"All the information you will need"
What do you like best about Renaissance Star Assessments?

Renaissance STAR assessments offer amazing reports. Any information you need, whether you are a classroom teacher, specialist, or Admin, is available in at least one of the reports. They relate to CCSS, show learning targets and grade levels needed, time taken to complete the assessment, how they compare to others, and more.

The test is built in a great way for the students. Average time needed to accurately complete the exam is 15-20 minutes so test fatigue is combated. The test grows with the student, adjusting as needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Renaissance Star Assessments?

One thing I would adjust with the STAR assessment is the starting point. The next time a student takes the assessment it starts off at about the same place they finished - and that can be difficult for students. An example of this is a 4th grade student that took the math test scoring at an 8th grade level. They ended their assessment with square root problems they did not understand. The next test window, the student starts out with square root problems - after incorrectly answering some then it gets easier for them. This can cause some frustration for the student, especially if their score goes down. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"STAR Helps Students Monitor Their Growth"
What do you like best about Renaissance Star Assessments?

STAR is simple to use and accurate. It's nationally normed so we can see how we stack up against schools everywhere. STAR can be used for progress monitoring of students in intervention. There are very specific plans for increasing student learning that are generated by STAR. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Renaissance Star Assessments?

Success on STAR does not necessarily predict success on the state assessments. Although students who score well on STAR get higher scores on CAASPP, those who are at or just above grade level often don't achieve passing scores on the CAASP. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"STAR Assessments Guide Instruction"
What do you like best about Renaissance Star Assessments?

The most helpful aspect of STAR Assessments is the invaluable data it gives. I can pinpoint exactly where my students are in their journey to become a thriving reader. My favorite, and most used report, is the Instructional Planning Report for Students. This report suggests the skills the student is ready for instruction and practice with. I share this info with parents. A close 2nd to the report for students is the Instructional Planning Report - Class. This report provides a list of recommended skills, based on the most recent assessment, that groups of students would benefit from reviewing - perfect for small group planning. "Most Useful Tool for Classroom Teachers"
What do you like best about Renaissance Star Assessments?

I like how straight forward all of the information is. You get a break down of the skills and they are placed in easy to understand levels of mastered, almost, and not yet ready for (I don't remember the exact verbiage). I also like that you can test as many times as you want, whenever you want. You don't have to wait for a time period that they are open or only be able to track progress from year to year or season to season. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Renaissance Star Assessments?

I can't really think of anything I dislike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Star Assessments Review (Middle School Opinion)"
What do you like best about Renaissance Star Assessments?

Star Assessments does a good job of predicting how many of our students will perform on the state assessments at the end of the year. There are also great resources/links available that can assist in targeting needed areas of improvement if educators take advantage of them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Renaissance Star Assessments?

Many of our students get tired of taking this assessment multiple times a year (which is needed to get accurate results). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
