More customisation to dashboards and reports would be a welcome feature for those who do not want to take their data into a BI solution or back into Excel for more bespoke reporting.

It provides a single source of truth for budgeting and forecasting, with automated reporting and live data. I also like the spotlight reporting, and the fact that there’s no need to tie out data across multiple sources. The workforce planning capabilities are helpful, and the collaborative environment makes it easier for budget managers to work together. Implementation can take a long time. Some of the tools aren’t as strong as they could be—for example, the Marketing module isn’t integrated with the main finance platform. We also need consulting support on a regular basis to keep things running smoothly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The mix of forecasting and reporting capabilities is what keeps us on the platform. Rolling forecasts and scenario planning are easy to manage, so when assumptions change we can flex the model quickly without breaking anything.

Spotlight is easily the standout feature for me. Being able to pull live data straight into Excel using familiar formula syntax, rather than the old copy-and-paste-into-supporting-tabs approach, has saved our team hours every reporting cycle. It makes ad hoc analysis much faster, and the ability to refresh board packs or management reports with one click means we’re always working from a single source of truth instead of relying on stale exports.

I also like that we can structure the hierarchy to match how our company is actually organised, rather than being forced into a rigid template. That flexibility makes the overall reporting structure feel genuinely tailored to us.

On top of that, whenever we’ve run into issues, PAMS support has been responsive and easy to work with—which matters a lot when you’re up against tight month-end or budget deadlines. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

My main frustration is performance on larger reports. When you’re pulling a lot of data or running complex consolidations, it can slow down noticeably, which becomes a real bottleneck during month-end close when time is tight.

Implementation and onboarding also took longer than I expected. To really get the most out of the platform, you need a couple of internal people fully dedicated to owning the setup and configuration—it’s not something you can just hand off casually and expect to go smoothly.

I really like Planful's ease of use. It makes uploading budgets into the system pretty painless and much more efficient than other systems I've used in the past. The support team that helped implement the system has been extremely helpful and responsive to our requests, which I truly appreciate. I use Planful for all FP&A activities, including budget creation, budget vs. actual comparisons, and financial reporting. It's great that Planful solves the issue of having a single source of truth and integrates data to get rid of manual workflows. I think the reporting tool and dynamic planning capabilities in Excel are particularly good and flexible. They help us model the entire gross profit for our business effectively, keeping it organized and making the monthly roll-forward of data very simple. Additionally, Planful has been simple to use, acting as great partners who are both responsive and well-organized during setup. The system offers a wide range of option and flexibility to fit the need of most company. The system performs well with a high amount of data. The support also allow to feel confident is the system if issues were to arise. The customization also allow to meet unique business need. As the company scale and the data load become heavier, there are time where the system may become a little slower. While it is not always an issue, it may make bigger task more time consuming Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
