## Stream Reviews
  ### 1. Stream Makes Real-Time Chat Integration Effortless for Developers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ahsan Y. | Customer Account Manager, Legal Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Stream?**

I really like how Stream provides a powerful, developer-friendly API for building chat and activity feed features quickly. The documentation is clear, SDKs are well-structured, and the integration process feels smooth. It saves a huge amount of development time compared to building real-time chat or feed systems from scratch.

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

There isn’t much to complain about, though the pricing may seem somewhat steep for smaller projects or startups, particularly as user numbers grow. Some of the more advanced customization features also demand a solid grasp of the SDKs, which might be difficult for those just starting out. Furthermore, a handful of features would benefit from additional examples or tutorials to help make the onboarding process quicker.

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me, Stream takes away the hardest parts of building real-time chat features — things like managing sockets, scaling servers, and handling message delivery. Before using Stream, I spent way too much time trying to get chat to work smoothly. Now I can focus on the parts of my app that make it unique, while Stream handles the heavy lifting behind the scenes. It’s saved me a ton of development time and made my app feel much more professional and reliable.

  ### 2. Effortless Integration and Excellent Documentation for Developers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vikas K. | Senior Software Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Stream?**

As working as developer, building chat or activity feeds are headache, it takes lot of time in coding and setting up things, stream took of all that with simple API and good documentation, integration was easy and fast, i have integrated stream in few projects now, the SDK's are easy to work with

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

the documentation is good, but i wish there would be some more real world documentation with asp.net examples, setting up authentication and token was bit hard

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it saved lot of time implementing the chat features, previously we used to take almost 2 week to set it up and write the code, now it is super easy to setup and we can work on other things instead of spending week on this, the SDK and document are straight froward, integrates well with modern framework

  ### 3. Extremely simple Feed tech to implement, but pricing is excessive

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leonardo M. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Stream?**

This product delivers on its promises. The API is thoughtfully organized, and the documentation is sufficiently clear, making integration a straightforward process. You can set up a working feed system quickly, avoiding the hassle of building one from scratch. It has proven to be reliable and maintains good performance during typical usage.

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

The pricing is far higher than what seems reasonable for most use cases. As your user base expands, the costs increase at an unreasonable rate. It gives the impression that the platform is designed primarily for enterprises unconcerned with budget limitations. The dashboard is quite basic, the analytics offer little value, and after the initial months, the overall value simply doesn't match the price.

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps speed up development when you need to deliver a feed or chat system without building one from scratch. It saves engineering time and avoids maintaining real-time infrastructure internally. It’s mostly a trade-off: you pay to move faster in early stages.

Over time, the benefit drops as the cost rises. It’s useful to validate a product or feature quickly, but scaling with Stream can become financially impractical.

I have a personal health-app with stream,

  ### 4. Effortless Video Sharing with Stream, But Upload Speed and Search Need Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pradyumn G. | Project Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Stream?**

I like Stream application because it is easy to use and connects well with teams and SharePoint. It makes the video sharing and training simple for everyone. It saves meeting recordings automatically and provides captions, helping teams to stay organized.

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

Video uploads in Stream can be slow at times, and the search option does not always find specific content easily. Limited storage and basic analytics make it hard to manage large videos.

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stream helps me to store and share the meeting recordings and trainings videos in one place. It improves collaboration and saves a lot of precious time. It makes communication easier across teams.

  ### 5. Experiencing new

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Stream?**

I like how simple Stream is to use and how quickly you can get helpful answers and share ideas with others.

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

What I dislike about Stream is that sometimes questions don’t get answered quickly, and it can be hard to find older discussions or follow-ups.

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stream makes it easy to get answers when I’m stuck or unsure about something. It saves me time and helps me understand things better through other people’s insights.

  ### 6. Smooth experience and easy integration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Supermarkets | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Stream?**

Stream makes it simple to build chat and activity feed features without spending hours coding everything from scratch.

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

Sometimes the setup can feel a bit complex at first, especially for beginners.

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stream helps me build real-time chat and activity feeds without having to manage complex backend infrastructure. It saves a lot of development time and ensures that messages and updates are delivered quickly and reliably.

  ### 8. Dealer-FX: Boosting Communication Efficiency & User Retention with Stream

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2024

**What do you like best about Stream?**

Stream's Chat API has been super helpful for Dealer-FX, making it easy our customers to connect and communicate better. We were able to build a really simple, but customized communication platform using Stream's flexible API that supports direct messaging and group chats. This integration has been really important in keeping 90% of our users engaged.

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

We're pretty happy with Stream and all the benefits it's brought to our operations, but we feel like we could be getting even more out of it. It would be awesome if we could get more proactive guidance on how to use all of Stream's features, especially some of the more advanced stuff like slash command updates, AI chat, or voice and video chat options. If we could hear about best practices and cool ways other industries are using Stream, that would really help us unlock some new communication capabilities on our platform.

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stream Chat addresses the challenge of creating a scalable, efficient communication platform for dealership coordination and customer engagement. This solution allows us to integrate advanced chat functionalities, including automated group messaging and direct 1:1 chats, into our service offerings. The benefit for Dealer-FX is twofold: it significantly improves our operational efficiency by ensuring all departments are synchronized, and it enhances the customer service experience, evidenced by our 90% user retention rate. This streamlined communication capability is crucial for maintaining high levels of satisfaction both internally among staff and externally with our customers, fostering a more transparent and responsive service environment.

  ### 9. Efficient and easy-to-use platform, with a couple growing pains

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua C. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Stream?**

For the most part, it's been quite easy to implement Stream in our mobile apps and integrate with some associated internal services. It worked out-of-the-box for the vast majority of our needs, and it's been pretty flexible for some unique use cases in our business. The API and SDK documentation has overall been thorough, accurate, and easy to consume.

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

Our team has encountered a couple bugs, both transparently in the SDK and more opaquely in the platform. For example, some unknown change in their platform caused images in our app to miss their CDN for an extended period of time. Their support/success managers are usually quick with an intial response, but often need to involve technical team members with, unsurpisingly, less expedient communication.

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Out teams previously used an in-house chat service that offered only a fraction of the features of Stream. Making use of Stream has broadened the chat features we're able to offer our customers, and standardized our implementation across multiple apps, in a more reliable and cost-effective way than would have been likely with continued in-house development.

  ### 10. Replaced an 8 Year Old Messaging System with Stream Chat

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dean P. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Stream?**

Stream is feature rich with a great development environment.

The Technical and Support Staff are very good.

The end result is a well integrated Chat System that supports FamilySearch and our yearly RootsTech Conference. We had over 600,000 messages sent in Feb. 2024.

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

Some issues arose, but resolved promptly by the Stream Chat team.

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We don't have to be experts with Chat. Stream's hosted services and development environment allowed us to focus on turning FamilySearch into a collaborative environment.

We have Chat integrated in our Core Services. Our Patrons can stay in context with their task while receiving help and communicating with friends, family, and other patrons.

  ### 11. Easily migrated from old messaging solution to Stream without a hitch

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashik M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Stream?**

Our migration to Stream went off without a hitch.

Integration was really easy.

The Stream team was very helpful during integration to help us implement our tech.

When we flipped the switch to migrate, it went off without a hitch.

Operations have been super easy since - we haven't had any issues.

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

No real issues so far. The tech has been good, and the Stream people have been great!

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's the solution we use for our in-app chat between players.

  ### 12. Development experience of using Stream Chat for early stage app development

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jia Z. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2023

**What do you like best about Stream?**

I've been using stream chat for over a year and can share some of my 1st-year experience and why I chose Stream Chat for my app. What attracted me initially was the list of features and the price point, which were reasonable and scalable. Five nines availability, GDPR and HIPAA compliance, TS React client and UI library, updates and an active GitHub community were all ticks on my checklist. If you've never built a chat app before, this is an excellent place to start with plenty of support docs and videos you can find on YOutube. Using Stream Chat has been a positive learning experience for me. If you're learning and are comfortable with HTML/CSS but new to Javascript or a framework like React, the documentation is excellent at teaching how to customise the app while building your MVP. It's also free for makers so it really lowers the barriers, to turn ideas and concepts into products and features.

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

So far, so good. In some cases, I've had to dissect and customise the code for my own use for improved performance and new features, but that was expected due to all the features supported in the provided SDK and UI components. My only wish is there was some sort of Discord or Slack community where users could support each other.

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stream Chat helps to lower the cost and difficulty of accessing high-availability custom messaging as a platform for early-stage product development and scale growth. With stream chat, I can turn my ideas into features for my app and support future growth with five-nines availability and GDPR HIPAA compliance.

  ### 13. Easy to access and very fast, which is what is needed

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lydia. F M. | Account Manager, Automotive, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2024

**What do you like best about Stream?**

Easy to configure and the ability to customize the widget and create faces of teammates is very nice.

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

I haven't experienced any significant drawbacks. My experience with the app has been very good.

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its nice to chat with our website visitors and track their presence. It has auto-replies so I don't have to waste time writing everything.

  ### 14. It is excellent and stable solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose F. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Stream?**

We are using per almost 2 years. It is very robust for us to embed inside our solutions. Great support and Stream.IO team is always available to share knowledege about new functionalities.

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

Stream.IO can improve the process to communicate new functionalities.

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Putting our users in contact and speed up sharing knowledge

  ### 15. Quick to set up, excellent support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cristi G. | Product Manager, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Stream?**

We've had a very positive experience with Stream chat, starting with the experience we've had with their support team, that were very responsive, and even agreed to further support us while in beta prior to our initial public release. The front-end SDK is also very handy, as our engineering team made the most of that and didn't have to code everything from scratch.

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

Even though the team graciously agreed on extending our trial period, we ended up having to pay for the subscription for a couple of months while we were still in development. Also, the Figma UI kit feels a bit outdated.

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were able to quickly plug in a chat solution for our SaaS, which otherwise would have cost us many months of development, thus allowing us more time and energy to focus on our core business. Chat is - of course - an important part of the tool's offering, but we didn't have the reinvent the wheel.

  ### 16. Stream Chat: A Robust and Customisation Chat SDK for Building a Great Chat Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jay G. | Software Developer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Stream?**

Stream Chat is a chat SDK that allows you to easily build chat functionality into your app. It has a wide range of features such as real-time messaging, group chat, push notifications, and more. Additionally, it is flexible and customizable, allowing you to tailor the chat experience to your specific needs. If a friend or colleague is looking to build chat functionality into an app, Stream Chat would be a good option to consider.

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

I'm not aware of any specific issues with Stream Chat, but as with any software, there may be bugs or compatibility issues that arise. It's always a good idea to thoroughly test any software before deploying it in a production environment. Additionally, it's important to keep the SDK and dependencies up to date to ensure that any known issues have been resolved. If you do encounter an issue while using Stream Chat, you can reach out to the Stream Chat support team for assistance. They may be able to help you troubleshoot and resolve the problem.

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getstream.io Chat is a chat SDK that allows developers to easily build chat functionality into their apps. It provides a set of features and tools that makes it easy to create real-time chat systems, group chats, and push notifications. This allows developers to create engaging and interactive chat experiences for their users, which can improve user engagement and retention. Additionally, Getstream.io Chat is flexible and customizable, which allows developers to tailor the chat experience to their specific needs. This can enable them to create a chat experience that is tailored to their users and aligns with the overall user experience of their app. Overall, Getstream.io Chat helps developers to build better chat experiences for their users, which can lead to improved engagement and retention.

  ### 17. Ideal solution for real-time chat, notification, and activity feeds

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jack C. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Stream?**

The SDK was super simple to set up, and we were able to use the React components to spin up our live chat feature extremely quickly. It was one of the quickest integrations with a third-party provider that we've had.

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

Overall, I've been very pleased. One challenge we did have was around version upgrades. Stream could do a bit better providing a "changelog" between version upgrades that would make it a bit easier. From a product perspective though, the stability and performance have been ideal - no issues there.

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted to integrate a live-chat into our Zoom-based application, but knew this was a "Can of worms". Stream helped us implement this quickly to prove out the feature use cases, and ended up being robust enough where it was an easy choice to keep them as a provider.

  ### 18. VP of Operations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Stream?**

We have used Stream for the last 6 months to power our chat messaging. It was really helpful to get the standard chat messaging features integrated into our user experience. Our users were delighted to see chat messaging get added quickly with all of the standard features like ... for typing, reactions to messages, threaded replies and editing of messages.

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

Stream Chat takes a bit of leg work from our engineering team to register the user in Stream. The data is hosted on Stream instead of our database so it requires our APIs to speak with each other.

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stream Chat is helping us facilitate live chat conversations between our users who are looking to support each other for career development and mentorship relationships.

  ### 19. Modern, scalable chat solutions with turn-key SDKs for easy integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff S. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Stream?**

Stream chat has been both easy to integrate and easy to grow. Support is fantastic for any issues that may arise. Customization has been considered from the start, which has allowed us to integrate Stream Chat seamlessly into our product. Frequent updates and good documentation provide a nice developer experience as well.

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

Chat is unavoidably opinionated when thinking about all the variables at play. Integrating Stream Chat in a way that leans into the choices and opinions is a straightforward experience. Our highly customized integration required a bit of back-and-forth with support. The their credit, support was always eager to help us solve our issues.

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stream Chat allows us to focus on building our business IP and not worry about creating and maintaining a robust peer-to-peer communication experience. The ease of integration made our developers happy as well.

**Official Response from LaRae Richards:**

> Thank you for your review of Stream Chat! We are happy that you can focus development efforts on the core elements of your business while trusting our chat API to take care of the P2P communication experience reliably. We appreciate the feedback.

  ### 20. Stream Chat an easy way to add an advanced chat in your app/service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christian D. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Stream?**

Stream Chat provides a way to add a chat in your service or app. We liked we could integrate and use it in a very short time. The chat is well done, provides a lot of nice features and can be used in the web and in mobile apps.

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

We like Stream Chat and we do not have any specific thing we dislike. Maybe a lower price could be even better.

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Stream Chat we did not need to reinvent the wheel and build a chat from scratch. Our main business is not building chat apps. The other benefit is that we can use it on many different platforms (web, iOS, Android, etc.) thanks to its SDKs.

  ### 21. Stream Chat - Purpose-built, robust, scalable, and well-supported.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Stream?**

If you're looking to build community-driven features that are intuitive and familiar to your users, in order to facilite one-to-one, or many-to-many conversations, then Stream Chat is a compelling option. The plug-and-play nature of Stream Chat, and the many examples provided, allowed us to build a jaw-dropping proof-of-concept in no time at all, and showcase the feasibility of integrating desirable chat capabilities into our app. Finally, Stream Chat stands up to rigorous analysis against its competitors and wins hands down when considering the combination of: scalability, developer experience, customizability / extensibility, security, and content moderation. Finally, the level of support offered by the Stream team has been incredible - this is clearly a company that is playing the long game in terms of building customer relationships.

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

The only major downside of Stream Chat is its cost. Even at the cheapest price point, it is super-expensive, and compromises affordability, especially for small organisations. Without doubt, it is drastically cheaper than building any of the features outright, but there ought to be more flexible and tolerant pricing options for products that are pre-revenue.

A minor gripe is that the strategic relationship between Stream Chat and its sister product Stream Activity Feeds isn't always clear, so makes it difficult to forward plan on the technical roadmap.

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quickly integrating chat functionality into our app, adding powerful community features to our app.
Abstracting away the infrastructure of the community features - we have no need to think about how these scale as we scale.
Providing in-built content moderation capabilities [that are ever-expanding] - this gives re-assurance to our end users that we can manage the community submissions, and allows us to meet compliance requirements with ease.

  ### 22. Easy to use and well-documented, with good support for a variety of programming languages

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nairoua S. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Stream?**

Ease of integration - Quite easy to integrate stream into your in app messaging platform. There's also good support from the stream team.
Additionally, theres support for a variety of programming languages which makes it easier for developers to use the language they are comfortable with. Highly recommended

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

The pricing model is abit too high and there's lack of self-hosting.

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps developers to easily add chat and messaging functionality to their applications. With the robust set of APIs we've been able to add in app messaging to our platform and that helps us in delivering telemedicine which is healthcare service delivery at a distance

  ### 23. Easy to use, reliable and with excellent support from the provider.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lionel D. | Product Development director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Stream?**

Integration with Stream Chat was easy to do. The provided SDK is excellent for the different platform (web, mobile). The support given by the provider is super fast and very high quality. The platform itself is reliable and no hickup occured since we have started using it.

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

The platform itself doesn't suffer from any problem. We had some issues with the billing (received twice) but Stream admit immediately the mistake and it didn't have any consequences.

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Steam chat was the easiest way to help our customers to chat between each other. Beeing a platform used cross the entire europe, the translation mechanism was super important for us.

  ### 24. I have enjoyed using stream, especially for its bulk messaging abilities

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ndubuisi O. | Senior Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Stream?**

The flexibility of Streams APIs is advantageous if you want to send messages programmatically rather than rely on widgets.

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

The documentation is not very clear on some general use cases. An example is that the documentation assumes that messages are sent between a sender and a receiver immediately after a channel is created, this is hardly the case.

The actual flow creates a channel between two persons, saves the Getstream URL, and then uses the saved Getstream URL to find the channel to send a message when needed.

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stream chat allows our customer success teams to interact with our customers.

  ### 25. Easy to implement but missing many features

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Stream?**

It has a UI toolkit for flutter out of the box using the stream_chat_flutter library. This makes chatting integration extremely easy.

The examples in the GitHub repo are easy-to-understand works without any extra steps.

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

The Flutter library is incomplete compared to native Android and iOS libraries missing many features.

Also, the FCM push notification needs service account keys, which is a significant security threat.

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently, in our app, the users are paired with other 2 random users, and we provide a WhatsApp button to the users to connect with the other users. But not everyone uses WhatsApp. Hence an inbuilt chatting service would truly connect everyone using the app, which is solved by Stream Chat.

  ### 26. Great Service

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chirag J. | Product Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Stream?**

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ted M. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Stream?**

We looked at Sendbird and one other vendor, but our decision came down to all of the different libraries, documentation, and tutorials Stream had. Those sold us more than anything. I wanted to launch a feature-rich chat solution fast. And I felt that the Stream Chat product and React Native SDK were very mature. We like using Stream's push notifications as an engagement tactic to drive users back to the app, we see a 75% retention rate for our chat users.

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

We would like it if Stream Chat could enable users to easily jump back to older conversations with their chat channels.

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In-app chat and deal negotiation on cards

**Official Response from LaRae Richards:**

  ### 47. Stream Chat has enabled our social commerce to thrive

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Russell P. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Stream?**

Stream Chat is simple to implement, has excellent performance and has proved to be extremely reliable for almost two years of being relied upon to provide the chat and augmented chat experiences for social commerce (polls/reactions/check-ins)

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

I can't think of anything particularly negative, except perhaps from us having to shoehorn certain functionality where it could be supported explicitly (eg. reactions within chat across timeline of chat)

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We initially used Stream Chat to test a social commerce experience with live video and customer chat on our e-commerce website. It has enabled us to grow our community and connect our users in a way that would be impossible without the immediacy and feedback provided by live group chat.

**Official Response from LaRae Richards:**

> Thank you for your review, Russell! It's wonderful to hear how you've leveraged Stream Chat to build a strong community within your user base. We're glad that you've found Stream's performance to be high and reliable, too. If you think of any ways we could improve our product, please send them our way. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience with Stream Chat.

  ### 48. Fast and reliable

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard T. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Stream?**

I like the speed Stream Chat works as far as integration goes the best. When using the actual chatting feature, we're able to see our responses show up almost immediately

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

The integration with the API is a bit rough... for one, the Java client as it stands right now isn't fully flushed out yet, but being actively worked on AFAIK. The way they build their API is to be extremely flexible, but this flexibility becomes very annoying to handle all the null cases in Java. The documentation also isn't fully developed/updated. There are webhook events for example that don't exist in the documentation but can be received...

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are providing our users a chatting service that aims to keep users within our app's ecosystem. Stream fulfills that role by providing us chat as a backend and the SDKs to implement from a mobile perspective as well

**Official Response from LaRae Richards:**

> Thank you for your review, Richard! We are so glad to hear you're enjoying the speed and efficiency of Stream Chat. We are constantly looking for ways to improve, so we greatly appreciate your constructive feedback regarding the flexibility of our API and documentation! Thank you again for sharing your experience with Stream Chat!

  ### 49. Review of stream chat

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Stream?**

Lots of built in features, specifically the flagged messages list

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

So many features that there's a learning curve

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

let's our app have chat capabilites

**Official Response from LaRae Richards:**

> Thank you for reviewing Stream Chat! I'm glad you've enjoyed our out-of-the-box features and that they've helped you to create a richer, more dynamic chat experience for your app users. ### 50. The best solution for a quick, stable, and feature packed chat system.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Events Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Stream?**

I like the number of features already built within the SDK that allows us to utilize within our systems with realitive ease. In addition, when those features are used, we rarely have any issues with them. In our case, our chat solution is rarely a problem.

**What do you dislike about Stream?**

The overall cost is pretty high when compared to rolling our own solution. Obviously, Stream Chat is a business offering a fantastic battery of features, and the price is pretty reasonable given the feature set. If we ever leave stream chat, it would not be a move to a different competitor but rather our own solution.

**What problems is Stream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem that Stream Chat solves is mainly providing a complete feature set of chat functionality that frees us up to work on other parts of our product without needing to focus on this part of our application

**Official Response from LaRae Richards:**

> Thank you for reviewing Stream Chat! We're so glad to hear you're enjoying the features within your Chat SDK. Saving you time to spend on other areas of your app is our ultimate goal, so we are thrilled that you are leveraging Stream to do just that. We believe that our product is priced at a level commensurate with its value and appreciate that you recognize that. Thank you again for taking the time to leave thoughtful feedback.
