Petrasim is wonderful for 3D modelling, it allows for creating 3D georeferenced grids and surveys and then define layers and horizons (using seismic data or x, y, z data grids) and fill the space between layers with material properties such as density, porosity, permeability, thus simulating the subsurface with a lot of detail. However, where this software really shines is in the flow modules, you can module multiphase fluids and then simulate the possible injection wells, and production. Also you can even simulate CO2 sequestration for heavy oil simulations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Petrasim is not a very demanding software, however while running flow simulators you definitely require good hardware. Another fact about this software that I dislike is that the demo version doesn’t allow for simulating oil, just water, and when deciding if purchasing this software this can be a deciding factor so it should be included.
