## Retain Cloud Reviews
 ### 1. Efficient Resource Planning with Areas for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Harischandra S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Retain Cloud?**

I think the most feature that we like about Retain Cloud is the plan, which gives us a kind of dashboard of all resources. We mostly use the resource view, which provides an overview for a given month or week or even two to three months and helps us manage resources easily. It shows where resources are located, for what jobs, how long, and it helps ensure there's sufficient booking or availability, which is important for future planning. Another thing I like is that moving to the cloud means that all staff can have access to Retain Cloud and can access it from anywhere—whether it's from a phone, desktop, or laptop—all they need is the Internet.

**What do you dislike about Retain Cloud?**

Basically, I think, it has served our purpose and expectation, but we have been looking into, like, couple of filtering options to see whether what are the active jobs. There can be jobs that are non active or probably gone out of, so we don't want to see all of them. We just wanted to see only the active jobs. Right now, we don't have readily available way to get that sorted out. Because the job view by default has all the jobs that is in there, and so it just bit difficult to get to an Active jobs view only. The other thing is, we wanted to see resources in conflict. That means they have been booked for multiple jobs in the same period. So we wanted to see, what are the resources in a given period who are in conflicts so that we can easily manage those conflicts.

**What problems is Retain Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Retain Cloud helps me schedule staff across various engagements efficiently without conflicts. I like the plan feature with a dashboard for resource management, providing an overview and ensuring sufficient resource booking, preventing idling, and assisting in future planning.

**Official Response from Rachel Paterson:**

> Thank-you for the feedback, we have two features which will be released in August 2026 which will allow you to easily spot and manage booking conflicts with our new conflict-aware filter.
The second feature will archive jobs and bookings manually or automatically to keep operations running smoothly while preserving historical data for reporting and future reference. Currently, you can create an archived field to solve this problem. If you would like to get in touch with our support desk they will be able to assist you.

 ### 2. Fit for Purpose and more

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kathryn K. | Resourcing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Retain Cloud?**

The user interface is easy for Resourcing professionals as well as client facing staff, it is also a very stable environment with little lag or buffering. The ability to build dashboards within the reporting function of the tool allows me to make real time decisions and provide real time MI to senior stakeholders.

**What do you dislike about Retain Cloud?**

Some tasks are very tedious, for example there is no way to do multiple updates to jobs - if we have a manager leave you have to manually change the manager per job. There is also no way to import bookings into the tool so where the roll forward element is not used then forward planning is a very lengthy task.

**What problems is Retain Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Retain is now used by the business as the tool was intended, to monitor current utilisation levels, booking accuracy and tracking of costs across jobs. The reporting function is used on a weekly basis and provides insight to the team and leadership. We now able to look forward to understand our highs and lows and how we can level these out

 ### 3. Efficient Resource Management with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kae B. | Resource Management & Workforce Optimization

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Retain Cloud?**

I really benefited from Retain Cloud's real-time visibility into resource availability and utilization. The software significantly reduced manual data entry and minimized errors. Its automated scheduling and forecasting features were invaluable. I appreciated having a centralized, single source of truth for all resource data, which made collaboration across teams easier. The built-in dashboards and reporting technology provided quick insights. The scenario planning and 'what if' analysis capabilities supported future project planning. Retain enhanced capacity and demand forecasting and ensured data accuracy through version control and audit trails. The role-based access offered better governance, while the seamless integration with project management, HR, and finance tools proved useful. Its scalability and significant time savings improved efficiency, supporting more data-driven decisions. Additionally, customization, AI integration, and continuous software enhancements are appealing for future use. The Retain IT team and Jack Ramshaw were amazing in providing real-time solutions/improvements based on feedback from early stages to ongoing support.

**What do you dislike about Retain Cloud?**

I find the reporting and dashboards require improvement, as the current offerings might not meet all my needs for data presentation and insights. Additionally, the interface performance could be enhanced for a smoother user experience.

**What problems is Retain Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Transitioning to Retain Cloud provided real-time resource visibility, reduced manual errors, centralized data, enhanced collaboration, automated scheduling, and improved decision-making with built-in reporting.

 ### 4. Business Systems Manager

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica B. | Salesforce Administrator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Retain Cloud?**

Honestly, it just makes my life easier. I can see who’s available, move things around without a headache, and actually trust the numbers. I don’t feel like I’m fighting with the tool—it’s simple, clear, and saves me a ton of time.

**What do you dislike about Retain Cloud?**

There are a few limitations in how much we can configure things exactly the way we want, and sometimes the reporting feels a little slow to refresh. That said, I think part of that lag is more on the Power BI side than the actual tool. Overall, nothing that gets in the way of day-to-day use.

**What problems is Retain Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Retain has taken us out of spreadsheets and given us one place to manage resources across projects. Having everything centralized means less back and forth, fewer errors, and way more visibility. Plus, the connectivity it’s building with our other major platforms makes planning smoother and keeps everyone on the same page.

 ### 5. Great Support - Great People to Work With

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul R. | Operations Senior Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Retain Cloud?**

From my perspective, as an administrator of the tool, the support of functions is one of the most important pieces of my experience. Jack and Jamie have been ready to listen, and collaborate with me on improving features, or developing new functionality. The group at Retain have been open and responsive to our needs while also letting us bounce ideas off them and have shown themselves to be great partners in the process.

**What do you dislike about Retain Cloud?**

I would love to see more out-of-the-box integration support, or partnered products to help enhance the experience!

**What problems is Retain Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Retain offers us visibility into our associates' workload. The ease of modifying and building complicated schedules for our associates is critical to our day to day operations and the success of our firm.

 ### 6. Simplifying Team Resource Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel B. | Head of Consultancy, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Retain Cloud?**

Cloud based solution, easy to use interface & simplifies my team management

**What do you dislike about Retain Cloud?**

I honestly have no complaints—I just wish we had made the switch earlier!

**What problems is Retain Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

By transitioning from an on-premises setup to a cloud-based solution, we have been able to lower our operating costs. This shift has also resulted in a more reliable service.

 ### 7. Resourcing Platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Retain Cloud?**

We needed a solution to resource planning away from Excel and Retain offers an easy to use product with nice visual display to allocate workflows across the team. Retain offers an intuitive interface and good customisation. The integration process was smooth and we implemented the solution quickly. Support from Retain has been forthcoming as needed and any issues or questions raised dealt with quickly.

**What do you dislike about Retain Cloud?**

Overall no significant issues with the product.

**What problems is Retain Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a resource planner that could be used across teams / offices that was visually easy to see how jobs are allocated and customisable for the outputs we wanted it to show. We previously used Excel trackers with limited controls.

 ### 8. Excellent Product - Great Service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Retain Cloud?**

As the IT person implementing the product I am pleased to say that the API integration is stellar and their support documentation is excellent. this prevents double entry of information. While I do not personally use it our Teams (staff and managers) love it and report better visibility on jobs and project statuses. Our main coordinator has time to manage the schedule and take on other tasks or projects.

**What do you dislike about Retain Cloud?**

Their client support portal is a little clunky but despite the time zone differences that make it work.

**What problems is Retain Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scheduling and resources.

 ### 9. Easy planning tool with quick insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Retain Cloud?**

Retain cloud is a very useful tool for planning. Its user friendly and gives a quick overview of the current planning for all resources. The reports that can be created give valuable insights, which makes planning even easier.

**What do you dislike about Retain Cloud?**

The downsides of Retain are mostly that it's not easy to connect with other systems. An API is available, but to have the same characteristics a lot of work is required. Once that is set though, it doesnt require much work at all.

**What problems is Retain Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes planning easier, for example by making it very easy to move planning per resource or per job. This requires minimal effort en provides you with direct information about possible conflicts.

 ### 10. Retain Cloud

**What do you dislike about Retain Cloud?**

The booking request process is not audited enough for our liking.

Allows us to day to day plan and future plan resources so as not to over allocate

 ### 11. A well rounded resourcing platform

Running quick capacity reports
Being able to see the job manager and matter details.

**What do you dislike about Retain Cloud?**

 ### 13. Clear Planning, Limited Customization

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bas S. | Junior IT Auditor

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Retain Cloud?**

I find Retain Cloud incredibly easy to use, both in setting up and in daily operations. It's very clear and straightforward to see who is doing what, which simplifies planning. Initially, Retain Cloud was also quite affordable. The flexibility in creating different plans based on specific areas is particularly nice, as it helps in organizing work efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Retain Cloud?**

I found that while Retain Cloud is easy to set up and use, it can be quite limiting because it's a closed system. This makes it difficult to implement everything I aspire to accomplish. Additionally, connecting different values within the system is challenging due to its lack of openness. I also noticed that the pricing, which was initially very appealing, has increased over time, which is a downside. Moreover, I believe it would greatly benefit from being more customizable, especially within the report section, to better fit unique user needs.

**What problems is Retain Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Retain Cloud simplifies seeing resource allocation per customer and time, assisting my planning. It also helps with budget reviews, although we underutilize this feature.
