## SAP Sustainability Control Tower Reviews
 ### 1. Centralized Sustainability Data, Real-Time Insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** RUDRESHANAIK B. | Field Plant Operation Engineer, Oil & Energy, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

I find the centralized data management in SAP Sustainability Control Tower incredibly valuable. It gives us a single source of truth for sustainability data, reducing manual efforts and improving accuracy across our oil and gas research operations. I appreciate the standardized KPIs which ensure consistent measurement and comparison across projects. The real-time dashboards are also a highlight for me as they provide quick visibility into performance and trends, supporting timely and informed decision-making. These features improve visibility, reduce manual efforts, and support accurate sustainability tracking and reporting.

**What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

One of the key challenges is achieving truly real-time data availability, as some sustainable data sources still rely on batch uploads or delayed input from upstream systems. This can limit immediate visibility in dashboards and requires additional coordination to keep data accurate and current. There is also a long learning curve during setup, particularly when aligning data models and KPIs across complex oil and gas research industry operations, which can take time to optimize.

**What problems is SAP Sustainability Control Tower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use SAP Sustainability Control Tower to consolidate sustainability data, monitor KPIs, and ensure compliance. It centralizes ESG data, reduces manual reporting, supports accurate tracking, offers single-source truth, standardized KPIs, and real-time dashboards, improving visibility and decision-making in oil and gas research.

 ### 2. Centralized ESG Reporting and Real-Time Sustainability Dashboards Streamlined, More Transparent

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arkajit D. | Chief Technology Officer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

What I like best about SAP Sustainability Control Tower is the centralized visibility it provides for sustainability metrics, ESG reporting, and operational data across different business units. Before implementing it, our sustainability reporting process relied heavily on spreadsheets and manually consolidated reports, which made tracking progress and maintaining consistency extremely difficult.

One of the biggest advantages for us has been the ability to bring environmental, social, and governance data into a single platform with more structured reporting and monitoring capabilities. This improved transparency significantly for both internal leadership teams and external compliance reporting.

We also appreciated the integration with existing SAP systems because much of our operational and financial data was already within the SAP ecosystem. That made data collection and reporting workflows more connected and reduced duplicate manual effort.

Another strong point is the dashboard and analytics functionality. Leadership teams now have better real-time visibility into sustainability KPIs, emissions tracking, and broader ESG performance trends instead of relying only on static reporting cycles.

Overall, SAP Sustainability Control Tower helped streamline ESG reporting, improve data transparency, and support more data-driven sustainability decision-making across the organization.

**What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

One of the main challenges with SAP Sustainability Control Tower is the complexity involved in data collection, integration, and standardization during the initial implementation phase. Since sustainability reporting often depends on information coming from multiple operational, financial, and external systems, setting up accurate and reliable data flows required significant coordination across teams.

We also found that the platform has a fairly steep learning curve, especially for users who are newer to ESG reporting frameworks or sustainability data management processes. Some configuration and reporting workflows required additional technical and functional support during onboarding.

Another area that could improve is dashboard customization and reporting flexibility. While the platform provides strong visibility into sustainability metrics, creating highly tailored reports for different stakeholders sometimes required more manual adjustments than expected.

Performance and usability were generally solid, but certain administrative workflows felt more enterprise-focused and less intuitive for business users who only needed simpler reporting access.

That said, once the platform was properly configured and reporting structures were standardized, it became much more effective for centralized ESG tracking and sustainability reporting. Most of the limitations we experienced were related more to implementation complexity and data management maturity than the core capabilities of the platform itself.

**What problems is SAP Sustainability Control Tower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP Sustainability Control Tower helped us solve several challenges related to fragmented ESG reporting, inconsistent sustainability data, and limited visibility into environmental and operational performance across the organization.

Before implementing the platform, sustainability reporting was handled through spreadsheets and manually consolidated reports from multiple departments. This made it difficult to maintain consistent ESG metrics, track progress accurately, and respond efficiently to compliance or stakeholder reporting requirements.

The platform also improved collaboration between sustainability, finance, compliance, and operational teams. Earlier, collecting and validating sustainability-related information required significant manual coordination between departments. With centralized dashboards and reporting workflows, data sharing and reporting became much more streamlined.

Another major benefit has been improved audit readiness and reporting transparency. Having more traceable and standardized sustainability data reduced manual reconciliation work and improved confidence in external reporting processes.

From a business perspective, the platform helped improve ESG visibility, streamline sustainability reporting, support compliance efforts, and enable leadership teams to make more informed decisions around sustainability initiatives and operational improvements.

Overall, SAP Sustainability Control Tower created a more organized and scalable approach to managing sustainability performance and ESG reporting across the organization.

 ### 3. Unified ESG Reporting and Real-Time Sustainability Insights in One Platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Olusola Emmanuel O. | Business Analyst, Consulting, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

What I like best about SAP Sustainability Control Tower is its ability to bring sustainability data, ESG reporting, and operational insights into a single centralised platform. Many organisations struggle with fragmented sustainability information spread across finance systems, operational tools, spreadsheets, and supplier reports. SAP Sustainability Control Tower helps solve this by creating a unified view of sustainability performance across the business.

Another strong feature is its real-time monitoring and analytics capability. The platform allows organisations to track ESG metrics, carbon emissions, sustainability targets, and compliance requirements using dashboards and automated reporting. This helps leadership teams make data-driven decisions rather than relying on manual reporting cycles.

The integration with existing SAP environments is also valuable because it reduces duplication and improves data consistency across finance, procurement, operations, and sustainability reporting.

From a Business Analyst and transformation perspective, the platform stands out because it connects sustainability goals with operational execution. Instead of sustainability being treated as a separate reporting exercise, it becomes embedded into business processes, performance measurement, and strategic decision-making. That makes it more practical and valuable for long-term transformation initiatives.

**What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

One area that could be better in SAP Sustainability Control Tower is the complexity of implementation and integration. For organisations with multiple legacy systems or non-SAP environments, integrating sustainability data sources can require significant configuration, data mapping, and governance effort. Smaller organisations or teams with limited technical expertise may find the setup process resource-intensive compared to lighter ESG reporting tools.

Another challenge is usability and user adoption. While the platform is powerful, some users may find the interface and reporting configuration complex, especially business teams that are not deeply familiar with SAP ecosystems or sustainability frameworks.

Data quality and standardisation can also be difficult. Sustainability reporting often depends on collecting data from suppliers, operational systems, and third-party sources that may not follow consistent formats. While the platform provides governance capabilities, organisations still need strong internal data management processes to ensure accurate ESG reporting

**What problems is SAP Sustainability Control Tower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I worked on a project for a financial service organisation who struggled with collecting and consolidating sustainability and ESG data across multiple departments, regional systems, and spreadsheets. Reporting was highly manual, data quality was inconsistent, and preparing quarterly ESG reports often took several weeks. The lack of centralised visibility also made it difficult for leadership teams to track carbon emissions, supplier sustainability metrics, and regulatory compliance obligations in real time.

By implementing SAP Sustainability Control Tower, the organisation was able to centralise sustainability data into a single platform, automate ESG reporting workflows, and create real-time dashboards for tracking environmental and operational performance.

We were able to monitor, manage, and report sustainability performance in near real time through a centralised platform, which has resulted in a 60% reduction in manual reporting effort, improved data accuracy, faster regulatory reporting cycles, and stronger executive decision-making around sustainability goals.”

 ### 4. Data driven sustainability tracking with strong enterprise insights

**Reviewed by:** Dharamveer p. | Application Security Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

What I like best about SAP Sustainability Control Tower is how it brings all sustainability related data into one centralized platform. It helps track ESG metrics in a structured way, which makes reporting and decision making much easier. I also like how it provides real time visibility into sustainability performance across different business units, which helps in identifying gaps and improving compliance. The integration with other SAP systems also makes it more practical for enterprise environments.

**What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

One drawback of SAP Sustainability Control Tower is that it can feel complex to configure and understand initially, especially for teams that are new to ESG platforms. The learning curve is a bit steep, and setup requires proper alignment with existing data sources. It may also feel heavy for smaller organizations that do not have mature sustainability processes in place.

**What problems is SAP Sustainability Control Tower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP Sustainability Control Tower solves the problem of fragmented sustainability data spread across multiple systems and manual reporting efforts. It automates ESG data collection, tracking, and reporting in a structured way, which reduces manual work and improves accuracy. For me, it helps in getting a clear view of sustainability KPIs, simplifying compliance reporting, and supporting better decision making with data driven insights. Overall, it improves transparency and efficiency in sustainability management.

 ### 5. Excellent Real-Time Fiori Dashboards for Steering Carbon Goals Alongside Finance

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gokul P. | Lead Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

The real-time visibility through the Fiori-based dashboards is excellent. It allows us to move beyond once-a-year reporting and actually 'steer' the business toward our carbon goals month-to-month. Being able to see the 'green line' alongside our financial performance in one ecosystem is a huge advantage

**What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

The initial setup and data mapping can be quite complex and time-consuming. To get the most out of the tool, you really need a team that understands both the deep technical side of the SAP ecosystem and the specific nuances of ESG reporting frameworks. It isn't exactly a 'plug-and-play' solution.

**What problems is SAP Sustainability Control Tower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the massive problem of data fragmentation. Before, our ESG data was scattered across dozens of spreadsheets, making it nearly impossible to produce an audit-ready report. Now, we have a centralized system that satisfies regulatory requirements like CSRD. This benefits me by significantly reducing the time spent on manual data collection and increasing my confidence in our reporting accuracy.

 ### 6. Trusted, Actionable Sustainability Insights That Align Teams Across the Enterprise

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** bhasker j. | user, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

Cross-team alignment: Easier buy-in from procurement, operations, and finance because everyone uses the same trusted numbers.

Actionable insights: Enables identification of concrete levers (e.g., fuel mix, supplier choices) rather than just visibility.

Enterprise fit: Best for mid-to-large organisations already on SAP; not ideal as a quick, standalone solution for small teams.

Implementation effort: Requires significant data mapping and cleanup up front, and often partner or SAP support.

Cost consideration: Licensing and implementation can be costly, so value increases with broad organisational adoption.

**What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

Here are honest, human-feel points about what I dislike (pain points and trade-offs) with SAP Sustainability Control Tower — short, clear, and practical.

Heavy data prep: It needs substantial data mapping and cleanup before dashboards become useful; expect a non-trivial data project rather than a quick setup.

SAP-first constraints: It works best inside the SAP landscape; integrating non‑SAP systems or adding custom logic often needs partners or extra effort.

Feature gaps and limits: Some metric imports and GHG classifier support are limited (e.g., restricted to specific substances or location types), which can force workarounds.

Cost and resource intensity: Licensing plus implementation/partner costs can be high; ROI is best when many teams use it.

Usability polish: A few areas feel more enterprise-technical than user-friendly, so business users sometimes rely on IT or consultants for configuration and reports.

Risk of vendor lock-in: Deep reliance on SAP’s models and ecosystem can make future flexibility and migrations harder without vendor/partner support.

If you want, I can convert these into a short G2-style “cons” paragraph or a one-line summary for a review field

**What problems is SAP Sustainability Control Tower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Short answer: It solves fragmented ESG data and slow, manual reporting by centralising metrics, automating calculations, and linking sustainability to operational and financial systems—so teams can act faster and report with confidence.

What problems it solves

Fragmented data across systems: It brings energy, emissions, waste, and HR/operational data into one place, so you’re no longer stuck reconciling spreadsheets or chasing conflicting numbers.

Slow, error-prone reporting: Prebuilt models and templates automate many ESG calculations and generate auditable reports, cutting manual effort and reducing audit risk.

Lack of business alignment: By connecting sustainability metrics with financial and operational master data, it makes sustainability visible in budgeting and procurement decisions.

Inability to spot risks and opportunities: Consolidated dashboards and KPIs help surface hotspots (for example, high-emitting sites or suppliers), so you can prioritise the right interventions.

How that benefited me / typical benefits

Faster, trusted reporting: Monthly and regulatory reports that used to take days of manual consolidation now run with consistent, auditable numbers.

Clearer business cases: Linking emissions to cost drivers (energy, fuel, spend) made it much easier to build investment cases for efficiency initiatives or supplier-change pilots.

Cross-functional alignment: Procurement, operations, and finance started working from the same dataset, which sped up decisions and reduced finger-pointing.

Actionable steering: We moved from passive dashboards to targeted pilots (fuel switching, supplier engagement) because the Control Tower highlighted where the biggest gains were.

One brief example

We consolidated scope 1/2 data from three business units and used the Control Tower dashboards to select a plant for a fuel-switch pilot. That pilot delivered measurable emissions and cost improvements faster than our previous spreadsheet-driven approach.

If you want, I can convert this into a single G2-style answer (one short paragraph) or a two-line comment tailored to procurement, carbon accounting, or regulatory reporting

It helps solve the challenge of collecting and managing sustainability data from different sources by centralizing everything in one platform. As a result, ESG reporting becomes more accurate, visibility into sustainability performance improves, and the manual effort required to track goals and compliance requirements is reduced. For me, it saves time, keeps reporting more organized, and supports better decision-making by providing clearer, more consistent data.

 ### 17. Turns Complex ESG Data Into Clear, Actionable Insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

What I like most about SAP Sustainability Control Tower is the way it transforms complex sustainability data into clear, actionable insights. It enables companies to track ESG goals in real time and ties sustainability initiatives directly to business operations, making reporting and day-to-day decision-making far more practical and efficient.

**What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

One thing I dislike about SAP Sustainability Control Tower is that the implementation can feel complex, especially for companies whose data is spread across multiple systems. Bringing accurate ESG data into a single place often takes significant setup and integration work, plus ongoing maintenance. As a result, adoption can end up being slower than expected.

**What problems is SAP Sustainability Control Tower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP Sustainability Control Tower addresses the challenge of managing scattered sustainability and ESG data across different departments and systems. It centralizes reporting, enables real-time tracking of sustainability goals, and helps improve data accuracy. The biggest benefit for me is gaining a clearer view of performance and compliance, without spending excessive time on manual reporting or ongoing data consolidation.

 ### 18. Centralized Sustainability Hub with Some Setup Hurdles

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Harrith P. | Social & Activation Strategist (AM), Digital

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

I like that SAP Sustainability Control Tower provides a clear unified view of service performance. The data is trusted and audit-ready, which I find very valuable. It offers action-oriented insights, not just numbers, which makes it easier for us to make informed decisions. The platform also aligns businesses with sustainability goals and helps future-proof regulation. Additionally, it is quite easy to use compared to doing things manually.

**What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

I think what could be improved is that the initial setup is a little bit complex, especially when the data sits across multiple non-SAP systems. The governance structure also isn't defined as much as it could be. The dashboards are strong, but the user experience with nontechnical teams could be a little bit difficult. For example, ESG teams without SAP experience could face a learning curve. Also, the scope three and value chain data handling is a bit difficult at times because the data often relies on estimates. Suppliers' data collection can be manual, and granularity kind of varies as well. The predictive and forward-looking analytics, like advanced scenario modeling, could have more embedded capabilities and usage over the device.

**What problems is SAP Sustainability Control Tower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use SAP Sustainability Control Tower as a centralized hub to manage environmental, social, and governance data. It monitors sustainability metrics, automates regulatory reporting, and integrates sustainability into operations while providing trusted, audit-ready data and actionable insights.

 ### 19. Streamlines Sustainability Reporting Seamlessly

**What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

I think it can further make simpler user experience and more advanced integrations which will be seamless.

**What problems is SAP Sustainability Control Tower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP Sustainability Control Tower helps prepare accurate reports, track performance, and make measurable decisions. I like its integration with core operations for seamless alignment.

 ### 20. Turns Fragmented ESG Data into Audit-Ready, Actionable Reporting

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Events Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

What stands out most about SAP Sustainability Control Tower is how effectively it turns fragmented ESG data into something structured, reliable, and actionable. Many organizations struggle because sustainability information is scattered across multiple systems - finance, procurement, and supply chain - yet SCT brings it together into a single source of truth.

It’s especially strong for audit-ready reporting. It helps companies respond to growing regulatory requirements like CSRD by providing traceable, governed data, rather than relying on manual spreadsheets. Another major advantage is its tight integration with the SAP ecosystem, which allows sustainability metrics to connect directly to operational processes instead of being treated as a standalone exercise.

Beyond reporting, SCT also supports performance management by linking targets, initiatives, and outcomes so teams can actively monitor progress. Overall, it shifts sustainability from a compliance task into a measurable, embedded business function that leaders can manage and act on.

**What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

One drawback of SAP Sustainability Control Tower is that it can feel heavy and complex to implement, especially when your data isn’t already well structured within SAP systems.

It’s also quite SAP-centric. If you depend on non-SAP tools, integration may take additional effort and time. Some users also feel the flexibility is limited compared with more specialized ESG platforms, particularly when it comes to niche metrics or custom reporting requirements.

Finally, ongoing maintenance can be resource-intensive, both for data governance and for the internal expertise needed to run it effectively. If the organization isn’t fully prepared, this can slow adoption.

**What problems is SAP Sustainability Control Tower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP Sustainability Control Tower mainly addresses the problem of fragmented and unreliable sustainability data. In many companies, ESG information is scattered across different systems and spreadsheets, which makes it difficult to trust the numbers, report them consistently, or take action based on them.

It also helps with regulatory pressure. With frameworks like CSRD, companies need accurate, auditable data rather than manual, spreadsheet-driven reporting. SCT adds structure, traceability, and stronger governance to the process.

Another major issue is the lack of connection to day-to-day business operations. Sustainability efforts are often disconnected from finance or supply chain decisions, but SCT links ESG metrics directly to those processes.

Benefit to you: You get a single source of truth, faster and more dependable reporting, and less manual work. It also provides clearer visibility for decision-making, so sustainability becomes something you can actively manage ands not just report on once a year.

SAP Sustainability Control Tower supports decision-making, aids regulatory compliance, tracks performance, and consolidates data for carbon footprint tracking and EHG reporting in one platform.

 ### 25. SAP Sustainability Control Tower Brings Financial-Grade Discipline to ESG Data

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

What stands out most about the SAP Sustainability Control Tower (SCT)—especially for enterprise teams and sustainability officers—is the way it helps organizations move past “spreadsheet chaos” and bring real, financial-grade discipline to their ESG data.

**What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

While the platform is a major step forward for enterprise ESG tracking, it’s definitely not a “plug-and-play” magic bullet. In many ways, the same things that make it powerful also create its biggest hurdles. If you talk to enterprise architecture teams and sustainability officers who have actually gone through an implementation,

**What problems is SAP Sustainability Control Tower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At its core, SAP Sustainability Control Tower (SCT) is designed to bridge a major operational gap: the disconnect between a company’s financial systems and its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) tracking.

 ### 26. All Our Sustainability & Carbon Data in One Place—Seamless HANA Integration

It replacted our spreadsheets based carbon accounting and esg reporting with a governed and auditable system. essencial for our csrd readiness . we are also cost cutting for vendor pricing

 ### 27. SAP Sustainability Control Tower Benefits

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

What I like most about SAP Sustainability Control Tower is how it finally brings all the scattered sustainability data into one place. Before this, pulling ESG metrics together felt like a mix of spreadsheets, emails, and guesswork. With Control Tower, everything updates in real time, and you can actually see how different parts of the business impact your overall goals instead of waiting for month‑end reports.

**What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

If I’m being honest, the biggest downside of SAP Sustainability Control Tower is the setup. It’s not something you can just plug in and start using. Getting all the data sources aligned and mapped correctly takes more time and technical effort than I expected. You definitely need someone who knows their way around SAP to get the most out of it.
I’ve also noticed that customizing dashboards isn’t as flexible as I’d like. The standard views look great, but when you need something tailored to your team or your reporting style, it feels like you run into limitations pretty quickly.
Lastly, performance can lag a bit when you’re working with larger datasets or trying to drill into more detailed views. It’s not constant, but it’s noticeable enough to mention.

**What problems is SAP Sustainability Control Tower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP Sustainability Control Tower makes it easy to track and monitor sustainability metrics across our supply chain. It helps us make better decisions, stay compliant with regulations, and run our operations more efficiently and sustainably.

**What problems is SAP Sustainability Control Tower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solving major resource management and Environment, sustainability and governance management also its ease of use and streamlined workflows enhance the experience and gives actionable insights

 ### 29. Good Integration with SAP, but Data Setup Takes Effort

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hirdesh P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2025

**What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

What I appreciate most about the SAP Sustainability Control Tower is the clarity it offers regarding sustainability data throughout the organization. It consolidates environmental, social, and governance metrics into a unified dashboard, simplifying the process of tracking progress, pinpointing gaps, and reporting on sustainability objectives.

Additionally, a significant advantage is its seamless integration with existing SAP systems. This integration minimizes the need for manual data collection and enhances data consistency, which is essential for precise reporting. Ultimately, it transforms sustainability from a broad goal into a measurable and actionable aspect of the business.

**What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

One of the primary challenges associated with the SAP Sustainability Control Tower is the intricate nature of data setup and integration, particularly when gathering sustainability data from various systems or non-SAP sources. The initial configuration and mapping of metrics can be a lengthy process that often necessitates specialized knowledge. Furthermore, certain sustainability metrics and reporting functionalities may still appear limited or in development, indicating that organizations might need additional tools or manual intervention to comprehensively fulfill all reporting and regulatory obligations.

**What problems is SAP Sustainability Control Tower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The SAP Sustainability Control Tower addresses the challenge of fragmented and inconsistent sustainability data within an organization. Rather than relying on manual data collection from various teams and systems, it offers a centralized platform to monitor sustainability metrics, targets, and performance. This facilitates a clearer understanding of the organization's current status and its progress toward sustainability objectives.

As a result, we have experienced enhanced transparency and improved accuracy in reporting. The data is more uniform, the reporting process is less labor-intensive, and stakeholders gain better insights into sustainability performance. Additionally, it enables the transformation of sustainability initiatives into quantifiable actions, thereby supporting more effective planning, compliance, and decision-making.

 ### 30. Centralized ESG Visibility with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

I really like the centralized visibility into ESG metrics that SAP Sustainability Control Tower provides. It supports standardized reporting across the organization with ease and makes it simpler to compare performance across sites and business units in real time.

**What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

It could improve its data ingestion flexibility and make some of the ESG metric configuration less technical. Better plug and play data connectors and a simpler, no-code way to configure ESG metrics would be big improvements.

**What problems is SAP Sustainability Control Tower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use SAP Sustainability Control Tower to track ESG metrics and manage sustainability reporting, which helps centralize ESG data, improve reporting accuracy, and reduce manual effort in tracking sustainability KPIs across different business units.

 ### 31. A Powerful ESG “Steering Wheel” with Real-Time SAP Data and Smart AI Simulations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

To be honest, the thing I find most impressive about SAP Sustainability Control Tower is how it actually tackles the "messy" reality of corporate data. Most people in business management know that trying to pull ESG metrics together usually feels like a nightmare of endless spreadsheets and chasing people for numbers.

What’s genuinely great about this tool is that it stops being a passive reporting box and starts acting like a proper steering wheel. Because it plugs directly into your existing SAP systems, you aren't just guessing based on industry averages anymore. You are looking at real, live data from your operations. That level of accuracy is a massive relief when you're the one responsible for making sure everything is audit ready and compliant with things like CSRD.

The built in AI features are also a huge plus. Instead of just seeing that your carbon footprint is high, you can actually run simulations to see how specific changes might lower it. It feels less like a chore for the compliance department and more like a strategic tool that helps you make better decisions. For someone who has spent time mentoring others or managing high stakes environments, you can probably appreciate how much easier life is when the data is actually reliable and organized in one place.

**What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

Another thing that can be quite annoying is the steep learning curve. Even for someone with a background in business management, the back end is complex and relies heavily on understanding SAP’s Business Technology Platform. You often find yourself needing a specialist or an external consultant just to get the initial setup right, which takes away from the feeling of being in control of your own data.

The system can also feel a bit too rigid at times. Because it is built so strictly around global frameworks like CSRD, trying to track a unique or niche KPI that doesn't fit into their pre defined boxes is a real headache. You expect a high end tool to be flexible, but sometimes it feels like you are being forced to work the way the software wants you to, rather than the software working for you.

**What problems is SAP Sustainability Control Tower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

the benefit is really about moving from being reactive to being proactive. Instead of spending weeks just trying to gather the data to see where you stand, the automation does the heavy lifting for you. This allows you to spend your energy on the actual management side of things—like using the "what-if" simulations to figure out which sustainability initiatives will actually make an impact. It turns a compliance chore into a strategic advantage where you can actually prove the value of your decisions with hard evidence.

For someone with your background in human resources and business management, it also helps bridge the gap between social metrics and financial performance. You get a much clearer picture of how your "people" goals and environmental goals are actually interacting with the bottom line. It basically gives you the reliable foundation you need to lead a team or mentor others with total confidence in the numbers you're presenting.

 ### 32. Effective for Daily Tasks, Needs Integration Improvements

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Guillermo B.

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2025

**What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

I use SAP Sustainability Control Tower for my daily tasks and find it extremely beneficial across various areas. It solves multiple problems for me and significantly reduces the time needed for daily tasks. What I admire most is its ability to perform flawlessly when required, leaving me very satisfied. The centralized ESG data management feature is particularly valuable, offering faster and more accurate reporting while mitigating the risk of regulatory penalties.

**What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

I find the complex data collection and integration processes challenging. The data often resides in multiple SAP and non-SAP systems, which presents a key limitation. There's a need for more seamless connectors and APIs for third-party systems, as well as better automation for non-SAP sources.

**What problems is SAP Sustainability Control Tower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use SAP Sustainability Control Tower to streamline daily tasks, making them faster and more accurate. It centralizes ESG data management, reducing the risk of regulatory penalties. This tool helps me save time and improves reporting efficiency.

 ### 33. A Helpful Tool for Tracking Sustainability Efforts

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Riantsoa Santatra M. | Analyste QA Spécialisé, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2025

**What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

What I really appreciate about SAP Sustainability Control Tower is how it simplifies sustainability data management. Everything is centralized — indicators, goals, results, and historical data. I no longer need to search through multiple files or systems. The tool gives a very clear overview of our sustainability performance and makes it easy to spot areas that need attention. I also like how well it integrates with other SAP solutions, which makes the whole workflow much smoother.

**What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

The tool can feel a bit technical at the beginning, especially for someone new to SAP. It takes some time to get comfortable with all the features. Some dashboards also require a bit of configuration to get exactly the view you want.

**What problems is SAP Sustainability Control Tower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP Sustainability Control Tower helps mainly by eliminating the lack of visibility we used to have across our environmental data. Before using it, information was spread across multiple files and systems, which made the work slow and sometimes inconsistent.
Now everything is consolidated automatically — ESG indicators, energy consumption, emissions, and more — all in one place. This gives me an immediate and reliable overview of our performance.
As a result, I can track our sustainability goals more easily, prepare reports much faster, and share clear, up-to-date insights with management. It makes decision-making simpler and truly improves our efficiency on a daily basis.

 ### 34. clear view of sustainability data

**What problems is SAP Sustainability Control Tower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

sap sustainability control tower is solving the problem of having data in many different systems now i can see all the sustainability numbers like energy use water use and emissions in one place this helps me to follow goals and report to managers in a simple way it also makes it easier to show progress for audits and for company reports so it saves time and gives more clear decisions

 ### 35. Complex Setup and Integration Challenges Limit SAP Sustainability Control Tower's Potential

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mriganka R. | Associate Consultant III, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2025

**What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

its ability to provide a single source of truth for ESG data, deeply integrating with existing SAP systems (S/4HANA) for real-time insights, automating compliant reporting (GRI, SASB, etc.), and turning sustainability strategy into actionable performance management through powerful analytics and scenario planning, ultimately helping companies move beyond just compliance to drive real business value and efficiency

**What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

I dislike that SAP Sustainability Control Tower requires a complex and resource-intensive setup, has a steep learning curve, and can present challenges when integrating with non-SAP systems.

**What problems is SAP Sustainability Control Tower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data Silos & Fragmentation: Centralizes ESG data from SAP and third-party systems, ending reliance on spreadsheets and emails.
Reporting Complexity: Automates reporting for strict standards (CSRD, ESRS, EU Taxonomy, TCFD), making compliance faster and more reliable.
Lack of Visibility: Provides real-time, holistic views of performance across emissions (Scope 1, 2, 3), resource use, and social impact.

 ### 36. Intuitive Setup, Powerful Dashboarding

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam M. | Senior Technical Writer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2025

**What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

I like the pie charts that break down emissions by source in SAP Sustainability Control Tower. They are very powerful at a glance, making it easy for anyone to understand the information. This clarity is beneficial for sharing in newsletters and communications both internally and externally, as the data is presented very cleanly and is easy to understand. Over time, these charts allow us to track how our environmental footprint is changing and improving. I find the software intuitive, making it easy to set up and navigate, which allowed us to quickly input our data and build from there. The process of managing and reviewing data has been seamless, and I appreciate the ease of navigation that comes with SAP products. This seamless integration and ease of use reflect the efficiency and reliability expected from SAP Sustainability Control Tower.

**What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

I think the element that falls short is the accuracy of the data obtained from the Sustainability Footprint Management tool integration. The data's reliability heavily depends on how well it is measured or generated. For instance, when inputting vague concepts like transportation, the accuracy of those figures is uncertain. I hope this will improve over time, but as it stands, the data can be somewhat imprecise.

**What problems is SAP Sustainability Control Tower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use SAP Sustainability Control Tower for dashboard generation to track environmental performance, ensuring compliance and initiative management all within a single ecosystem, while integrating data from the sustainability footprint manager for stakeholder communications.

 ### 37. Effortless Audit-Ready Reporting and Seamless SAP Integration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Štěpán . | Business Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2025

**What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

What I like best about sustainability control tower is how easily it produces audit-ready sustainability reports. The data is consolidated in one place, and the dashboards make it simple to present data to management. This makes decision-making for management much faster and more reliable. Much better than spreadsheets. Implementation and integration with our SAP landscape were straightforward, and we use the tool regularly during reporting cycles.

**What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

One downside I’ve encountered is data handling, certain ESG metrics don’t always load or validate correctly, especially when integrating complex data sources. I raised this with support but couldn’t fully resolve it, so we still spend extra time reconciling data quality issues for some KPIs.

**What problems is SAP Sustainability Control Tower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us solve the challenge of scattered, manual ESG reporting by centralizing and harmonizing sustainability data into one platform, producing audit-ready reports that are presented to management

**What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

I like that SAP Sustainability Control Tower allows organizations to consolidate sustainability data across different business units and present it through clear dashboards aligned with ESG and SDG frameworks. It also integrates well with SAP’s broader ecosystem, making it easier for companies already using SAP in finance, HR, or supply chain to connect sustainability with operations. Another strong point is its alignment with global reporting standards such as GRI, SASB, and the UN SDGs, along with useful scenario analysis tools for tracking carbon reduction and resource efficiency goals.

**What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

The platform can be complex to implement, especially for organizations that are not already using SAP systems. It requires significant upfront configuration and strong change management to get the most out of it. Smaller organizations may also find it resource-intensive compared to lighter sustainability reporting tools available on the market.

**What problems is SAP Sustainability Control Tower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

Using SAP Sustainability Control Tower has really changed how we approach sustainability at our company. Instead of scrambling to gather ESG data from different sources, we now get real-time, reliable insights straight from our SAP systems — no more spreadsheets or guesswork. The dashboards are super user-friendly and actually make complex data easy to understand.
What I personally like is how the tool aligns with major reporting standards like GRI and TCFD, which takes a lot of pressure off when it comes to compliance. Plus, the ability to run different sustainability scenarios has helped us plan smarter and make more confident decisions.
There were a few bumps at the start when connecting some non-SAP systems, but once everything was up and running, the results were worth it. Overall, SAP Sustainability Control Tower has helped us go beyond just reporting

**What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Control Tower?**

There are a few things that could be better. Getting everything set up — especially integrating data from systems outside of SAP — took longer than we expected. It wasn’t exactly a smooth plug-and-play experience, and we needed some outside help to get it right.
Also, when we first started using it, there was a bit of a learning curve. The platform is powerful, but if you’re not already familiar with SAP tools, it can feel a little overwhelming at first.
Another thing is customization — the built-in metrics are great, but if you want to track something more specific to your organization, it’s not always easy to set up.
And of course, it’s not cheap. Between the licensing costs and implementation time, it’s definitely an investment. That said, once it's up and running, the value becomes more clear.

**What problems is SAP Sustainability Control Tower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before SAP Sustainability Control Tower, managing sustainability data felt like a messy puzzle — scattered spreadsheets and unreliable numbers made it hard to get a clear picture. Now, everything’s in one place with real-time info straight from our systems, saving us time and headaches. It’s made ESG reporting easier, faster, and more accurate, helping us stay compliant and make smarter decisions. Plus, the ability to run scenarios lets us plan for a more sustainable future with confidence.
