The customers are able to quickly understand the MRC vs NRC line items and any special charges that are associated with them. And goodness is it nice having the line item details the customer can reference while they are reviewing the quote! And then the DocuSign approval process is so smooth and secure. Quoter is fantastic! **What do you dislike about ScalePad Quoter?** Anything that can be done to make importing services/equipment for product catalog and also tieing to current inventory, would be very helpful. Also, get me as much as you can on how Quoter can be used with API's to Quoter and from Quoter. **What problems is ScalePad Quoter solving and how is that benefiting you?** Quoter helps our customers see we are professional and that we respect our and their privacy and communications security. The option of preloaded (but still editable) product lists is handy, allowing the account managers to use pre-loaded descriptions and revise them if needed. **What do you dislike about ScalePad Quoter?** Because we use the integration with another tool (Pipedrive), the Quotes open/accepted/lost metrics do not give 100% certainty. This might be because of how we manage that, but we find that the charts out of that other tool provide more detail. **What problems is ScalePad Quoter solving and how is that benefiting you?** Allowing me to use different legal entities within the same quoting system, which I wouldn't be able to do if using a CRM/project manager. This allows us to centralize all work done in a single platform/account. ### 4. Quoter changed the game for us. It syncs perfectly with our PSA tool, is simple to use, and we can trust the data that it is pulling/pushing from our different distributors and PSA tool. **What do you dislike about ScalePad Quoter?** It does not have all of our distributors. **What problems is ScalePad Quoter solving and how is that benefiting you?** E-Signature. Our clients love having this option. They also like being able to select optional items on the quote. Accuracy. Quoter makes our quoting process so much more accurate than it was before Approval Policies. Now, we are able to provide a more appealing and action-commanding quote in a shorter period of time. ### 21. This means we spend less time on training new sales staff and more time selling! The support and product development is also next level - if there is something that quoter isn't able to do for you, the team will go out of their way to build it into the next release of the product - they are amazing! **What do you dislike about ScalePad Quoter?** The only downside I can see is that the spellcheck function doesn't work in the text field box - I have seen this happen with many other web-based applications, however, even this quoter has assured me that the developers are working on a new and improved text box which will address this shortly! The only other area I think could improve is the post-sales functionality - i.e. creating an internal summary report for each sale which has the customer name on it and lists all the line items sold with the product code, description, qty, cost price, supplier, sell price, internal notes, etc - this could then be passed onto the procurement team who will process the order of the equipment sold. **Recommendations to others considering ScalePad Quoter:** Go for it, you definitely won't be disappointed! **What problems is ScalePad Quoter solving and how is that benefiting you?** Quoter has been instrumental in facilitating the scaling up of our sales team in Zenotec. In the past, we worked on word documents and PDF's for quotes, which required a huge amount of effort to offer a standardised quote and also file in such a manner that other team members could see what had previously been quoted to a customer and repeat similar quotes. Quoter allows us to quickly repeat quotes and streamline our sales process so we can focus more time on selling and less time on filing and creating quotes! We have also saved so much time and deduplication of work by integrating quoter with our accounting package (Quickbooks) - automatically creating invoices when a customer accepts a quote. Integrations with other tools are critical to our overall business development process and Quoter works well with our PSA. **What do you dislike about ScalePad Quoter?** Sometimes the integration with our other tools (PSA) is particular and less intuitive than the platform overall. Requires more troubleshooting (ex integration errors often require support involvement) **Recommendations to others considering ScalePad Quoter:** Ensure your other relevant tools have integrations set up with Quoter or discuss integrations with the Quoter team. It dramatically improves the value of the tool. **What problems is ScalePad Quoter solving and how is that benefiting you?** Using Quoter, we were able to expand our capacity to support clients and turn around new business development. Not only in terms of turnaround time on quote generation but in terms of developing and tracking quotes for existing clients which is essential to our retention strategy. Moreover, these operational functions, which are only a part of our overall workload, are not absorbing increasingly copious amounts of time. ### 23. All customers/contacts are pulled from Autotask and if they don't exist they are pushed into Autotask and created as new companies. Quotes sync as opportunities and then when won we convert them into Projects/Tickets for action by our team. This works really well. 3) Support - although we don't have to contact Quoter often, when we do we always receive prompt responses and they are very knowledgeable and helpful. **What do you dislike about ScalePad Quoter?** It is very difficult to pick out dislikes with Quoter as we have not had any significant issues during our 3 years. The only dislike I could see at the moment is the ability not to have "Email Templates". Quite often we use the same quote template but send a standard email for various things i.e. customer firewall renewals, server warranty renewals and it would be handy to be able to select a "template" for each of these scenarios. **What problems is ScalePad Quoter solving and how is that benefiting you?** Quoter helped massively reduce administration time in creating quotes and managing the whole procurement process. Previously we heavily relied on physical copies of Quotes which often leads to things being lost but with Quoter everything is digital and synced into our PSA so it can't be lost. Admin time was reduced significantly and more professional quotes with online digital acceptance allowed us to send quotes very quickly and efficiently. **Official Response from Scott Bauer:** > Awesome feedback - thank you. Pricing is awesome. We cut out costs of Connectwise sell from a couple hundred dollars per month to $200 with Quoter. Creating quote templates is super easy. The quotes look really professional to. We also like the e-signature option. It makes getting approvals super easy. **What do you dislike about ScalePad Quoter?** It does not publish line items to CRMs like Pipedrive or Hubspot. It can only publish revenue figures which is kind of a hassle because we have to rebuild each opportunity when it publishes from Quoter to Pipedrive. Overall it works really well. I'm not sure any quote tool successfully does this. **What problems is ScalePad Quoter solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have four sales people all using this tool and it has really streamlined the quoting process. The biggest hassle in the VAR / MSP space is getting quotes that have less than $100 in margin quoted and approved in a timely fashion. Quoter allows us to execute higher volumes of quotes more efficiently without sacrificing the overall look of the proposals. ### 25. In the past we used Microsoft Dynamics CRM, which didn't have this function. We had to manually collect credit card info, which not only took extra time and was an extra step in the ordering process for our customers but also was a potential liability for us having to store that info. **What do you dislike about ScalePad Quoter?** Honestly, there aren't any major downsides to Quoter. Most of my initial complaints about it have been fixed since we started using it a few years ago. At this point, I think my only complaint would be that when importing items the importer often errors out if I try to import more than 1000 line items. Most of our pricelists are above that threshold, so I end up having to split the import into multiple spreadsheets. It's not a big issue, but just adds a little extra time to our import process. Also, one other complaint would be the lack of a "mass-delete" tool, with the ability to delete all items based on a certain manufacturer or some other searchable field. Right now you can only delete 50 at a time, which when we have 1000+ SKUs from a manufacturer having to delete them 50 at a time adds up. **What problems is ScalePad Quoter solving and how is that benefiting you?** I already covered it in the first box, but by far the biggest benefit has just been the ability to streamline our quoting and ordering process. Now our reps can just build the quote quickly, send it to the customer, and not have to worry about chasing down credit card info or anything like that. ### 26. Anytime I run into a question or issue, I can get in touch with our support rep (Jennifer) and she quickly and effectively sheds light to the preexisting solution or a workaround. **What do you dislike about ScalePad Quoter?** The versioning that Quoter uses confuses some of our 3rd party plug-ins. For example, we use different versions in Quoter as different versions of solutions that can fix an issue for our customers. In some cases, customers select multiple solutions from that pool to use simultaneously. When that happens, Autotask and Pipedrive think that the same quote was accepted twice. **Recommendations to others considering ScalePad Quoter:** Take time to set up Items &Templates correctly. This will save you hours later down the road. **What problems is ScalePad Quoter solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are solving costing issues and using Quoter to show clear margins, especially with complex items being quoted like IT Servers or Phone Systems. While this product worked ok, designing templates was futile. **What do you dislike about ScalePad Quoter?** - Integration with ConnectWise Manage could use some improvements. For example, Quoter does not keep track of opportunity types. Such as hardware, managed services, project SOW, etc. It would be nice if this information could be sent over to CW. - Quoter can get expensive. Especially since they charge you for reporting. This should be included with at least the Standard plan. - You need to pay extra for SSO. With a few clicks you can send a quote to a customer. It's possible to send them directly via Socket or just download the generated quote and send it with your own email program. It has a connector to CRM's so that the quote automatically is saved as an opportunity in the CRM. When the prospect or customer receives a quote, they can order directly by clicking a button on the quote PDF. Multi-currency is available. Their customer support is very responsive and friendly. They add new tools consistently. **What do you dislike about ScalePad Quoter?** There are some features that need to be improved. As they keep working on improving their tool, I'm really looking forward to these problems get solved soon: After an order, you can generate an invoice. By doing that, there is still some information from the quote included (this is no surprise, since it's still the quote but with an invoice title on it): "expires", "quote number" **What problems is ScalePad Quoter solving and how is that benefiting you?** We started using a new CRM system, that can't generate quotes with other currencies than US Dollar. So we were looking for an easy tool that can be connected with our new CRM system.
