A job is created once and carries the shipper and consignee, MBL and HBL records, containers, ports, dates, documents and costs, with the invoice raised against that same record. Quotation, job and invoice are three stages of one thing rather than three files that have to be reconciled later. Modules cover quotation and rate management, sea, air and land operations, MBL and HBL handling, multi-currency accounting with receivables and payables, HR, and reporting. Role-based access decides who sees rates and margins and who sees only operations. Pricing is flat and includes unlimited users. Most systems in this category charge per user or per transaction, which means a forwarder pays more for hiring an operations clerk or for having a good month. Portus does not, so the cost of the software stays predictable as the business grows. Browser-based, nothing to install, and set up per company rather than on shared infrastructure. Portus is built and supported by M.Y. Techlancer in Karachi, and runs in production with freight forwarding companies today. ## Portus ERP Reviews ### 1. Every job meant a file, and every file had to be updated by hand. The first real difference was speed. Work that used to take a whole morning now takes a fraction of that, and human errors have dropped noticeably, because the information is entered once and carries through instead of being retyped into three places. The bigger change was in how the team works. Staff now depend on the system rather than on their own separate files. That sounds small but it is the thing that actually changes a company. When someone is away, the work does not stop with them. **What do you dislike about Portus ERP?** It should make more use of AI inside the workflow. Right now the system removes the retyping, but there is still a lot a person has to sit and do. If the software could handle more of that on its own, the work would move faster again. I have raised this with them and I would like to see it come sooner rather than later. **What problems is Portus ERP solving and how is that benefiting you?** It replaced spreadsheets and Word documents as the way we run jobs, so there is one record instead of several versions of the same file. Fewer mistakes, faster turnaround, and the work is no longer sitting in one person's laptop. I would recommend it to another forwarder. Software in this category is very expensive, and the established vendors price it as though the customer has nowhere else to go.
