Runway has eliminated the need for manual, error-prone Google Sheets by helping to automate our reporting process. Monthly actuals now flow directly from NetSuite, Ramp, and Rippling into the platform, saving time and increasing accuracy. What do you like best about Runway Financial?

Runway is an incredibly flexible tool with an easy learning curve compared to other tools in the class. The time to value is extremely quick - weeks vs. months with other tools, and is actually quite fun to build in. The number of available integrations is second to none, there is no other tool I am aware of that has anywhere close to the number of connections available. What do you like best about Runway Financial?

Runway just gets it. The UI is clean, the app is blazing fast, and the reporting is next-level. The SQL engine is insane—way more powerful than Excel, making data modeling simple and easy. Plus, it connects to tools like Rippling, which no one else does.

But the real MVP? Their customer support. They respond instantly to bugs and actually fix things fast. Most companies say they care about feedback—Runway actually proves it. We use it daily because it’s become our go-to source of truth for running the business.

Some other things I love about Runway...

• Really easy to get up and running fast and get value out of the product on day 1 thanks to their QBO import

• Crazy fast app—no lag, no waiting

• Top-tier integrations you won’t find anywhere else

• Not beginner-friendly—if you don’t know SQL, there’s a learning curve

• Some bugs here and there, a bit sus, but support is so fast it barely matters

What problems is Runway Financial solving and how is that benefiting you?

Runway makes financial planning way less painful by pulling in all the data I need without me having to dig through QuickBooks. Instead of bouncing between platforms, I can see my financials instantly and focus on what actually matters.

It also lets me forecast key financial metrics like burn, revenue, ARR attainment, gross margin, and opex—all in one place. No more messy spreadsheets or disconnected models.

The real game-changer? Runway blends financial data with business and app data. We can analyze leads, prospects, customers, and usage data alongside our financials, giving us a full picture of what’s driving growth and what’s burning cash. It’s basically our business command center now.

Another huge win is how easy and transparent it is to share financial insights. Runway lets me share views, tables, and notebooks without unbundling everything or exposing sensitive data like compensation. What do you like best about Runway Financial?

Runway Financial is an easy to use and intuitive system that allows for an endless amount of financial modeling. Our business needs a system that has ways to factor in changes in a forecasted timeline and the impact of those inputs, and Runway's Plan feature is exactly that. The system is incredibly powerful, easy to use, easy to implement and learn, and they have a very responsive team of real people. What problems is Runway Financial solving and how is that benefiting you?

Runway has allowed us to build and entire forecast based on plans that can be slid along a timeline, and automatically recalulate the impact on the forecast. That is huge for a business model of a publisher, where timelines are often changed, affecting the predicted financials. Additionally, with the ease of building models, we are able to create reports specific to how different audiences want to see the data (CEO, investors, etc). Having a full set of integrated finacials that update with each timing adjustment has allowed us to forecast with greater accuracy, which in turn improves our cash forecasting and stragic decision making for the business. I love how Runway makes it easy to analyse different financial scenarios and plan ahead with confidence. With a complex tool such as Runway it was unsurprising that implementation time took a little longer than we were hoping, but the Runway team were there to assist us throughout the process, walking us through every step of the way so we could confidently set up our forecast in the way that best fit our company. We were outgrowing our excel forecast, and wasting valuable time manually editing budget versions. Now with Runway we've been able to change how we approach forecasting and spend more time on decision making to produce a more accurate budget, and also focus on tracking our actuals against budget on a more regular basis. What do you like best about Runway Financial?

Runway is a powerful FP&A tool that integrates with other many applications, which reduces manual admin work to update. The options are limitless on the dimensions that you can create and link within your various models. Runway provide a lot of resources to learn how to use the software and their customer support team is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful in getting your models set up and working properly. You can create charts to summarize data and easily share with other people with a click of a button. They also release regular product updates that improve the application and add new features. What do you dislike about Runway Financial?

This is my first time using an FP&A tool so there was a steep learning curve getting familiar with the terminology (drivers vs dimensions), and how to properly build out models. We use an accounting system that is specific to our industry and does not have APIs so our process ended up being a little more manual that I had hoped but we were able to find workarounds to reduce the manual work as much as possible. Finding ways to integrate multiple custom variables in our forecasting models that provide flexibility to quickly make adjustments when necessary. Runway seamlessly integrates multiple business systems/ tools into a single, intuitive dashboard. Instead of toggling between different platforms, we now have a unified, real-time view of our financial and operational data, which helps with regular internal and board-facing reporting that we pull together on a monthly/quarterly basis. Like any financial tool, Runway does require some time to fully onboard, especially for team members who aren’t in finance functions.
