I have taken multiple trainings and created numerous events on the platform, which are easy to set up and start. **What do you dislike about Strigo?** Sometimes, the students are not able to navigate the platform correctly, and I also think the user interface can be improved. There are places where it's not adequately mentioned what that button can do. **What problems is Strigo solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed a training platform that could create servers on the fly without having to create complex scripts to start and destroy a server. With Strigo we can create servers on the fly... ### 2. I love how simple it is to set up templates, events, and training courses. It's user-friendly for both trainers and trainees, and I wouldn't use anything else! **What do you dislike about Strigo?** While already pretty far along, Strigo still has a little bit of growing to do before it will be able to compete with more established platforms. There are still some features that I wish it had, but I still don't think there's a better alternative for someone new to the field. **What problems is Strigo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Strigo made it very easy for us to create and assign learning courses to employees. All of our company training went through Strigo, which was a seamless process from start to finish. ### 3. Ability to see what is going on in student labs. **What do you dislike about Strigo?** My screen size for the terminal can be influenced by student screen sizes and limit actual viewing space. **What problems is Strigo solving and how is that benefiting you?** We don't have to set up and deploy scripts in cloud environments every time we are running classes. Saves time and costs by having the templates set up in Strigo and deploying with a click of a button. ### 4. Students can easily request assistance in their virtual machines, and it is effortless for TAs to assist. There are no additional passwords to access the virtual machine, and I can track what the students are doing very easily. I can also use the same system to provide virtual machines for our certification process, and I automate that system via the REST API. The Strigo support team is also very responsive. **What do you dislike about Strigo?** I would like to be able to record my presentations without showing the Instructor interface. Additional polling features would be helpful too. **Recommendations to others considering Strigo:** Make sure you are also familiar with the creation and maintenance of AWS EC2 instances and images. Make sure you have a good webcam and microphone. **What problems is Strigo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Strigo fully replaces 3 separate systems we used to have to navigate to present an online course: GoToWebinar (for the webinar), Remote Desktop (for the virtual machine), and VNC (for assistance). ### 5. Provisioning and management of the instances was okay until we also wanted to empower students to access these environments from a user-friendly console that allowed them to perform simple tasks like reboot and pause. Additionally, instructors in the past had to know the IP of a student's machine to troubleshoot. The overall lab delivery was cumbersome. Enter Strigo, and all of that pain was removed. We were able to quickly get our AWS AMI's available to Strigo thru their management console. When we ran class events, instructors could effortlessly jump into a student's environment to help, and students were able to access a stable and easy to use interface to get into their lab environments. Today 100% of our labs are run out of Strigo. **What do you dislike about Strigo?** Knowing the Strigo is rapidly evolving, it's understandable that some of the features that I would like to see in a platform are not available yet. However, they listen to their customers and openly share their roadmap. **What problems is Strigo solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were able to get out of the devops business of lab environment management. This allowed us to focus on lab development and give more attention to other aspects of the training program. ### 6. Great online teaching environment! **Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Oscar Timothy W. | Lead FME Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2021 **What do you like best about Strigo?** Strigo made the creation of online classes and classrooms easy during the COVID-lockdown and work-from-home/. **What do you dislike about Strigo?** Interaction features for students within the classroom are still limited (students sharing a screen, or students helping eachother), but some are in development, which is a good thing. **Recommendations to others considering Strigo:** Strigo uses standard virtual stack images or custom images (Amazon Machine Images), be aware of this limitation when migrating your own training environment. **What problems is Strigo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Strigo was our solution when we had to migrate our on-site training facilities into a digital classroom, and it effectively gave us a larger reach of students, and continuation of business. ### 8. The biggest dislike I think right now would be the inability for an email address to be associated with multiple accounts. **What problems is Strigo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Strigo has solved turnkey lab management in an all-in-one environment. We have realized more time to produce content and teach and less time worrying about operations. ### 10. Trainees jsute have to click on a button to call for support which is very easy to do. Strigo is very easy to use and all trainees gave excellent feedback about the platform. In more than 10 session (3d/session), I never had streaming problem. The platform is very stable. The support answers very quickly and users feedback are implemented. The customization of lab using cloud-init is also very simple. **What do you dislike about Strigo?** Nothing ! Everything works very well... Maybe the price is little bit expensive... but it's definitely worth it. **Recommendations to others considering Strigo:** It just work, it's easy, and trainees like it... What else? **What problems is Strigo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Using Strigo, I don't have to manage infrastructure (with terraform?) to provide labs, Strigo do it for me ! I can up my labs, and destroy it at the end of the session without any knowledge. In addition I can follow my trainees during labs (what I can't do when I use gmeet or something else). I don't have to share my screen, Strigo manage slides for me. ### 11. For both the on-demand and ILT courses we were able to provide a great experience for our users and they always share positive feedback about the platform with us. Also very reactive support, we sometimes face some issues but the support is always here to help us. **What do you dislike about Strigo?** When using Strigo you will have to use AWS and not other providers. **What problems is Strigo solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are creating virtual environments for our students for both On-demand and ILT courses ### 12. Now, we can make them remotely with ease. It also solved the problem of participant who cannot install putty & co on their computer, wery nice ! ### 13. In general - no real complaints. **Recommendations to others considering Strigo:** If you need training labs that always work with all the necessary tooling - look no further! **What problems is Strigo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Before Strigo preparing training labs was painful and costly. We had to prepare extra detailed instructions and then visit the customer's site to make sure things work. And even with that - unexpected stuff like filrewalls, proxies and OS incompatibilities would cause us delays and distress during the training itself. With Strigo we prepare the lab once and all the students need is a browser with standard internet access. It saves us at least one working day for each workshop we provide. Tens of thousands of dollars per year. Works in even the most air-gapped environments.
