Simcenter™ E-Machine Design software from Siemens Digital Industries Software is a template-driven user interface for electric machine design and sizing. It offers analytical electromagnetic (EMAG), calibrated analytical EMAG, and Finite element method (FEM) EMAG experiments. This versatility allows engineers to tune the accuracy and time of performance data collection to the appropriate stage of the design.
Simcenter E-machine Design includes co-simulation of EMAG and thermal solvers so users can accurately model the performance of their machine. With this tool, professionals can predict and mitigate overheating issues, by running quick electro-thermal simulations in a single tool.
Simcenter E-Machine Design supports multiple machine types via its design templates, including synchronous, induction, switched reluctance, commutator, and axial flux. All templates are fully parameterized and can be easily modified. If geometry does not exactly fit the templates, engineers can import their own. The initial sizing function also allows for automatic scaling.
Additionally, being part of the Simcenter portfolio means that files created in Simcenter E-Machine Design can be integrated with the rest of the e-power system and used to optimize efficiency, noise, vibration, thermal management, and much more.
