Smartbuild has the ability to be a powerful tool for any user **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Dillan W. | Draftsman / Engineer in Training, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2025 **What do you like best about Smartbuild AM?** Smartbuild is a terrific visualizer with a plethora of options while designing. Being able to put in your pricing to through the back end of the program gives the ability to easily generate current, active pricing that updates as you model your structure. As a manufacturer of steel frames, our worry was that the integration of the software to our product would be impossible. With a good amount of work and some help along the way from the Smartbuild crew, we were able to get this software to a place that we feel comfortable realeasing to our dealers to be used as a sales tool. We even are trying to go the extra mile and utilize Smartbuild to generate the materials lists and purchase orders for each building with the outputs feature within the software. **What do you dislike about Smartbuild AM?** It would be nice if the outputs were more customizable and smarter to work with. Majority are word based with tokens that call back to the software to fill in values. It would be nice to see this become more excel friendly especially if that would grant the ability to have excel fill in the values with token and still carryout a comand after that. Sometimes the program can get pretty bogged down with larger buildings with lots of features. **What problems is Smartbuild AM solving and how is that benefiting you?** Smartbuild will speed up the quoting process while also saving us time in creating our bill of materials and paperwork for each job.
