## Qostodian Reviews
  ### 1. Discover Unknown Sensitive Data with Qostodian's Effective Solutions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Packaging and Containers | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Qostodian?**

Qostodian has been a great tool for helping us find sensitive data across a bunch of different sources (OneDrive, Sharepoint, Workstation, FileShare). It's fast, easy to use, and allowed us to discover sensitive data that we didn't know we had. We had a lot of false positives at first but most of them have all been fixed by their new improvements.

**What do you dislike about Qostodian?**

At first, there were a lot of false positives, which made it harder to trust the results. A lot of it was because our internal data looked similar to sensitive pattern. The good thing is they've fixed a lot of it with updates, but some fine-tuning is still needed depending on your setup. They helped us to solve this problem.

**What problems is Qostodian solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Qostodian helps us ensure that only authorized individuals have access to sensitive information and that this data complies with the latest regulations in our region.

  ### 2. Powerful Tool to reduce privacy organization risk

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** François S. | Directeur Principal TI et Services d'entreprise, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Qostodian?**

The tool is able to quickly give deep insights on the privacy information residing within the organization, by reporting and alerting. It is easy to focus on high risk sources or individuals, so the results come quickly.

**What do you dislike about Qostodian?**

Access to raw data information is tricky

**What problems is Qostodian solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before the implementation of Qostodian, we always looked at trying to classify the information we had on a file level, but with Qostodian we are able to tackle it at the information level, so it give a more comprehensive reporting and it's easier to take action on specific type of information and it doesn't rely on classification. It's able to shed some light on forgotten places or broken processes.

  ### 3. Data Security Made Simple

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard E. | Proactive Support Expert, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Qostodian?**

I like the face that the agent allows me to scan all data on a workstation and server and catagorse the information and put it in a easy to understand output to allow for easy reporting

**What do you dislike about Qostodian?**

I am not a fan that it also shows information that isn't needed as it will rank information that matches it criteria but will display this in the portal i think if the score is below 0.6 certain then the information isn't needed to be put into the report

**What problems is Qostodian solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a large organisation and Data security is at the forefront for us so with Qohash we are now able to scan for sensitive data that is on the users computer and should be on the file shares, this benifits us as it allows us to make the workstation secure and we are confident that the data is secured

  ### 4. Great tool backed by an amazing team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shadi S. | Directeur d'actifs en sécurité cloud (SASE), Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Qostodian?**

I’ve had the pleasure of implementing Qostodian Data Security Posture Management with my team, and I must say, it has exceeded all my expectations. The team behind this tool is outstanding and incredibly agile. They are always ready to adapt and respond to any challenges that arise, ensuring a seamless experience for their users.

The tool itself is remarkably intuitive and easy to deploy. From the moment we integrated it into our system, it has been smooth sailing. One of the most impressive aspects is that it has no impact on our production performance due to its low ressources requirements, which is crucial for maintaining our operational efficiency.

Moreover, the support team takes every case seriously and goes above and beyond to resolve any issues. Their proactive approach and dedication to customer satisfaction are truly commendable. Overall, Qostodian Data Security Posture Management is a top-notch solution for anyone looking to enhance their data security posture without compromising on anything.

**What do you dislike about Qostodian?**

One area for improvement is the current lack of integration with external syslog systems. Adding this feature would greatly enhance our ability to manage cases that need to be handled by our SOC. However, I’m pleased to share that this enhancement has already been added to our roadmap during our recent QBR. This proactive step demonstrates the team’s commitment to continuous improvement and responsiveness to user feedback.

**What problems is Qostodian solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The tool help to identify the security risk of our endpoints and provides a score that helps to evaluate the evolution of the security posture of our organisation.

  ### 5. Excellent product with great support team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rod M. | Systems Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Qostodian?**

Using both their Recon and Prime solutions and both work great. Scans are lightweight, no performance issues noticed in either our cloud tenant, workstations, or servers. Product support team is great and very responsive and they are continually adding features/improvements as the development goes on. Installation and configuration was pretty straight forward for both platforms and didn't require significant changes to any of our environments. Workstation agents were easily able to be pushed via our MDM.

**What do you dislike about Qostodian?**

Some automation was missing at deployment (automated scans/datastore detection) but most of those have been implemented over the last few releases. Occasionally there's some bugs but understandable with a new product and support is always quick to acknowledge and plan fixes in releases.

**What problems is Qostodian solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easily detecint and identifing sensitive information on our user's workstations, cloud accounts, and file servers. Massive time savings and easy compliance management.

  ### 6. Powerful tool for risky data analysis

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Qostodian?**

Very good at finding confidential data, and showing where and what was found. It found files and directories on our fileserver people had forgotten about for years, that contained credit card numbers in plain text, and automatically sorts the findings into departments straight from your AD. It is overall fairly easy to use, and their support team was outstanding at getting all the inititial configurations set up. It integrates with user devices, network drives, and Office 365 (email, sharepoint, etc.).

**What do you dislike about Qostodian?**

The reporting options are still 'a work in progress'. There no good way to quickly summarize the findings for management.

**What problems is Qostodian solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The product is highly effective at finding and clearly displaying confidential data found on user's devices, network drives, and Office 365. Data that in some cases has just been sitting there on old drives for years, completely forgotten but still accessible if an attacker were to get in and find it. This will greatly aid us in reducing risk and data loss in the event of a data breech.

  ### 7. Easy to use product with get customer service.

  ### 8. Best way to find unstructured sensitive data in your company

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fabrice D. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Qostodian?**

Qostodian Prime is the best solution i've found for inventorying sensitive data across workstations, a vital function for identifying and mitigating data exposure risks. Its scanning capabilities are both efficient and thorough, supporting the development of targeted security strategies. The platform is user-friendly with easy-to-manage agents. Recently, they've added remediation features that enable the removal of sensitive data from endpoints (the best measure that reduces risk). Additionally, their highly responsive support and the opportunity to influence their product roadmap based on our needs are the aspects we appreciate the most. With the introduction of laws like loi-25 and project bill C-27, these activities have become crucial, and organizations will need to comply. Overall, i think that Qostodian DSPM is indispensable in establishing a robust foundation for data security in any organization.

**What do you dislike about Qostodian?**

- Lots of agent versions (but it come with new features),
- Would love to have a full self hosted onpremises version for Qostodian Prime

**What problems is Qostodian solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding sensitive unstructured data on workstation and help to remove it.

Some limitations regarding the segregation of reports consultation in the online site was reported. There is also the fact that the Recon engine is not running as a service.

It helped us identify were our sensitive data was kept and made sure it was secured properly.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Philippe L. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Qostodian?**

The solution helps you know who in your organization has the most sensible data. It also helps you find, granularly, the source of a data leak from on-prem to the cloud. Also easy to implement.

**What do you dislike about Qostodian?**

It's not made for structured data. Even though most data you lack visibility on is unstructured, connecting the solution to databases would be an additional advantage.

**What problems is Qostodian solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The solution helps you create better data governance. It also enables you to get better visibility and control over your data. Finally, getting visibility on data at rest and in transit on endpoints is a considerable advantage.
