# Which is the best payment software for SaaS companies managing recurring billing and subscription revenue?

Cleverbridge: Operates as a merchant of record specifically for global software sales, combining payments, subscriptions, tax, and compliance in one system rather than requiring separate tools for each.

BlueSnap: Built to support subscription services specifically, with automated accounts receivable that catches failed renewal payments before they become churned revenue.

Spreedly: As a payments orchestration layer, it lets a SaaS company route subscription transactions through multiple payment services without having to rebuild billing logic for each one.

PayPal Payments: Supports transactions across 200+ markets and 140 currencies, which matters once a SaaS company's subscriber base goes international.

FreshBooks: Runs billing and books on one platform, which smaller SaaS teams sometimes prefer over a dedicated payments-only tool when accounting and invoicing need to stay connected.

BlueSnap's automated accounts receivable catching failed renewals before they turn into churn is a smart way to frame the problem. For us involuntary churn was almost entirely a billing and dunning issue, not customers actually deciding to leave.
