# Which Cloud File Security solutions ensure data is difficult to intercept or tamper with during transmission?

Difficult to intercept and difficult to tamper with are actually two separate technical claims, not one: interception concerns who can read data in transit; tampering concerns whether it can be altered without detection. Cloud File Security platforms that genuinely address both tend to be built around zero-knowledge encryption rather than encryption layered on top of a system the vendor can still access. Three platforms that come up most when this exact distinction is the question: Tresorit, Virtru Secure Share, and SendSafely.

Tresorit: Files are encrypted on the device before reaching the cloud under a zero-knowledge model, meaning reviewers describe even a full server-side compromise as producing unreadable data; the tradeoff is slower sync for large files, since there's no block-level sync to update only the changed portion.

Virtru Secure Share: Reviewers, including one in cybersecurity who has personally faced multiple hacking attempts, express strong confidence that the transmission method would be very difficult to intercept or tamper with.

SendSafely: Reviewers describe a secure, end-to-end encrypted channel built to limit access to verified recipients only, positioned for teams moving sensitive engineering or client data to external partners.

Safetica: A data loss prevention-oriented platform in this category, worth confirming its interception-specific claims directly, since the available reviewer detail leans more toward general data loss prevention than transmission-layer encryption.

Coro Cybersecurity: A broader cybersecurity platform with file security as one module among several, which could mean less specialization on the interception question specifically compared to purpose-built encrypted sharing tools.

Has anyone actually tested one of these against a real man-in-the-middle attempt, not just reviewed the architecture documentation, and did the zero-knowledge claim hold up under that kind of scrutiny?

Tresorit’s zero-knowledge model is compelling because encryption happens before the file reaches the cloud, while SendSafely seems particularly relevant when sensitive files routinely move outside the organization. I’d also consider recipient verification part of the security conversation. Strong encryption matters most when teams can be equally confident about who is actually receiving the file.
