**What do you like best about NetForum AMS?**

amount of data that can be stored, search capabilities, integration with other 3rd party software, ie email integration, limited edit ability, allows for multiple users

**What do you dislike about NetForum AMS?**

the language and categories are jargony and not necessarily intuitive. there is a learning curve when it comes to the platform and likely a lot of features that have gone unrealized

**What problems is NetForum AMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

keeping customer data up to date, grouping members by geographic locations, roles, etc. keeping track of invoices, managing email lists, integrating knowledge across departments

**What do you like best about NetForum AMS?**

It's a database for all our member information. It is able to store a lot of history. It can handle when you multiple entities.  I like that you can add notes to members profiles to note conversations that you have had with them or comments on the status of their account.

**What do you dislike about NetForum AMS?**

We've struggled for years to get the system to integrate with our accounting software despite enlisting the help of multiple consultants to assist with this process.  It runs slow much of the time. The data team seems to have trouble making updates because it's so customized.  People don't like using it for events because it's not as user friendly to attendees as something like event brite.  Trying to add new invoices feels like an overly complicated process.

make sure you understand how the system will integrate with other software that you use.

**What problems is NetForum AMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The software has helped us keep more data on our members and their interactions with us.  We are able to see the history of their involvement with our organization. It has helped the various departments around our organization communicate better with each other and be aware of past dealings that other departments have had with members you may be currently speaking with.

**What do you like best about NetForum AMS?**

I like that it has multiple fields to house donor information, it makes it robust and provides a variety of ways to collect information on our constituents.

**What do you dislike about NetForum AMS?**

I dislike that the user interface is a bit outdated in look and feel. It also does not integrate with other software well including marketing automation software, this was a really cumbersome problem.

**Recommendations to others considering NetForum AMS:**

Consider what software integrations you may want before procuring.

**What problems is NetForum AMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

NetForum enterprise acts as a CRM for our company. It is beneficial for us because we have many detailed nuances regarding donors and their preferences for donations and communication.

**What do you like best about NetForum AMS?**

NetForum looks at our data in a way that is relevant to membership organizations and allows the flexibility we need to manage our organizational memberships well. We have a relatively small member base, under 2000, but each organization can multiple locations and have hundreds of employees. 

**What do you dislike about NetForum AMS?**

We did not feel that there online member center using eweb met our needs and so built a completely separate member center using Umbraco. Using a consultants tools our web developer has been able to build a great member center and shopping experience for our customers and members.

**Recommendations to others considering NetForum AMS:**

It's hard to tell what will happen with NetForum Enterprise right now. They are working on bugs in their 2017 release rather than developing a new version. With recent mergers and changes at Community Brands we are nervous about the future of the software. I would be worried about the future if i were selectring NetForum today. 

**What problems is NetForum AMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to compile more data on our members and use NetForum to create a more streamlined experience for our members. NetForum has become our database of record and we are connecting all of our other customer facing systems to it.

**What do you like best about NetForum AMS?**

The ease of building custom integrations using the existing web methods and the inherent flexibility/customizability of the product's design.

**What do you dislike about NetForum AMS?**

The fact that the platform still hasn't fully adopted responsive design, and the fact that its integration points still largely rely on the aging SOAP protocol. Also, the benefits of inherent flexibility/customizability of the product are offset by the amount to which they can increase the effort/difficulty when upgrading to newer releases.

**Recommendations to others considering NetForum AMS:**

Fully evaluate all your needs and options, try to keep as much of the product as close to baseline as possible, and make sure all of your desired integration points can handle SOAP (or be prepared to add the cost of a third-party solution to provide a RESTful JSON interface to netFORUM's web methods).

**What problems is NetForum AMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We manage everything from membership, to meetings, to certification in netFORUM; including all related governance.

**What do you like best about NetForum AMS?**

There are a number of different modules that can be customized to each organization which provides for a huge warehouse of information. It can show sales, membership, volunteer participation, awards, contact information, and more. There are also several reporting tools that can be customized and the queries can be saved for a single user or shared within an entire organization.

**What do you dislike about NetForum AMS?**

The software can be slow and seem clunky. There are too many windows to open and it can be difficult to avoid duplicating records and linking organizations to an individual record. This makes it difficult to see how many members of an association are affiliated with a given organization.

**What problems is NetForum AMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides a useful warehouse of customer information and a centralized location for all staff members to keep track of information associated with an individual or organizational record.

**What do you like best about NetForum AMS?**

It is easy to search individuals and groups, I like that you can also search by email- which has proven to be very useful. I also like that if you are entering a new contact with the same email as someone already in the system, it will alert you 

**What do you dislike about NetForum AMS?**

When you are searching an organization, you have to type it in exactly correct or it will not find it- it should be able to find what you are looking for based on the most similar results- also, when updating an event, there is no easy way to "update all" for example, I am currently updating an event that we have every year and I have to change "2017" to "2018" at least 75 times, there should be a "change all" option

It is a very useful tool, but make sure you know how to use it before you dive in. Almost everything requires a lot of steps and most tasks are over complicated

**What do you like best about NetForum AMS?**

The platform does basic AMS applications well enough. It also manages membership sufficiently.  

**What do you dislike about NetForum AMS?**

They are not actually a CRM and are void of any true CRM capabilities.  Its lack of basic email integration and mobile responsiveness makes doing business difficult.  The difficulty in cross modular reporting requires us to do the majoring of our reporting from our MDS.  

**Recommendations to others considering NetForum AMS:**

I would seriously consider another platform.  The difficulty in administration and support of this platform is a key reason we are exploring other AMS/CRM options.

We utilize netFORUM Enterprise for our Association Management Platform.

Easy interface, web services, ability to customize. Clean, basic look.

Some fields and functions are hard-coded or difficult to adapt. Very minimal communications/eCommerce tools; support for discount codes/subscriptions/innovative business models.

Know your data model, what reports you will need.

**What problems is NetForum AMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping track of customers/subscribers, e-mail, purchase/subscription/membership history. Generating reports/lists of subscribers. Tracking purchase/membership history, communications, contact.

We have not explored all the modules yet, but our association intentionally selected a very robust platform.

**What do you dislike about NetForum AMS?**

Our implementation was rocky with a third party, so it may be an unfair question to reply to.  We have found that bugs and updates are slow to correct problems we have identified, and tickets can stay open for months.

**Recommendations to others considering NetForum AMS:**

Understand the ongoing costs, the implementation/customization requirements, and evaluate how close to baseline you can stay.

membership database, foundation donations and pledges, exhibitor and sponsorship ecommerce, SSO with a number of other platforms

**What do you like best about NetForum AMS?**

The best part about netForum is it's flexibility.  The product allows the customer to customize the software to fit their needs.  You can easily add custom fields, forms, etc. without any programming knowledge.

**What do you dislike about NetForum AMS?**

Since the product was purchased by Abila, the product and customer service have greatly diminished.

**Recommendations to others considering NetForum AMS:**

While the base software is great, every new upgrade is a total nightmare introducing new issues which never seem to get fixed.  Support is truly horrible, which is sad because prior to Abila, support was awesome.

**What problems is NetForum AMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

netForum allows us to manage all of our Association's needs - CRM, Membership, Events, Inventory and Accounting in one place.

Easily accessible to our database of hundreds of thousands of individual member records, as well as surveys, committees, accounting and transactions and more!

**What do you dislike about NetForum AMS?**

Lots of upgrades and service paks, sometimes their customer service is slow to respond / fix our issues.

**What problems is NetForum AMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CRM, database management. It's accessible to all 95 staff members.

I like that netFORUM offers robust  customization and fields as a donor database and is relatively easy to use. 

**What do you dislike about NetForum AMS?**

netFORUM integrates with very little software and requires constant updating to utilize versions that have some flexibility with integration. Additionally overall netForum is a bit outdated as donor database software.

**Recommendations to others considering NetForum AMS:**

Consider your future needs and if you can grow as an organisation using this software. 

**What problems is NetForum AMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We utilized netFORUM as our donor database and we hoped it would also serve as a social CRM for interactions with donors, but it cannot function or integrate with many other software

Clunky. It often takes several pages to retrieve data needed.

I would personally recommend spending a little more money for more quality and ease of use.

I find that Abila is easy to use - especially when it comes to membership tracking.

I don't think that the "Events" module of Abila is easy to use

Some forms get buried. Very robust feature set so some basics can get lost for infrequent users.

I like the report module and regular offerings of training.

I dislike the forced update password option.

Write out your big list of ideas that you want for the organization. Then decide on the modules you will need and the data points you want to capture. It is much easier if you do the work on the front end.
