"Smooth Interface and Powerful Crypto Module Enhance Efficiency"
What do you like best about SoftLedger?

The interfaces and basic functions are extremely smooth and facilitate efficient and accurate processing. The crypto module is an essential feature for us that works well and feeds cleanly into our ledger. The ability to drill down to source records from the Reporting, Finance, AP and AR module is better than in any other system that I have used. SoftLedger also handles accounting across a group that uses many currencies with a very logical and easy to follow flow. Lastly, we really value the support we have received, either when implementing the system or when searching for advice regarding the most effective way to align our processes to SoftLedger. What do you dislike about SoftLedger?

I would welcome more flexibility to create our own reports and a clearer view of unreconciled items through the Banking screens Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Travis Lander of SoftLedger

Thank you for this review, Matt. We appreciate your time and commitment to SoftLedger.

For unreconciled banking items, be sure to set a default filter for your tables in the Bank Transactions and Bank Statements Reconciliation view to only display journal lines that are not reconciled. This should save you time in dropping into those tables and only seeing the unreconciled journal lines/bank transactions that need your review.

For customized reporting, it can be best to create a custom analytics report through our in app business intelligence tool for any management reporting that might fall outside of the more traditional reports. Let's walk through setting one of those up together.

Thank you again!

"Transformative Multi-Entity Accounting, Needs UI/UX Refinement"
What do you like best about SoftLedger?

I love SoftLedger's native, unified multi-entity accounting, which is a core part of the platform's design. It allows us to manage all entities and cost centers in a single unified ledger without the need for separate logins or exports. The one-click consolidated reporting is a game-changer, as it automatically eliminates intercompany balances and generates accurate, real-time group financials quickly. This feature alone has cut our finance team’s monthly workload significantly. Additionally, the platform supports entity-specific accounting rules and compliance settings all in one dashboard, which is a big plus for our global operations. I also appreciate SoftLedger's seamless integration with ecommerce platforms, which eliminates manual data entry and ensures real-time accounting. This has drastically reduced our accounts receivable recon work by 80%. The setup of SoftLedger was manageable, allowing us to go live within weeks, which is much faster compared to previous solutions like QuickBooks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SoftLedger?

I find SoftLedger's UI/UX clunky and non-intuitive for day-to-day tasks. It feels outdated and unintuitive, especially for repetitive tasks like reconciling bank feeds and creating ad-hoc journal entries. We face bank reconciliation bottlenecks because the tool has a rigid layout without bulk-editing capabilities for matching transactions. Building custom journal entries is unwieldy, requiring navigation through multiple menus, and there's no way to save reusable templates for recurring entries. The search and filter functionality is poor, making it hard to find specific transactions quickly. Our finance team spends more time than necessary on tactical tasks, and onboarding new members also takes longer due to the non-intuitive layout. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Revolutionizing Financial Management with Real-Time Automation"
What do you like best about SoftLedger?

I like SoftLedger's real-time consolidation which turns our month-end into a continuous process. The native crypto module is the best in the market for handling complex cost-basis and FX revaluations seamlessly. The API-first approach automates our most tedious workflows, allowing our finance team to focus more on analysis. The real-time consolidation engine eliminates our reliance on spreadsheets for intercompany eliminations, reducing manual workload by roughly 30 hours a week. The integration with tools like Plaid and Ramp, thanks to its API-first architecture, has nearly eliminated manual data entry for our AP team. The support team was incredibly responsive during data migration, and the platform's intuitive UI made our staff productive within a month. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SoftLedger?

While the platform is a massive upgrade over legacy ERPs, there is room for improvement in workflow flexibility. The process of opening and closing accounting periods is far too manual; you should be able to toggle an entire year at once rather than month-by-month. I also find the batch posting limit of 100 entries to be a bottleneck for our larger entities. Finally, while the crypto subledger is a great start, I’d love to see more native support for DeFi-specific transactions to reduce the need for manual journal entries. "A Modern, Real-Time Accounting Platform That Actually Delivers"
What do you like best about SoftLedger?

SoftLedger’s strongest advantage is its real-time, multi-entity consolidation. It handles complex structures, multi-currency, and inter-company eliminations seamlessly—without the heavy manual work you typically see in other systems. The platform is fast, modern, and cloud-native, with a smart general ledger that’s flexible and easy to adapt to your business. Their API-first architecture also makes integrations straightforward, which has significantly reduced reconciliation time and improved data accuracy for us. Overall, it gives finance leaders a level of visibility and speed that legacy systems simply don’t provide. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SoftLedger?

Reporting is strong, but some highly customized report formats still require a bit of work. Nothing that holds the platform back, but there’s room for additional templates and customization options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Travis Lander of SoftLedger

Thank you for this review, and for your time and commitment to SoftLedger, Derek!

We appreciate your feedback on customized reporting, and are happy you are able to get the reports you need, but will take note on creating more out of the box templated reports.

"Excellent multi-entity accounting platform with great customer service!"
What do you like best about SoftLedger?

SoftLedger's hierarchical "Location" system makes multi-entity accounting a breeze! You can enter all your different entities as locations, keep their individual books separate, and combine them as necessary for rolled-up reporting needs. Plus, being able to do this all on one accounting profile cuts down on software costs and the complication of multiple accounts needed to keep different entities' books separate. And their customer service and responsiveness to feedback is second to none! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SoftLedger?

Very little at this point! When we started with SoftLedger they were still a fairly new company which may have lacked some features of other accounting platforms, but they have been continuously adding functionality and can now do anything that other platforms on the market can. They do focus on auditability in some areas, which can reduce some editing flexibility compared to other platforms, but this is a pretty minor inconvenience and can even be a benefit in many circumstances Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Ryan Luchs of SoftLedger

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review! It is great to hear you're finding value in our multi-entity accounting capabilities. We are continually adding new features as our company grows.

"SoftLedger is an excellent upgrade for multi-entity functionality and reporting"
What do you like best about SoftLedger?

SoftLedger has been a fantastic upgrade for our finance operations. The platform is intuitive and professional, with powerful features like multi-entity management, inter-company transactions, and robust reporting functionality. What really stands out is the support. Both the AI chatbot and the team are responsive and genuinely helpful whenever we need them. It’s a solid system that’s made a real difference as we scale. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SoftLedger?

SoftLedger has been a strong platform overall, but there are a few areas that could be improved. Occasionally, bank connections get unlinked without clear notice, and we’ve run into small glitches here and there. A recommendation for future updates would be to display journal entry imbalance amounts as the entry is being completed. That said, the pros far outweigh the cons. It’s an excellent platform with solid functionality and support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Travis Lander of SoftLedger

Thank you for this excellent review and feedback! See a link to a video that shows how you can see a display to inform you when a journal entry does not balance, as well as click an Auto Balance Journal icon to balance any Journal in the final line of the line items.

What do you like best about SoftLedger?

I appreciate how intuitive and easy to use it is, making it simple to get started. The ability to handle multiple currencies and provide multi-dimensional reporting is very useful. What do you dislike about SoftLedger?

It would be helpful if it could support a spreadsheet for managing monthly prepayments or amortisation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Travis Lander of SoftLedger

Thank you for your review, Eileen. We appreciate your time and commitment to SoftLedger!

On you feedback, you will be glad to know that more automation for entering and managing prepayment and amortization schedules is set to be delivered in the coming months! I will be sure to coordinate with you on that development.

"Efficient Consolidation, Needs More Customization"
What do you like best about SoftLedger?

I find SoftLedger's ease of use particularly beneficial, especially when it comes to switching between entities for accounting purposes. This feature greatly facilitates the management of consolidated accounting across multiple entities, simplifying what could otherwise be a complex and cumbersome process. Additionally, the initial setup of SoftLedger was fairly easy, which helped ensure a smooth transition from QuickBooks. This user-friendly aspect of SoftLedger enhances my experience and makes my accounting tasks more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SoftLedger?

I dislike the limited customization over financial reporting within SoftLedger. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
