SmartLead has a very clean UI, and it's relatively easy to set up/implement. The campaigns are fairly easy to start and then run, and overall organization is fine. I wouldn't write home about it, but it wasn't an issue for me to figure out how to use it fairly quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I came to Smartlead from Instantly, and there are a few things that hold me back from jumping on a plan.

1. It only opens to SmartProspect. I assume that their primary use is for prospecting/lead enrichment, but it's frustrating to not open to a dashboard or a neutral index page.

2. There is a serious lag in data reporting. It would take easily 30 minutes to over an hour for the reporting data to catch up with real time. With bounces, fine. With replies, that's an issue. I'm checking on my campaign several times a day, so it was easy to see the lag.

3. There's also a serious issue with reporting replies. OOO Reply indicates it's automated, not necessarily OOO. Additionally, any non-positive reply (whether automated or not) is reported as OOO. Of 3 replies, 1 was automated and 2 were not. However, because none of them were not positive, all were counted as OOO (which is untrue).

4. Customer support is a big deal-breaker for me. This is a tool that we have to implement across the company, and I want to know that there's a team I can trust behind it. When I brought up the OOO Reply concerns, the agent didn't understand what I was saying and then was dismissive of the issue. If this was a simple misunderstanding, I could understand it. But this was a larger reporting issue that's either a bug or a mis-step in reporting design. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Smartlead makes it easy to scale cold email properly. The biggest advantage is unlimited inboxes and automated warmup. I can connect multiple domains and inboxes, rotate them automatically, and run campaigns safely without worrying about burning domains.

The unified inbox is also very useful. I can manage replies across all inboxes in one place instead of logging into multiple accounts. Campaign setup is flexible, and automation works reliably.

I think the schedule part of the process is a little confusing. A little guidance to the user can be helpful. It's tricky to set the cadence time and frequency when sending emails to people outside of India, and we don't know the best time to send out emails. I always use Smartlead as my go-to sequencer. It's a really good middle ground, especially for deliverability. I love the great inbox rotation and deliverability-optimized email sequencing. It's super supportive, and Vaibhav and the team are really, really good. The tool is fantastic, and the initial setup was super easy. I love it, and I've been using it for years. I feel like Smartlead keeps adding all these unnecessary features for deliverability that don't actually make a big difference, rather than just improving the basics. I feel like Smartlead adds extra stuff that isn't needed. Other alternatives can be a bit easier to use and less cluttered, even though it's not as good for deliverability. I like Smartlead's delivery features, especially how it segments emails through different centers to ensure they have the best delivery and are opened. The sequencer tool is another highlight; it allows me to send emails to 2000 people via an unlimited number of inboxes automatically. The inbox warm-up feature is great too; it keeps my inboxes in good health. I appreciate the various customizations available when setting up email campaigns, and the ability to manage everything in one place with the unique unified inbox feature is convenient. Additionally, I find it impressive that Smartlead has better sequencing and open rates than some other tools. The setup process is relatively easy, and I find the tool quite straightforward. One area where I think Smartlead lacks is inconsistent open rates. I've noticed that the email open rate count is incorrect sometimes. If it could be more accurate, that would be great. I also wish there was a feature for open dates for every single inbox, so I know which inbox is working. Another feature that is missing is better ways to let me know which settings I need to apply to my domains so my performance is better. Also, the setup process is pretty straightforward, but connecting everything is difficult and takes me a day or more to connect 200 inboxes individually. I like Smartlead because it allows me to handle cold emails at scale. The features I appreciate the most are Unibox, which lets me see all replies in one place, and the unlimited mailboxes that help ensure my mailboxes are safe from getting marked as spam. The platform and features continue to be updated and improved. Strong founder who cares about what users want to see and an amazing support team. The office hours on various topics such as email deliverability with the experts is nothing like I've seen for other SaaS products and the Smartlead Slack community is a cherry on top. I like that Smartlead is a multifunctional platform that integrates various domain, email, and campaign management functions into a single inbox. The support is terrible. The support is truly regrettable, we send messages to ask very simple questions and they take 7 days, 10 days to respond, sometimes even longer. They reply but without any kind of answer, simply to buy more time. We have many unresolved issues related to the domains we have there. We want to redirect the domains we use for campaigns as secondary, to redirect to the root domain, and something as simple as this, they are not able to resolve. Moreover, they blame one of their providers, and even though it may not be entirely their responsibility, it's very bad that they first give you the message that it doesn't depend on them, because it gives you a sense of lack of control.
