# What can Zoom Workplace users do to keep call quality steady on an unstable connection?

Video quality and screen sharing are what Zoom Workplace is known for, so I've been looking at what users can do to keep call quality steady on an unstable connection. From what people write on G2, the network is the main factor: on an unstable connection, audio and video can lag or a meeting can take a moment to reconnect. A stable connection for the calls that matter, particularly when presenting, is the answer people give, and on a reliable connection Zoom is a favourite for teaching and presenting, with AI meeting summaries on top.

In video conferencing, call quality depends on the connection at each end as much as the platform, and someone on patchy Wi-Fi notices it in their own audio and video first. With a solid connection, Zoom fits classes, presentations and screen-share walkthroughs well.

Situations I'd like to compare:

Presenting from home Wi-Fi

Joining from mobile data while travelling

A large meeting with many cameras on

What's your routine before an important call? And which setting made the biggest difference to call quality for you?

A wired connection before big presentations is my go-to. On a solid connection, the video quality and screen sharing are excellent.
