I think SAS Viya is good, and I find it solves a lot of problems. I like its AI features, which help solve real-time problems. These include the conversational AI assistant, natural-language coding, automated report generation, interactive visual creation, and model management. I also value the multi-model AI agents that work across structured and unstructured data, optimize code, and turn validated business data into natural-language summaries. I use SAS Viya every day for business intelligence and to display automated data for our executives so they can make the right decisions. I like the user interface, the different graph elements, and the calculated measure operators. I also use the integration between SAS Studio and SAS Viya, and I found SAS Viya very easy to get into. I find the parameters tricky and sometimes counterintuitive. Setting them up can be frustrating: I have to check “use several values,” and I’d like more help text. Sometimes I create a parameter and can’t use it in a report element, so I duplicate one I know works. I have a hard time creating new parameters from scratch. Left joins in SAS Viya have often crashed our servers, and I’d like a better way to integrate variables across datasets. Since we’re not on SAS Viya 4 yet, I have to build calculated measures with the visual interface or code them with operators. The logs are often vague and not very helpful. Across most products, the interface is unpleasant to look at and feels outdated, and the code text is frequently too small to read comfortably. Support and documentation could be better as well. Python integration is fairly middle-of-the-road and seems to depend heavily on having access to admin commands, since installing new libraries can be difficult. SAS Viya is one of the most powerful software application in this era that is emerging with data analysis and AI. SAS Viya has high licensing cost due to its offering method of including all the products with in the license so even if the users are not using a product with in the license they end up paying for it or they have to pay for the entire package of products which ends up having a huge licensing cost for a single user. I really like SAS Viya for its no code and low code interface which makes things a lot easier. It's not just about the low code, but it also offers everything on a single platform, including in-memory analytics for faster results. I love how fast and easy it is to operate SAS Viya. It simplifies server maintenance by providing a single platform and customization features that make it user-friendly without the need for hard coding. I also appreciate accessing everything with one URL. The flexibility of integration with languages like JAVA, R, and Python adds tremendous value. I enjoy the UI customization and how the relationships and Geo Maps are present on every page, which enriches the overall experience. The ability to integrate different modules, such as using JAVA jar files for Sanction Screening, is very flexible. I can customize the front end using Visual Investigator, and the relationship tab helps me understand the data interactions clearly. Lastly, the setup was easy, thanks to the helpful guide.
