My spotlight team feels like an extension of our Analyst Relations team. They are invested in our success, and bring a level of operational discipline to the program. There are times when I forget Spotlight is an external agency (this is a good thing!) - however, sometimes that leads to more steps or guidance when I am working with them. Don't use them just as administrative helpers, although they are great at that too. Definitely plan to attend their annual spotlight conference in Kansas City in the fall -its a great way to meet other AR pros and they do a fabulous job with the content and experience. As a one person AR team, Spotlight helps me scale my program in ways I could never do as a solo practitioner. While we love the working relationship that we have with Spotlight, using their Oz tool for tracking analyst interactions and recording insights has at times been a little tumultuous. Spotlight has many large and small clients and this is a one size fits all kind of tool. I think there have been times that our company and team have stretched the Oz tool beyond what it was originally intended to do. I will say that Spotlight has tried to be very proactive about addressing concerns with the tool when they have arisen. Spotlight helps us own our customer voice through G2 and GPI which we wouldn't be able to do on our own. They are seen as an extension of our team as trusted partners who are aligned to making us leaders in not just ranking reports but also in the analyst perception.
