require different types of reporting. **What do you dislike about tax.com?** It is quite expensive and if you are small then you will definitely notice it. Setup is also lengthy. More than 2 months before you are able to run things the way you want. So do not expect to turn it on and be done. Sometimes it can be frustrating to make changes or to "flip" the year in the system. Its easy to use; pretty self explanatory. Report running is great, the state filing reports is great, and I like that its customizable to whatever I need. Although the software is great, I would say my favorite thing is the customer service. They will answer any question through email or phone calls. They are always willing to help out. I have had instances where they have gone step by step with me for something. The zoom informational calls they have are a great help too. A few years ago, I had dinner with the unclaimed team and other users, we chatted about our likes and dislikes and soon after most of the items were added/resolved. I was quite impressed. I really enjoy being their customer. **What do you dislike about tax.com?** I only have one negative item, searching by a name inside the software isn't super user friendly. However, its very easy to export your data to excel in seconds. Any time we have an issue and I reach out, they respond within the hour and they are always super helpful. They will ask questions and meet with me until they are able to find a solution to my question/issue. In addition to that, I have worked with a couple non-support related individuals and they are also always super helpful and responsive. Also, going from Tracker Classic to Tracker Pro was really eye opening and shows how great the Ryan team is. Tracker Pro was a huge improvement versus Tracker Classic. Tracker Pro is much easier to use and it wasn't much of a learning curve to go from Classic to Pro in my opinion. This is an application I use almost everyday and I have trained multiple people to use it, and it is usually a pretty quick and easy process, which is not the case with many other applications I use. **What do you dislike about tax.com?** A couple issues I have had in the past with Ryan are cost related. Firstly being Ryan mail. We were very excited when we saw that solution advertised, but once seeing the cost we realized it was extremely unaffordable. I don't remember the exact cost, but I do recall it being upwards of $2 for each piece of mail which in my opinion, was not worth it. Additionally, I do have a couple complaints about Tracker Pro itself. Currently, the format of one of our .txt files is incompatable with Tracker Pro, forcing us to do the upload into Tracker Classic and then export it to get into Tracker Pro. The Ryan team has been super helpful in getting us a solution to this issue, however, to me it seems as though this feature of Tracker Pro has regressed compared to Tracker Classic. It doesn't make much sense to me when something that worked fine in Classic no longer works in Pro. However, all in all my complaints are very minor compared to the postive experiences I've had with Ryan. **What problems is tax.com solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Ryan for Tracker Pro for our unclaimed property filings. It is great at helping us track all of the records that we owe customers and vendors. I have been participating in the unclaimed property process for 7+ years and I have only ever used Tracker. Tracker is great and has always provided all the features we need, however, I also don't have anything to compare it to in terms of competing solutions. My team is working with Steve Overbeck now to possibly transition us to to a hosted agreement and solve our upload problems. We were told that this solution could improve performance (sometimes when querying specific records it will take 30 seconds to 1 minute to load the record), elminiate our need for Tracker Classic, and automatically perform upgrades. These would be great solutions to issues we have been having and further shows how helpful the support team at Ryan is! ### 19. At the time we knew very little about unclaimed property. We found the subject of unclaimed property compliance to be very complicated, but the Tracker Pro software does a great job of keeping you in compliance with the tools and software they provide along with their superior customer service. Their release documentation is easy to read, their in person training (Deb Kimball) is very thorough and easy to follow. Technical support (Laurie Taylor) and product development (Marta Bauer) are always easy to work with and on top of all the compliance updates issued by all the states. Their informative conferences and webinars provide the knowledge and information we need along with networking opportunies. Their in depth knowledge of unclaimed property and how to administer it is key to developing a great product. We're looking forward to their expertise & guidance as NAUPA III format is rolled out. **What do you dislike about tax.com?** To be honest, I have not used any other unclaimed property solutions so i can't compare. The only negative I can think of is that we are unable to be hosted, but that is due to our own company restrictions. The software itself is easy to navigate, has many bulk updating features, and customizable reports. The implementation team was very knowledgeable, and I appreciated the trainings on the varioius aspects of the software using my software instance. **What do you dislike about tax.com?** The original data information request from the implementation team was detailed, but there were some columns that didn't have enough information for our team to understand their use. There was also additional functionality in the software that our team was unaware of from the start. After discovery of this additional functionality, our team had to revise and update the data import template for this new information. It would have been great to know about this before starting the data information request. **What problems is tax.com solving and how is that benefiting you?** Before Tax.com Property Tax Solutions, we manually updated shared excel spreadsheets with the various compliance, AV, accrual information on a monthly basis. The process lacked controls around who was responsible for preparation / review, we frequently encountered version control issues as well. Now with the software, we have a one-stop shop for compliance, appeals, accrual, and information storing processes. This saves us significant time and headache. We can assign specific tasks to specific individuals, and can assign review tasks to the correct individuals. Using the property tax calendar, we can make sure that we never miss a payment, filing due date, or appeal date again. ### 21. Customer service in the past year (2024) has been very responsive and helpful, especially as our company users were ramping up. While there's definitely an initial investment to learn the system and set up your processes, it pays off quickly with time savings and consistency. I now have multiple team members using the tool efficiently, and the ability to leverage modules and update reports year over year is invaluable. I've seen a lot of transfer pricing tools come and go, but this one has stood the test of time (originally Crossborder Solutions, then Thomson Reuters Transfer Pricing Documenter, now Tax.com Transfer Pricing Documenter). If you're serious about streamlining your transfer pricing documentation, this is the tool for you. **What do you dislike about tax.com?** Documenting complex entities and transactions (e.g., cost sharing or residual profit split) is possible in the tool but not simple. That said, these methods require more customization and experience than maybe a tool like this is expected to require. So, I feel like they care about what they do and that is why I stayed with Ryan's Unclaimed Property Solutions and didn’t switch to another vendor. Compared to the Tracker Classic. Tracker Pro is Ryan's new unclaimed property solutions. It’s easy to use and I can tailor the needs accordingly. I can upload and download data with my excel spreadsheets. It is easy to map and create custom reports. Since I have a large volume of data, the group modify feature became one of my favors. It saves me time to make changes and avoid mistakes. With its security features, I can custom and create various roles and responsibilities. I love this feature so much. Because, I don't have to worry about what types of sensitive information my student helpers can see or if they made change to certain fields. I can just blank out the fields or I can disable certain features. So, they can't accidentally made some kind of change. I also love how easy it is to use the links for various state websites. All the State specific information is there. I don't need to research myself. And the updates from Ryan keep my system current. So, I don't have to worry about if I missed something. These are just a few reasons why I stayed with Ryan all these years.
