We can easily access our company floor plans which we have 30. We love how we can assign cubes and quickly identify workspaces as well. **What do you dislike about OpenBlue Workplace?** So, one thing I can say that I dislike about it is sometimes the system takes a little bit longer to upload. Not sure if it's a cloud/ network thing. We used to use Aperture and getting information out of the system was not easy. **What do you dislike about OpenBlue Workplace?** Having to know HTML to develop your own Home Page and having to use an old Internet Explorer version with Silverlight to develop our Home Page. Dashboard development in Silverlight is awful. As of right now you can't use the NEW dashboard tool unless FM hosts your system and my university has no intention of doing that so I am stuck with an antiquated system for home page and dashboard development. **What problems is OpenBlue Workplace solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have been able to use the system to analyze our departmental space assignments to develop space standards for future construction/renovation projects. As a state university we are required to submit annual reports to the state detailing our buildings and space utilization data. I integrated the Move module with digital software so that when moves post in FMS, the employee's name also posts to the nameplate at the corresponding location. Paper, time and resources are re-allocated with this digital integration. **What do you dislike about OpenBlue Workplace?** What I dislike about FMS Workplace is the time and coordination involved when resolving system issues. Coordination usually occurs with a technical person from FMS and someone from Information Technology on the client-side. Getting these two groups together takes quite a bit of effort. **Recommendations to others considering OpenBlue Workplace:** My recommendation is to list everything that you want to achieve by using FMS. Once you get up and running, it still takes some getting used to. **Recommendations to others considering OpenBlue Workplace:** Smartview is a great addition to Oracle Fusion. The ease of integration with Excel and other existing software is key to making it work properly. We still had glitches in pulling the proper balances but we're working on it with our Oracle team. **What problems is OpenBlue Workplace solving and how is that benefiting you?** Reconciling activity to the GL. It's a lot quicker than running an account analysis report or querying the balances. ### 21. I use SmartView to build complex reports that are distributed to the senior leaders of my organization. I also use the tools for Ad Hoc reports that I can create extremely quick. I would highly recommend this software to anyone that creates various reports on daily basis. **What do you dislike about OpenBlue Workplace?** One of my biggest complaints about SmartView is that you must used their defined parameters. There is very little flexibility of how the data is retrieved. Once you get used to the constraints it is an effective tool. **Recommendations to others considering OpenBlue Workplace:** Allow for more customization. **What problems is OpenBlue Workplace solving and how is that benefiting you?** The SmartView Software allows the retrieval of information at a rapid pace. You can`t use quick and easy shortcuts anymore as you could in Essbase. It seems like Essbase was faster to pull and populate the same data. **Recommendations to others considering OpenBlue Workplace:** Fairly quick and simple to learn and its a great tool other than the fact that the options never stay as selected. **What problems is OpenBlue Workplace solving and how is that benefiting you?** Quick business reporting saves time, with added macros financial models with Smartview can be used by the entire organization, even for employees that are not familiar with the system but want to take advantage of the quick data access. ### 24. This software automates this process. We also use this to record service needs so work orders can be created. It allows us to respond quickly, in most case a day or less. They could use a concurrent user model instead of named users. **Recommendations to others considering OpenBlue Workplace:** Your floor plans will need to be in a pretty clean state for implementation. Many implementations require time and money to standardize floor plan layers to properly display within the application. Keep your security simple, and configure the system with Single Sign On (SAML for example) to make it easy to share the information with people outside of the Real Estate department. **What problems is OpenBlue Workplace solving and how is that benefiting you?** Understanding the activity within the Real Estate portfolio allows us to make better decisions.
