## About SaaStore
SaaStore is a curated marketplace and trust layer for software built by independent developers and small teams. Every listing is hand-reviewed and independently security-scanned, with trust badges shown on each app page. Sellers verify their identity, adding accountability for every listed application. Buyers browse by category, trust badge, or free-text search, then complete the purchase on the maker's own site. A growing focus is intelligent document processing tools, where trust matters most. Software you can finally trust and afford.

**What do you like best about SaaStore?**

The vetting is real, and in a market where anyone can build anything, a marketplace willing to reject products is the only kind worth being listed on. Most software directories are a submission form and an invoice — which makes them part of the noise problem rather than a solution to it. SaaStore puts every listing through three independent gates before it goes live — a third-party security scan, a UX audit, and a persona audit that walks simulated buyers from your target segment through your page and reports back what they thought. You get the whole report, findings and all.

In our case that report identified a genuine technical defect: our marketing site was a client-rendered single-page app with no prerendering, so anything that didn't execute JavaScript — scanners, some crawlers, AI tools — was seeing an effectively empty page. That was the highest-leverage fix on our roadmap for months afterwards, and we found it because a marketplace we were listing on bothered to look.

The second thing is the direct checkout. Rather than a link out to my site, buyers can purchase on the SaaStore listing page itself, with the payment provider handling receipts, VAT and refunds as merchant of record. Before turning it on, the team opened the real checkout for every plan and verified price, currency and billing cycle against what I'd submitted, then ran a complete sandbox purchase end to end and confirmed the sale registered correctly on my side. I've worked with partners who don't test that carefully on launch day, let alone before it.

Third: the founders are reachable and specific. I got direct, actionable feedback on my listing assets — exact formats and framing, not "make it better" — and a written onboarding guide rather than a support-ticket queue.

**What do you dislike about SaaStore?**

It's early, and I want to be straightforward about that. I've had traffic from my listing but no sales through it yet, so I can't speak to conversion or ROI. The catalog is still small, which means buyer volume is limited today — you're betting on the direction, not buying reach.

The direct-checkout setup also took real work on my side: creating the product and plans with the payment provider, wiring a webhook to provision access by the buyer's email, configuring affiliate tracking and generating a sandbox link. It's about an afternoon, it's well documented, and the team helps — but it isn't a five-minute switch, and I'd want a seller to know that going in.

One smaller note: the audit tooling isn't perfect. One UX finding in my report flagged a missing call-to-action that was demonstrably present in the page — the scanner simply couldn't render it. The report is still valuable, but read it with judgement rather than treating every line as fact.

**What problems is SaaStore solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem is discovery in a market that has stopped functioning the way it used to, and it's worth being precise about why, because it's the thorniest problem at the edge of AI right now.

AI has collapsed the cost of building software. Anyone can build almost anything, quickly, and increasingly without a team. That sounds like liberation, and in part it is — but it means building is no longer the bottleneck, and two much harder problems have replaced it.

The first is discernment. When you can build anything, the binding constraint becomes taste: whether you had the judgement to build the right thing. Not something that merely functions, but something that genuinely fits what a real person needs — enjoyment, utility, or business value they can actually feel. That's not an engineering problem and no model solves it for you.

The second is that even if you get the first one right, you emerge into an ocean of millions of products. Being good is no longer sufficient to be found. The old routes through that — SEO, paid acquisition, content — are priced beyond a small team and are being displaced anyway by buyers who now ask an AI assistant what to use and act on the answer rather than running a search. Those systems assemble answers from sources they treat as credible: directories, review platforms, vetted marketplaces. If you aren't in that layer, you aren't in the answer, and nothing you do on your own domain changes that.

So what's genuinely scarce is credible filtering — someone who looks at a product before publishing it and whose judgement a buyer, or a machine reading on a buyer's behalf, can lean on. A catalog that accepts everything is just more of the noise it claims to cut through. A catalog willing to reject things carries information.

That's what SaaStore is solving for us, and it's why the vetting isn't a nice-to-have detail — it's the entire product. Being in a reviewed catalog puts us in exactly the class of source those systems draw on, which is a channel I had no other route into.

The secondary benefit was immediate and unexpected: the pre-listing audit functioned as a free technical and UX review of our marketing site and produced a fix list we actually worked through. Something that tells you the truth about your own product is rare enough to be worth the listing on its own.
