**What do you like best about Remote People?**

What impressed us most was how effortless Remote People made hiring across different countries. The entire EOR process was very fast, felt well-organized, compliant, and much quicker than trying to establish entities on our own, which removed a lot of friction for our team.

A big reason this worked so well was Bala, our account manager. He was always available, detail-oriented, and ahead of things, whether it was clarifying compliance questions or setting expectations around timelines. His involvement made the whole experience feel controlled and easy to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Remote People?**

There isn't much to flag as a concern, but more of a thing to note, that you can choose (and change, which is quite nifty) the currency to be charged in, which will come at a fixed exchange rate. 
Thanks to Bala walking us through this early on, everything was clearly understood, so there were no unexpected surprises later.
An area of improvement is the things I can do from the mobile app, but my workaround is to switch to the desktop version on my phone

**What problems is Remote People solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They've taken away the operational and legal complexity of hiring internationally. Instead of spending time figuring out compliance, taking on the risk hiring as a contractor and entity setup, we were able to onboard talent quickly and confidently.
This has made a noticeable impact on how fast we can enter new markets and build our team. The whole process is also a very smooth and professional experience for the hire, without having a whole HR team and process set up

Remote People works for hiring and paying in specific situations where better solutions aren't available, like hiring Canadian employees in some locations for a U.S. company. These specific functionalities are useful when there's no better alternative.

**What do you dislike about Remote People?**

Some features aren't helpful such as time tracking which is cumbersome and doesn't integrate well with our team. The payment methods are manual or costly with high fees when using a credit card. There is limited automation for leave approvals, and unnecessary features are exposed to employees, needing extra support for basic processing. The onboarding process had some hiccups, and over time more limitations were discovered. We don't feel confident relying on it or integrating it with other services.

Onboarding was easy and thorough. My HR needs are handled promptly, and I can also take care of certain tasks myself through the portal’s self-guided menus. With the recent changes to employment contracts, documents are sent digitally for signatures and approvals in a seamless way. The website has also received a new update, and it feels genuinely refreshing and straightforward to navigate.

There isn’t a dedicated mobile app, but the new website is much easier to access on a mobile phone via a web browser like Google Chrome or Safari.

Horizons is how smooth and dependable their Employer of Record process is across multiple countries. The onboarding was clear, compliant, and much faster than setting up local entities ourselves.

A big part of this positive experience was the support we received from Bala. He was extremely responsive, patient, and proactive in walking us through every step, from compliance questions to payroll timelines. Whenever we had doubts, Bala made sure we had clear answers and realistic expectations, which made the entire process stress-free.

**What do you dislike about Remote People?**

There is very little to dislike overall. As with most global EOR providers, FX rates can sometimes differ slightly from publicly visible mid-market rates, but Horizons has been transparent about how these rates are applied and what they cover in terms of banking, compliance, and operational risk. The clarity provided by Bala helped set the right expectations early, so there were no surprises.

Easy-to-use platform and excellent customer service. Whenever I have a question or need a resource for myself or even for an employee, they are quick to respond. I like that I can submit my questions through their portal or reach out to them directly by email. The majority of the time, I receive an answer within the same day. If it is a more complex question, they reach out to me, letting me know they are looking into it and will get back to me as soon as possible. They are always quick to respond and so friendly. I use their portal at least once a month, if not more often. They also have great resources to find many of the answers you need without having to reach out to a representative.

**What do you dislike about Remote People?**

I have not found anything so far that I don't like.

The platform simplifies international hiring by centralizing onboarding, contract generation, and tax compliance into a clean, intuitive dashboard. Even after onboarding employees across six countries, the ease of implementation remained consistent—our rollout process was structured and clearly guided. The customer support is consistently impressive: quick, helpful, and deeply familiar with country-specific compliance. We use Remote People on a weekly basis for payroll, contract management, and benefits setup. Its number of features keeps growing, now including audit logs, employee portals, and automated document generation. As for integration, while some processes are still manual, we’ve developed a workflow that syncs well with our HRIS.

The only challenge we’ve experienced is with integration—the platform doesn’t yet offer robust API or native connections with our internal tools like Workday. Additionally, the analytics dashboard could benefit from more export options and visual customization.

I am really into the expenses recording/documenting section of/in the Horizons app, which has helped me to better plan out how my expenses is reimbursed by the company whenever I carry out any financial dealings or transaction geared towards the projection of the institution. 

I also enjoy the commendable level of support within Horizons, where I can connect with my Horizons account manager whenever there is an issue that I do not have a full grasp about. More times than often, I have been able to resolve some confusions regarding the utilisation of the "Time Tracking" feature of the app. It has also helped me to better manage my time while I work. The above has made it very easy for me to reach out whenever there is a need for it.   

I'm drawn to the innovative and creative approach of Horizons in keeping tabs with tracking my pay slip for every month. It has also helped me in cultivating a better financial management system where I am now, more than ever before, able to designate certain sums for institution projects, and the like.

**What do you dislike about Remote People?**

I wish that the Horizons app can integrate an in-app communication module where the feature can be easily used to contact my account manager without having to send an official email to her. This feature would greatly improve efficiency in communication especially if it is in-app as it would make it easy to also implement action points as soon as they are raised for resolution. 

It would also be very effective if the Horizons platform is available on mobile, as I have tried to the access the platform via mobile but it redirects to the webpage for access.

My experience with Horizons has been pleasant and in line with expectations, during the first of April this year, my country’s team urgently needed help from Horizons to resolve an issue with the company we provide services to. We were able to quickly and easily get in touch with one of Horizons' employees in our country and on the same day they solved most of the problems, everything was resolved that same week and since then things have gone so well that we haven’t needed any further assistance for any other thing. It's also very helpful that Horizons notifies us about legal or mandatory matters we were unaware of and need to take care of, preventing any unpleasant surprises. As an EOR, I recommend them in Latin America.

**What do you dislike about Remote People?**

Horizons performs its functions well, but there is a certain disconnect between them and my company. There doesn’t seem to be constant communication between the two, so if a problem arises, it’s unclear who to turn to.
