## Sanity Reviews
  ### 1. Powerful and customisable back end

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

I love the customisation available with Sanity. I can easily configure it to most of my needs to make my life easier. It gives me the power to do more with my backend, and the data I store is reflected in the applications I build. It saves me time in having to build it myself.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

The only downside that I currently see is that there is no easy way for data migration. For example, if I want to create a Development data set, which I use to test out new features of blog posts, there is no easy option for me to then migrate that to production.

The boundaries for the free version seem like I could breach those at any minute as well.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to develop my own FE and allows me more control over my data, its structure and how it is used. It's also easy to customise, once you've gotten over the learning curve.

  ### 2. A great tool for custom CMS integrations

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Highly customizable. Easy to integrate and use, both for developers and end users.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Not much – it requires some time to get into their libraries and groq-queries, but that could easily describe any CMS solution you select.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Serving content to customers as a headless CMS

  ### 3. Sanity - The CMS for anyone and everyone

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carl D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

As a general user Sanity comes with so many things out of the box. It is incredibly easy to set up and get going.
With the schemas you can get started with minimal effort and complexity and iterate on it as needed to become more specific.
As a developer I can do alot of awesome and complicated things that look fantastic and are great for the client that uses the CMS

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

The documentation is there but Sanity doesn't have a 'sanity way' to do things, unlike other libraries or frameworks.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For myself, Sanity is providing a headless content management system that I can provide to a non-coder/developer and they can work with it.
I especially like that it is not tied down to one specific library or framework.

  ### 4. Great tool for developers and publishers alike

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Sanity somehow manages to put developers and publishers first. The coding environment is very friendly even to new developers and the final product is quite easy to use for editors. I think the team is doing a good job at listening to their users and implementing important features, it's going in the right direction !

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

New product that still need its community to grow, sometimes difficult to find example/help online.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of use for multiple publishers within multiple platforms.

  ### 5. Smooth to work with and excellent support.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

The engagement from support and general response time to discuss our (many) edgecases.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

When moving so fast and still finding their product range, sometimes parts of features or documentation fall behind.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Enabling fast moving content management tooling

  ### 6. Most flexible and easy-to-use CMS tool I have used

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Easy-to-use and ease of implementation.
Great customer support.
Love the segmentation features, and also the live preview/presentation feature - very intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Poor and inconsistent documentation.
GROQ queries can better and simpler.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has helped us build a headless CMS which we didn't have all these years.
Greater speed-to-market with newer content and quicker implementation and review process.
We also love the ability to preview the work using presentation and draft mode.

  ### 7. Positive experience for multiple enterprise implementations

Scalabity, customizability, developer friendly, great customer support

  ### 8. Sanity Studio as Content Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sajan B. | Senior Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

When it comes to choosing a CMS, Sanity has become my go-to option without hesitation. I have used Sanity as a CMS for both professional e-commerce projects and personal projects. Its flexibility in structuring data to fit specific project requirements, seamless implementation, and integration capabilities have truly impressed me. Additionally, the standout real-time collaboration feature has been invaluable, enabling me to actively track live data changes and contributions.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

I encountered some challenges initially when working with GROQ, Sanity's query language. Getting accustomed to its syntax and structure posed some difficulties at the start.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At work, when we needed a CMS for a big e-commerce site. We picked Sanity, and it turned out to be a great choice.

We got all our products into Sanity, setting up their structure exactly how we needed by defining their schema. Using GROQ to get data was really helpful. It made filtering and sorting data super easy and made our website faster.

Now, our clients find it simple to add their products on Sanity, which has been a big win for us.

  ### 9. Content Management Made Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shrijal T. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Sanity.io stands out as a platform that not only meets but exceeds expectations. The structured content model, combined with the ability to adapt the system to my needs, has truly elevated the way I approach and execute projects. Sanity.io has proven to be the innovative and flexible solution I was looking for, making my transition from Contentful a decision I confidently stand by.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

One area where Sanity.io falls short is in its support system. Faster response times would greatly enhance the user experience, providing quicker solutions to issues and improving overall satisfaction with the platform.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sanity solves content management challenges with its flexible schema and version control integration, offering a developer-friendly environment. The platform's use of the GROQ query language, while initially requiring learning, provides powerful data manipulation capabilities. With an intuitive interface and support for community plugins, Sanity streamlines content creation and enhances extensibility, making it a versatile and adaptive solution for modern development workflows.

  ### 10. Integrating Sanity CRM with Shopify for Modern E-Commerce Adoption

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

The mosst impressive feature of Sanity is its easy integration with multiple languages. This capability is essential for global business looking to expand thier reach to diverse markets. Sanity's document structure allows for seamless transaltion and localization of content. making it incredibly efficient for our marketing team to manage website contents as building blocks in various languages.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

For these new to headless CMS, the inital setup and understanding of Sanity's system can be challenging, It requires a certain level of technical expertise, which might be a hurdle for less tech-savvy users or developers. Also the sanity pricing can be a bit steep as your usage grows, but with their new pricing, it should be acceptable for most start-ups

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Single Source of Truth for Contents. In our company, Sanity acts as a single sourcec of truth for all digital content. this centralization simplifies content mangement, reducing the comp;exities associated with handling content across multiple platforms and formats. with the integration with next.js framework, the marketing team able to update website content instantly without reaching the coding team.

  ### 11. Sanity Studio: A Flexible And Developer-Friendly CMS

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charles-Olivier D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Studio excels in providing an intuitive and user-friendly content management system. Creating, editing, and organizing content is a breeze, thanks to its clean and well-organized interface. I particularly appreciated the drag-and-drop functionality, which made it easy to rearrange content elements effortlessly.

Sanity Studio's version control and content history features are robust. It allows you to track changes, revert to previous versions, and see who made what modifications. This feature is invaluable for maintaining content accuracy and accountability.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

While Sanity Studio is generally user-friendly, it does have a bit of a learning curve, especially for beginners. Setting up custom schemas and understanding the inner workings of the platform can be challenging initially. Improved onboarding resources or tutorials could mitigate this issue.

The pricing structure for Sanity Studio may not be ideal for everyone. It can become costly, especially for larger projects or organizations with high data volumes. It would be beneficial if there were more affordable plans or flexible pricing options to accommodate a wider range of users.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The marketing team's ability to autonomously and regularly refresh our website content, without having to rely on developers for text updates.

  ### 12. Super flexible and most things work well out of the box—Some DX weirdness though

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tim R. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Sanity is super easy to get set up, Studio looks great with pretty much no config, the CMS can do pretty much anything you'd want a CMS to do.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

There are a couple of things I find questionable about the dev experience when working with Sanity Studio, including:
- Typescript support is still not great. Instead of using best-practice type declarations for your fields, e.g. being allowed to code something like `const myDocument: SanityDocument = {[document fields here]}, the best we can do is use the `defineType` helper function, which barely helps out with auto-complete and all of the VS Code IDE integrations which are honestly one of the biggest benefits of using Typescript in the first place.
- Tight coupling between different parts of the code in the form of specifying relationships between fields / documents using *strings* instead of actual variable references—this makes it difficult to keep code DRY and easy to change
- Lots of weirdness when it comes to setting up environment variables, with different behaviors for different sanity environments. E.g. when the studio instance is set up to be in a "production" environment, certain environment variables get inserted via global string search and replace. This causes headaches when debugging environment variables when e.g. working with setting up CI/CD.
- Sanity isn't great at naming things. Most components have multiple "official" names from Sanity, which makes it really hard to keep track of things and understand their differences. See the graphic at this link: https://www.sanity.io/docs/schemas-and-forms#b997982b2053, where every single component in that diagram has two different names. The docs also aren't crystal clear on a couple of choice points, e.g. what the differences are between the almost-identical "defineType" and "defineField" are, and names like "StructureBuilder" and "documentNodeResolver" are not at all understandable without going through the docs. There are better names for all of these, and I wish sanity would have taken the opportunity to get a fresh start when they made the huge changes between V2 and V3.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sanity helps our non-tech business people make changes on the website without engineering help.

  ### 13. Sanity-Best tool for Content management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sandeep G. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Plug and play feature, once time developed and reuse as much as you want. Performance is very fast, multiple development language support to create schema and implemetation, cloud and APi support, multiple dataset support, n number of slug can be used to generate multiple websites.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

It's support system needs to improve, in terms of faster response.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides robots way to create schema based components(step items) which can be used as a reusable components and once component created, it provides plu and play functionality to generate website or content on the web, it also provide css control from schema properties where based on defination in step or product/blog etc creation it can apply the css mentioned. It provides review functionality before publish. It also provides migration functionality which helps to promotes entire change from one env to another. It helps invVersion control, and keep draft version of changes till published, it also provides on the fly revert the changes with any previous version.

  ### 14. A tool that fully covers all of our cms needs painfully

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

- it was easy to set it up
- the UI is intuitive
- architecture is simple and scalable
- schemas validation and configuration
- image processing, crop, resize
- built-in CDN
- built-in metrics that cover all the info
- the "view" tool for querying data instantly
- the "structure" tool with an easy UX; especially, the "we noticed a deleted field, what would you like to do with it?" feature
- it was easy to integrate it into our CI

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

- it looks like when you deploy the build, you deploy it for both of your datasets - as a result, we deployed the dev UI to the prod; the data remained untouched, but for some time editors couldn't access the prod data
- the "finance" tab (with invoices and billing info) is hidden somewhere in the settings; it would be more useful to move it to the general settings
- I'd like to have more examples with real-life use cases covered
- a little bit improved "PortableText" react component - to make it more configurable

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gives us the data that we can quickly manage on their side

  ### 15. Sanity for first timers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Archibong S. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

The ability of pulling the entire text, headers, blockquotes and image from a description on sanity is crazy. It makes creating blog posts for clients easy.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Sanity does not have a comprehensive learning curve for beginners. Yeah it's easy to navigate for experts but not beginers and the process in the documentation is quite different when implementing them.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's solved the process of building a functional admin backend, it's very flexible.
For someone with django admin experience, it has benefited me a lot.

  ### 16. Sanity is great as long as you have the dev team to support it.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

It's fully customizable so we can make our CMS function how we want based on our business.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Even simple features require dev time to implement. Without standard out of the box features, simple "common sense" features are not there to start.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A WYSIWYG interface that does not require any HTML and CMS for publishing and updating content.

  ### 17. Sanity merges simplicity of ACF with DevEx of a much larger platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marko M. | Tech Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

I can easily fit it into a 12fac architecture, quickly prototype and iterate on my daily work. My clients fall in love with it every time I do a demo. Because it is easy to implement, we are often able to do a quick POC within a week. Sanity also has amazing customer support over Slack and I feel like I am constantly in direct contact with them. All my new projects are done with Sanity.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

The UI isn't as easy to customize as I'd like it to be, and changing the data shapes (migrations) requires some mental gymnastics.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It simply offers a very good balance for what my clients need. I fundamentally believe in simplicity in architecture, and Sanity does that amazingly well.

  ### 18. A great option for design portfolios

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

• Sanity was exactly the kind of headless CMS I was looking for.
• Sanity integrates seamlessly with Next.js and Vercel.
• I can access my content through the API fairly easily.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Sanity may be challenging for novice programmers to understand. Some written description at the beginning of the documentation regarding the level of programming experience requisite to use Sanity may be helpful as people explore this software.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have to maintain my professional design portfolio and prefer custom built solutions over drag and drop editors. When I need to update the website styles, I do not want to recreate everything from scratch. I previously used Gatsby and Netlify for my portfolio, but wanted to try a headless CMS. Sanity provides gives me the option to reuse my design portfolio content without locking myself into vendor specific tools or frameworks.

  ### 19. Developers first insight

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

The full on customization. The developers has the controll.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Sometimes it would be nice to not have to program all the blocks. Would be nice to have a defualt block library.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Flexibility with the customer we working with. Administration, easy webhook integration, easy steps from using GROQ query.

  ### 20. An out of box solution with the ability to customize as needed

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Gambling & Casinos | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Sanity provides an out of box solution for your CMS needs. Simple to get up and started with the ability to customize components with React.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

The documentation is lacking important information and examples for custom components and methods.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing an out of box CMS that can be maintained easiliy.

  ### 21. A great substitute for the Contentful CMS

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alan J. | Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

After switching from Contentful to Sanity.io, I can confidently say that the move was a game-changer. The key differentiator? Sanity.io's unparalleled schema flexibility.

Sanity.io's intuitive interface and customizable content models allowed me to effortlessly adapt the system to my specific needs. The platform's structured content model not only streamlined content creation but also provided the flexibility to build dynamic applications with interconnected data – a level of versatility that Contentful couldn't match.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

One downside of Sanity.io is that the documentation could benefit from more extensive schema examples to further assist users in mastering the platform's flexibility.

Also, it's not really a downside. GROQ query is something you need to learn to query Sanity data. If they used something already existing on the market for fetching data, it would be easier for the newcomers to onboard.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Decopling data from the webapp logic, while making it easy to modify data.

  ### 22. Most comprehensive and customisable solution in the headless CMS space

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter K. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Pros:

- Live Preview while editing, WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get)
- The entire platform is (mostly) customizable
- Customer support is top tier. Private Slack channel with SLA support.
- Live audit trail to see past changes
- Google Docs-like live collaboration with team members
- Great documentation
- Easy to integrate, with many starter templates to get your project setup. Templates include

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Cons:

- Requires more initial time investment to learn how to effectively leverage the product (Sanity has their own GROQ querying language for data fetching)
- Requires coding knowledge (JavaScript or TypeScript)
- Slightly over-engineered for simpler use-cases

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sanity enables our clients and internal non-technical team members to create and update content. It also provides a fleshed-out framework to help create bespoke solutions for our end users.

  ### 23. Only positive experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vasyl D. | Full-stack developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Huge disk space for assets
Seo friendly
Friendly for newbie
Easy to start implement schema

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Difficult to implement viaual editing with nextjs

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In my business we use Sanity to manage content for internal website + e-commerce applications in nextjs, and Sanity is a good choice for it

  ### 24. Adaptable, Scalable, And Easy To Learn.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chari B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

The history of changes to a particular piece of content. The ability to organize your content in a structure that benefits your workflow. The adaptability of using different media types in a sensible way. Sanity is also clear to communicate about outages and the team is willing to help partners on new features with technical questions and assistance.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Can be difficult to identify bug if updates are not working. Sometimes there is too much choice/flexibility. Media folder is good but not a true DAM. With the depth of customization it can tricky to dive into an issue with so many potential solutions or reasons for problems.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sanity has helped create a Content architecture for my company that keeps thousands of individual pieces of media aligned and structured for backend and frontend users.

  ### 25. No need to worry about the content, can fully focus on the code

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Sanity seemed to me to provide one of the best DX as well as UX, Sanity studio saves me from creating dashboard for my clients to manage the contents. They can simply use the studio, it's customisable as well.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

I feel the studio can be taken to app for mobile devices so that clients can easily access the studio, moreover there should be some way to import huge amount of datas from any sort of files like excel.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sanity takes away the headache for developers to create a separate backend and DBs to store and serve files, content can be easily added and modified with few clicks

  ### 26. Abstracts away a lot of pain with enough escape hatches back to code

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John H. | Engineer 2 (Product), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

The extensibility and adaptability of this CMS is super impressive. I found it easy to set up and transition to in an existing codebase, and its approach to plugins/modularity is commendable. It's really nice to have a CMS that leans into a code-defined schema, and while I know a lot of them do this now, Sanity has been the best-implemented of them in terms of managing both ease of use and giving you deep granular control.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

The typing on the schema fields feels a little loose without installing plugins, and when you do install pluings, it can often conflict with whatever types you install (TS). But my biggest bugbear is the lack of out-of-the-box typing on GROQ queries. I am so used to using codegen to fully type my queries whether that be from OpenAPI, GraphQL or tRPC. GROQ feels flaky and scary by comparison, even if its a pretty powerful query language.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a bunch of very custom learning programs that require quite specific schemas that cant always be fulfilled by text/block/number fields. Sanity gives us deep control of the schema while still abstracting away all of the GUI components on the content creation end. PortableText gives us confidence that we can move if we need to.

  ### 27. Sanity: The easiest way you can implement a CMS into your application.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brihadeesh R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

What's most helpful? the fact that you can define your own schema, add plug-and-play components such as code snippets, images, videos, and the list goes on!
Another feature that isn't well known is 'Live Preview', the fact that you can see what you're typing, with a live render on the production page is truly mindblowing and cool!
I used Sanity for my portfolio, so I could publish articles on Blogs and Projects, I went with quite a few approaches before going with Sanity, I used the classic hard-coded files for every article, I also tried SSR for articles but that wasn't really extensible.
I then sat to learn and integrate sanity and the whole process took me maybe, 2.5-3hours, it was that simple and easy!
Sanity's community articles and walkthroughs really help you understand what you're doing and they also provide YouTube videos if you prefer those!
I've also used Sanity to keep track of the Views and Comments in such posts, and they work flawlessly!

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

I honestly don't think I have any complaints, per se. I'm not sure if this is a mistake or my end, or not,
I'm using Sanity to also keep track of my page views, so everytime someone visits this link, the current post document's views field gets updated.
but this also has to reflect on the front end right? I need to be able to see this increment, but this change only occurs when I refresh the page.
So, I am looking for a fix, If I do come across a solution, and It's my fault, I shall update this field to state how I fixed it.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sanity is really helping me write blog and project articles with ease, I don't have to use SSR, I don't have to hardcode .tsx files and bundle them everytime, I don't need a fixed template when writing articles
Sanity takes all of this away and lets me write articles the way I want to. Want to add an image? done! Want to add some code snippets? done! It's that simple
and this is the feature that really got me in love with Sanity

  ### 28. Sanity streamlines content management with structured models and real-time collaboration.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Sanity stands out for its intuitive and customizable content modeling, enabling users to structure data according to their needs. Real-time collaboration features enhance teamwork, and the flexible API facilitates seamless integration with various platforms, offering a robust solution for dynamic content management.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Some users find the learning curve a bit steep initially, especially if they are new to structured content modeling. Additionally, the pricing structure might be considered on the higher side for certain users or smaller projects. It's essential to weigh these factors against the platform's benefits and your specific requirements.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sanity CMS addresses the challenge of structured content management, allowing me to organize and model data efficiently. The real-time collaboration features enhance team productivity, providing a flexible and powerful solution for dynamic content needs.

  ### 29. Good CMS for Multi-lingual Websites that Update Frequently

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

- Customer support is more effective than Contentstack's. Sanity customer support actually resolves issues instead of reading off a script that takes the customer in circles
- Sanity Studio Vision tool makes it easy to test queries on Sanity databases
- Highly configurable
- Image processing API and caching support through their CDN

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

- dereferencing documents can get hairy and slow

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sanity solves the issues we had with Contentstack. Now we can publish updates to our sites more frequently without having to pull in Customer Support to clear caches or unblock stalled publishing queues

  ### 30. Awesome tool for Managing content on website and creating a dynamic website fetching.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Himanshi C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Creating dataset in sanity is super easy.
Publishing dataset in sanity is real quick and new chnages can be seen on webiste in real time.
Provide great cdn capability for images and dataset.
Sanity has a great UI. Its documentation is good and rich on their website which provides ease of implementation. Slack is great medium to connect with their customer support team.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Sometime when we make any change in the code and rebuilds the sanity screen crashes than we have to reload to see the sanity ui. Moving sanity changes from one project to another is manual, sanity should provide automated way of it.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing content on the website. Its backbone of some of our websites.

  ### 31. One of the best tool for generating and managing content on the website

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Changes we do in sanity are always in sync.
Multiple team members can do change in project at the same time. Publishing content in real time is really fast and can see changes in the website without any delay.
Provide CDN not only for images, icons but also provide cdn for serving content to the website.
UI of sanity is really good and interactive.
Its so easy to make content changes in sanity.
If at any point we need help than sanity team can be connected over slack.
Also they have provided great documentation on their website.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

We have different projects ex dev, qa, prod. When we make change in dev and test them. If we want to make the same change in QA or prod than we have to manually do the same change in next environment. There should be some way to sync projects/changes to move changes in a faster manner.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

By using sanity we have created a great architecture which is hybrid and data driven from sanity. Most of the things we render on the website comes through sanity.

  ### 32. Flexibility

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Travis C. | Cloud Native Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

I used the Sanity hosted studio, which was about as simple to setup as it could possibly be. I still get to deploy my own data model, and customize the editor where I needed to. I'm using some plugins to enhance the studio (Dalle generating images for some posts and author profile pictures). I like that I can see what content other editors are in, so we're not clashing while making updates or content. They recently added the Studio API Reference, which is pretty interesting to dig into. I'm using Sveltekit, and Sanity has a few examples for that and a bunch of other frameworks which make it really easy to integrate.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

AI Assist is still enterprise only. I wish I could provide my own key or just pay some small fee to get that added directly to a free or more basic account.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Editing content in our last CMS didn't have 'in progress' indicators, so occasionally content would get overwritten by two people.

  ### 33. Honestly i love it , no plans on ever changing , Looking forward to more future updates on sanity.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Taalib A. | Software Engineer Intern, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

The flexibility and simplicity to build complex cms .
the convinence for the content editors has never been easier
the api integration is very customisable

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

So far , i am loving it , and it fits my requirement so far .

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing content management has never been easier.

  ### 34. A great, well-rounded CMS

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Ability to customize studio, ample documentation, availability of support team

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

certain plugins and connectors are in need of more in-depth documentation

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Removal of tech team when involved with updating content

  ### 35. Easy to use headless CMS with great image features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

I like the fact that the admin is all handled with Typescript and is easy to deploy changes to because of this. The image editing features are also very good, especially the hotspots.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

The only downside is for larger companies it could get expensive due to paying per user per month.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are now using this as our CMS of choice as it is much easier to use than other CMS's on the market that offer GraphQL or other API methods to allow for a headless frontend.

  ### 36. Sanity Studio: The Ultimate Flexibility for Seamless Web Development!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brydon M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

The standout feature of Sanity is its incredible flexibility and customization options. It allows for tailored development environments and empowers content managers without requiring extensive technical know-how. This adaptability sets it apart from other solutions.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

While the flexibility of Sanity is a standout, the initial learning curve can be a downside, especially for newcomers. The setup and configuration might pose a challenge initially, but once past that, its benefits outweigh this drawback.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sanity helps me tackle several business challenges. Its flexibility aids in creating tailored solutions for clients, improving content management efficiency, and streamlining development processes. This versatility enables me to address diverse client needs effectively, leading to enhanced project outcomes and client satisfaction.

  ### 37. Sanity as the modern CMS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sajan B. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

I used sanity at work as a CMS for one of the e-commerce projects and also for my personal projects. I loved how I could structure the data according to the project needs and also it was pretty easy to implement and integrate. Besides that, the real-time collaboration feature stood out, allowing me to monitor live changes to data and contributors. I will always go with sanity first if I need a CMS for my projects

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

GROQ, the query language used by Sanity, can be complex initially. Also, Sanity does not provide different environments, such as production and staging, which can lead to issues, potentially resulting in unintended alterations to production datasets.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At work, we required a CMS for a significant e-commerce website and were in the process of deciding between Contentful and Sanity. We went with Sanity and was a good decision we made.
We successfully added all our products into Sanity, tailoring their structure precisely to our requirements by defining their schema. Additionally, utilizing GROQ for data retrieval proved immensely beneficial, enabling efficient filtering and sorting of the data response.
It has made the website fast and easy for our clients to add their products on Sanity.

  ### 38. Switched from WordPress to Sanity and have never been happier

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Sanity has been a game-changer compared to WordPress. It elevates the design, performance, and user experience of our website. What I like best:

1. The customizability of components to create a custom experience for our website. We've easily been able to integrate our brand design into new components that offer a better experience for our end users.
2. The usability for internal folks creating new pages, blog posts, etc. within Sanity. We've been able to self-serve build new pages with a speed never possible with the clunky complexity of WordPress.
3. The ability to better integrate with our analytics platform and track things we couldn't before, such as the location of CTA clicks.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

1. There are not enough custom plugins available compared to WordPress. Hopefully, this will change with time as more developers add them.
2. Related to the above, there are no built-in ways to add things commonly required, like image cropping and resizing.
3. While internal users can easily and quickly build new pages, there is some residual slowness when multiple panes are open simultaneously.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With faster speeds, more customizability, and ease of use, Sanity ultimately enables us to offer a better digital experience to our external audience and internal users.

  ### 39. Sanity is great for unstructured content

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jesse R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Sanity is easy to use and easy to integrate with.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

TypeScript support (eg. lack of typed queries from their JavaScript/TypeScript client), pricing

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sanity makes it easy to set up a CMS in the cloud and turn it over to my clients. It's easier for them to understand than setting up a server running in the cloud somewhere.

  ### 40. Excellent

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Harshit M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Using sanity website creation become easier and dynamic content creation. Easier way to use and change content

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

There is nothing i see in dislike some kind of image upload issues i faced thats normal other then that it's amazing.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easier formating data using crm and data management will be easierr

  ### 41. Sanity is the leading headless CMS

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chandler V. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Sanity is highly customizable, allowing us to support any content type we can think up. Additionally, Sanity provides support for modern frontend tooling like Next.js, working directly with their team to provide powerful features.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Technical Support can be difficult to find outside of their public Slack channels.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sanity provides a content management system that is highly customizable, allowing our small team of developers to support a much larger team of content editors who require an ever-growing array of content types. This allows for very quick turnaround on marketing efforts to both generate the content and release it to our production site.

  ### 42. Super fast deployment to production

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ritesh k. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Sanity, uses API-first approach, providing developers with the flexibility to use the platform as a headless CMS (Content Management System). This enables seamless integration with various front-end technologies.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

While Sanity offers a free plan, there are costs associated with higher usage or additional features. For larger projects with high storage or API usage, the pricing may become a consideration.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sanity Studio is the web-based interface provided by Sanity for content management and collaboration. It is a key component of the Sanity content platform, offering a user-friendly environment for creating, editing, and managing content.

  ### 43. Simple but opaque

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jake M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

The user experience for the end-user is completely customisable, allowing me to cater it to different clients. Integration into many modern front-end web platforms is extremely simple with full control over dataset.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

I wish there was a way of being able to see where resources are being utilised, such as being able to see common requests that are utilising heavy amounts of API requests, or storage files which occupy the most space. This would make it much easier to supply better observability to clients' websites about their usage, and reduce cloud costs.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It forces a very data-centic approach to thinking about how your content should be organised, which provides a lot of flexibility when it comes to implementing it into other systems.

  ### 44. Sanity is a HUGE time saver!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kris B. | Developer Relations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

I love Sanity's flexibility and ease of use! Using Sanity for a backend CMS solution allows me to focus more on the application logic I'm loooking to develop. Why reinvent the wheel? Just use Sanity!

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Small learning curve, Sanity Studio requires a development environment (tough to hand over to a client to self-manage).

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Turn key CMS, I don't have to homebrew a backend DB solution!

  ### 45. Great platform for a WordPress user

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

We've adopted Sanity as our go-to CMS for all of our application and as one of the project managers, digital marketers and content managers for our agency, I think the CMS is on the right track, easy to use and manage applications.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Being in digital marketing, I often miss out-of-the-box features like form submission database/entries like we used to get with Gravity Forms in WordPress or basic SEO features like the ones provided by Yoast SEO in WordPress and while it is great to have control over what we add / don't add, features like the ones I mentioned are vital to any web application and should be a priority.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our agency is stepping away from the usual WordPress sites which are vunurable to hacking.

  ### 46. Sanity is the best CMS that i've ever used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fortune O. | Frontend Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

- Ease of use
- Ease of implementation
- Great Documentation
- Easy plugin setup
- Easy integration into your client app

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

The only bad thing i can comment on sanity is it's type support, it's more of a tacked on feature as opposed to how most apps have it as a first class feature.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sanity helps me update my data for my website easily and allows me update it on the go.

  ### 47. Very powerful and highly customizable headless CMS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marcus F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Sanity has really nailed what a headless/composable CMS should be. It gives us all the features we could imagine wanting from our content layer, without ever getting in our way. The fact that the Studio can be embedded into our own Next.js application and customized at will using React opens up a world of opportunities to use this not only as a replacement for our old CMS (WordPress) but for all kinds of other content workflows we haven't even imagined yet.

They're working hard to stay up-to-date with the latest features in Next.js with guides for using live previews in the App Router just landing, as well as the ability to use fetch which enables Next.js' cache features.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

The docs and APIs can be a bit lacking when it comes to customization and we have already, on our first project, ended up having to do some hacky custom solutions to customize the Desk tool due to lack of options and APIs we require (for example, there's no way to set a default configuration of panes to always be open in the Editor).

The pane-based structure can be confusing for non-technical users with the way that you may end up for example with two different preview panes open. There's also always one Publish button per pane which is also just confusing. This was another thing we had to do a messy hack to fix for our use cases (where we wanted a more Storyblok-like experience for our editors).

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been looking for a headless CMS to replace WordPress for all of our agency's clients. It will allow us to stop worrying about managing servers and keeping WordPress up-to-date, and instead let us focus all development in one layer; Next.js. The fact that we can embed the Studio and host it on our own is a game changer. The CDN and Images workflow has finally given us a sensible workflow for responsive images. The Preview mode will save us unimaginable amounts of support hours since our customers can now just see what's going on.

  ### 48. Effortless Content Mastery: Navigating Creativity with Sanity.io

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Sanity.io's real-time collaboration is a standout feature. The ability to work simultaneously with team members, seeing changes in real-time, fosters a dynamic workflow that enhances productivity and creativity. Additionally, its customizable schemas provide the flexibility needed for diverse projects, allowing us to craft content structures tailored to our exact specifications.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

The complexity of more advanced functionalities might pose a slight hurdle for newcomers. While the learning curve isn't steep, delving deeper into certain aspects could benefit from more accessible resources or tutorials. However, community support and active forums often compensate for this, making problem-solving a collaborative effort.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sanity.io has been a game-changer in content management. By simplifying backend services and offering a robust API, it resolves the challenges of content distribution across platforms. This efficiency not only saves time but also empowers our team to focus on innovation and content creation, ultimately benefiting our business by driving creativity without the hindrance of technical complexities.

  ### 49. Sanity is fully custom, very powerful, and extendable.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

I can tweak every detail of the backend of my website. Compared to WordPress or Drupal, Sanity is heaven! The free plan is very generous.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Sanity is great. I just wish they had some more examples. Being able to clone an example and see how it works locally makes life much easier. They do have several examples. They just didn't have examples of the two types of sites I was working on.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need a CMS that is fully customizable and that can be built with modern web tech. We have content that will be consumed by our website, but also our applications. Sanity allows us to simply query our data from various sources. Sanity is the perfect solution to our problem.

  ### 50. Sanity experience was out of the this world. Never thought something like it existed.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lawrence M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

So far so good; the CMS part solved millions of my problems. I was able to integrate to my app which was based on Sonny Sangha youtube tutorial. I was watching the tutorial one 11 months after upload but I was still able to integrate. The realtime functionality is also amazing

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Just that there's no much documentation about it or rather presence in the developer communities.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has created a very smooth admin platform, and therefore I as a developer I need to only focus on the users. Saves so much time when developing a product. Time is money.
