The ability to trace deep into a transaction tree and have surfaced for you the focus points on an API or experience issue. Plus the implementation and ease of use once learned is in a class of it's own. Feature and a la carte product offereing makes Splunk a great partner for business use cases. Splunk synthetic monitoring helped with overall platform monitoring approach from a proactive intrusion detection process. We deployed it to help us build a better find an fix program and automate what would take many into one solution to accomplish. The solution does a great job at raising issues that can easily be tied to user experiences within the web, and steering the user into optimization efforts. The API integration and centralization of products, you can trace the issues to a very deep level. It's easy to use and the learning curve is not too steep.... compared to other products, at least. We were testing tools to test the intrussion detection procedures and maybe, work as a failsafe via closed software in parallell. The idea was, it would help us gauge and mantain a set of procedures, and offer detections for things we were yet to develop.
