Quid takes complicated data and makes it consumable, I love that! These visualizations are amazing and so insightful — I can spot trends and patterns at a glance, where previous data wrangling would take hours of scrolling and plotting. It saves a lot of time and it streamlines decision-making.

**What do you dislike about Quid?**

What really makes Quid sing is how it integrates data from different sources and distills that into insights that matter right now. It has been extremely useful with for competitive analysis and understanding market trends. It impressively connects the dots of seemingly unrelated data which has assisted us to formulate analytics.

**What problems is Quid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Quid system helps tackle the problem associated with analysing large amounts of unstructured data from diverse origins. It organizes and visualizes this information, enabling you to identify patterns, trends, and insights that would otherwise be overlooked. This has enabled us to make much better decisions, saved us tons of hours on research and allowed us to better understand our market and competitors. **What do you like best about Quid?**

It will help to analyse and keep a track of reports from regulatory bodies, aiding us to study their impact on internal policies. Even for client contracts where we deal with lenghty documents, details related to the key clauses, terms and quotations can be fetched easily. Morever, the ability of Quid to analyze patterns will help us a lot in audit and fraud detection.

**What do you dislike about Quid?**

For the team member, it might be difficult to implement and get a hands on the tool quickly. I think, robust and tailored training programs need to be planned. Also, the security of internal data is something which we look for,

The area where might be of most help to us is identifying unusual patterns/relationships indicating fraud or inefficiences. This will eliminate the need to keep a manual check on these activities, thereby also saving time/

Quid saves time by automating data analysis tasks that would take much longer to complete manually. In short, I really enjoy Quid because of its advanced visualizations and user-friendly interface.

For me, in the beginning, it was a really steep learning curve coupled with data preparation requirements and, of course, cost

We can analyse student feedback by using this tool. Additionally, it could aid in curriculum development and research and publication activities. It could even improve alumni engagement. (which in turn aid us in fundraising)

For smaller educational institutions, like our college, Quid's pricing model could be a barrier.

We collect thousands of student surveys and it is difficult to analyse it manually. Quid can processes it using AI and identify insightful trends and patterns which otherwise could have remained unnoticed.

Hard to say what one thing is best, as it's become an integral piece of the way our agency operates. From business pitches to show the level of insights and research we can bring, to the use for campaign and content strategy, and the level of support we receive when needed - it's all great.

I think some of the visualizations could stand an upgrade, but it sounds like that is already in the works!

**Recommendations to others considering Quid:**

Super helpful tool, that I recommend highly. I've scheduled demos for a lot of their competitors, and even tried one for a brief period of time, but NetBase has been the best in my experience.

At a high level, we're able to tap into real conversations happening among real people - about the brands or industries that we work with. Obtaining those insights is key to our strategies.

Topic load times are often a bottleneck as tuning boolean queries takes too long to ensure they are optimised and cleaned sufficiently before diving into the results.

Netbase is the foundation of my work. Without it, I would not be able to handle social intelligence projects effectively due to how complicated data collection is.

Netbase makes it very easy to setup high frequency of queries due to GUI boolean setup and the topic tuner helps in setting up clean queries without noise in the data set.

**What do you dislike about Quid?**

Setting competitor keywords works best with separate topics and i wish that was easier to do in single topic query. The integration with quid could be optimized better to pair with social listening data. The channel analytics could also be better integrated for pulling social media page metrics.

Helps a lot for crisis monitoring, automated reporting and topic research and data visualisation. We use it for monitoring brand campaigns, measure social buzz, follow and identify trends for insights teams as well as keep an eye on competitors for any brand category.

**What do you like best about Quid?**

We did a thorough evaluation of platforms for measuring and monitoring earned media across social and traditional media channels.  Netbase checked all the boxes and provided all the core metrics along with a key area which entailed comparison of brands/products against features and buying criteria.  The matrix reports are great, and we can swap different metrics in and out of the matrix along with how we'd like them to be compared across the two dimensions.  Sentiment and emotional metrics are really great and were spot on when we checked the actual social and news content (something I encourage everyone to do).  Sentiment was granular enough to show where the brand was rated versus other topics mentioned in a post or article.  Again, sentiment and emotion need to be linked back to the target topic and not just the overall post.

We're still building out our dashboards and these appear flexible and thorough, i.e. nothing really missing.  I really like that I can clone a dashboard and them modify the primary diver, i.e. a a competing brand, geo region, time period, etc. and all my dashboard work just carries through with the new topic lens.  For example, I can create a super dialed-in view for our core product, and then create another one for a totally different product or sub-brand (if it's been defined as a topic).

We create some broad topics so we could expand our tracking of other sub-topics within it without having to expand our subscription (to additional topics).  Netbase has been quite flexible versus other platforms which worry excessively about topics which are too broad and allow the user to circumvent media volumes thresholds.

There's extensive drill-down capabilities on almost every metric/dashboard element, so if you want to view the specific post/article and identity of the author, it's all there.  We're expanding our dashboards to create some cool influencer tracking views.

**What do you dislike about Quid?**

With all that power comes some setup challenges.  Fortunately, Netbase provided enough onboarding sessions where we could define our topics, themes and influencers.  They did most of the topic definition work which was amazing given the vagueness of some of our competing brand naming conventions.  We opted to handle all the theme definitions and save our Netbase service ours for more in-depth metric/dashboard advisory services.  

The only thing missing is the ability to create aggregate "scores" that roll-up and weight different metrics.  I guess you could do this through the API, but we're happy staying on the platform at this time.  

No issues with content cadence, and historical views provide some nice flexibility so we can define our own time periods, i.e. we're on a strange mid-calendar fiscal year, so quarterly naming can accommodate our company's fiscal year end.

We don't license premium news content, but it's available at an extra cost.  Ideallly, I'd like it in the base platform since we miss coverage across large circulation paid-media providers today.

**Recommendations to others considering Quid:**

Really know what you want to monitor and track before hitting go.  You want to optimize your use of the platform versus cycling through topic ideation.  Otherwise, segment your stakeholders so you can leverage dashboard development and deployment across as many staff as possible with very little resource deployment.  

Decide whether premium news content is a must have, or a nice to have.  It can be expensive, but might make/break your cred with users if/when you miss content they're already seeing through paid subscriptions.  It really comes down to whether your end-customers are seeing the content, but just internal staff.

**What problems is Quid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Competitive media monitoring and measurement.  The PR team uses another platform for social (sprinklr) and news monitoring (Cision).  The later is way to under-powered for our needs and Sprinklr is pivoting all over the place and can't decide what market they want to address.

We're likely to push Netbase to replace both of them after we have the dashboards dialed-in.  Cost is about equivalent to the combined tools vs. Netbase.

The ability to semantically cluster and visualize companies in a given area helps understand the landscape from a high level in a time-efficient manner. You are not limited by the availability of curated market maps; hence, can use Quid to analyze any sector/industry no matter how general or niche it might be. The UI for Quid is very intuitive, the visualizations are powerful, and there are frequent product updates based on user feedback.

**What do you dislike about Quid?**

Specifically for Quid, there is room for improvement in the companies/startups data set. There are some issues with the integration of Cap IQ and Crunchbase datasets into one dataset; however, the product team has been working on resolving these issues.

Top marks for usability. Very easy to set up topics and sample feeds to get the right data. Love the dashboard functionality too and have used it to build customized reporting for clients. I am a heavy user of the Quid network vizualization and moving between platforms use to be an issue earlier but is seamless now. very powerful to build and visualize a story with social and other data types.

**What do you dislike about Quid?**

Sometimes it feels like the product focus is completely on the Netbase product, which is a bit disappointing for heavy Quid users. The data limits for the Quid visualization tool have remained unchanged for a while where social/media & companies data in the last few years has exploded. Makes it difficult to structure widescale analyses on Quid. Modification of Netbase topics and iterating on the analysis once set up can be a little time consuming.

I use NBQ mainly for competitive intelligence, technology landscaping, investments and consumer sentiment and other questions related to innovation & growth strategy

Ability to gather insights from any structured dataset or unstructured data sets. We use a combination of Netbase Quid visuals and PowerPoint to generate relevant insights.

There are gaps in company data information that can be rectified. New data sources should be added. Sentiment scoring method can be more robust. Scientific article analysis offering should be explored.

The tool enabled me to understand trends and identify brand sentiment which allowed me to analyze keywords and topics at a rapid rate.

I wish there was a way to view historically posted data as it's impossible to go back in time to look at historical data that has been deleted.

Netbase Quid's company analysis brings millions of companies together, organizes them, and aggregates their data. Because the dataset includes large and small companies, NBQ enables you to really understand what's going on in an industry, technology, or customer segment.

While it's great that Netbase Quid brings together multiple datasets, there are sometimes duplicates between them, which can cause a lot of confusion. Additionally, there can be gaps in the data, requiring additional searches.

I use Netbase Quid often to map industries and identify leading start-ups. It's great to be able to start with a space or topic and in a short while have a really granular map of the space.

Ease of use with the platform is great, between analysts and strategists it is easy to share insights amongst one another in addition to enabling the less data-savvy to dive headfirst into the platform and the data.

Netbase's filter feature allows us to get to the root of the insight quickly and efficiently while enabling my team to learn more about the consumer with the demographics provided. Quid helps me sift through the abundance of information, including news, blogs, product reviews, online forums, company websites, investment resesarch, market reports, patent databases and academic papers. It takes care the routine and tedious tasks of content curation, surfaces trends and insights, and provides comprehensive and pertinent results for analysis. Based on about a dozen studies that I have conducted using Quid, the tool saves about 50% of my research time on average.

**What do you dislike about Quid?**

Quid's comprehensive capabilities and tool set was a little overwhelming to me initially. It also took some time before I was able to craft good searches, which were necessary for Quid to identify the right content for analysis. Thankfully, Quid's support team was very responsive and helpful. I was able to learn Quid gradually on demand.

**What problems is Quid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have applied Quid to studying industrial landscapes, gathering solutions to given problems, identifying technology competitors, visualizing investment information as well as searching for news articles on specific topics. Across these studies, Quid curated pertinent content and allowed me to develop more comprehensive analysis at a larger scale, all while substantially reducing the amount of research time needed. It is also a plus that Quid is delivered as a web app. I did some of my Quid work on a low-end Chromebook without issues.

Easy, super intuitive tool. Can be used for a wide variety of highly relevant and business critical use cases ranging from campaign/brand health monitoring, reputation management/crisis communication (messaging strategy), identification of brand ambassadors, etc. To me, NetBase Quid has been an eye-opener that I use on a regular basis in my role as strategic planner and it should be an ear-opener for all major companies that take customer centricity seriously - and actually want to listen to their customers and other stakeholders.

The tool works best on English speaking markets. It is a bit more difficult and time-consuming to finetune the tool for foreign languages.

Most of our clients have a very strong Business Intelligence setup, but lack a deeper understanding of how their customers perceive them and their products - and crucially how the customers talk about them online (both the good and the bad conversations). The main benefit of Quid and why we chose it above other providers was because its NLP algorithm truly goes after content and not just keywords so even if you upload long texts and reviews, it can quite precisely summarize the main message. Other points are: 

- visualization networks are easy to understand, well structured, and visually pleasing
- filtering based on a variety of metrics, including mentions, company name, location, date, etc. 
- many automated processes to make your analysis quick
- offers a bright variety of sources that are unique

- export function could be more versatile
- for very long and complex text, the algorithm struggles a bit to assign the true content but they are consistently improving their algorithm

I've found the Quid account reps to be extremely responsive to our suggestions for product enhancements, and they've put us in touch directly with the tech team many (!) times to walk through our questions in great detail.

Slow product upgrade cycle, at least within the core NLP engine, and a limited API.

The visualizations and customization capabilities are very powerful. Quid allows users to quickly map and explore earned media conversations in ways far beyond other tools in the market. Quid offers users a lot of flexibility in how they visualize the data making it easy to drive to important insights.

We particularly like the tagging function which allows us to search for certain subtopics within the larger conversation and then build visualizations around those specific areas as well. 

We find the export to powerpoint capabilities very helpful as well because they allow us to quickly and easily pull visualizations for external presentations.

**What do you dislike about Quid?**

Quid has some limitations in terms of Boolean Operators and search filtering that can make it challenging to develop really robust queries. Unlike typical earned media monitoring tools, you can't set clearly defined parameters like requiring a keyword to appear a certain amount of times or within a set number of words from the start of the article. Quid can also pull in a lot of noise like financial reports and press releases that are not usually relevant to our  analyses, but we can typically clean up the data very easily during the analysis portion.

Earned media analyses typically take a tremendous amount of time and manual effort. Quid allows us to quickly and accurately understand the earned media landscape around a particular topic or brand of interest. It also allows us to unlock insights we typically wouldn't have easy access to by visualizing the data in new and interesting ways.

No undo feature. It can still be quite inaccurate or random. You have to do a lot of jimmying of results to get it say what you think it should be saying.

What I most like about Netbase Quid is the possibilities the platform give to it users, making it easier to create analysis and generate insights for a business. Being able to upload custom consumer verbatims quickly using the custom data upload tool.  The upload process only takes a minute or so and organizes the clusters incredibly fast.  This saves me a lot of time in my role.  The research/trends tool also provides a lot of great insights on what larger online communities care about and are interested in  as it relates to a specific market or product category.

Restrictions on the number of data points a user is able to upload using the custom data upload tool.  Would love to expand into the 50,000 data points capability range.

On our team, we try and understand what consumers are saying directly to our brands.  We try to gain both very high level and super specific understandings by organizing verbatims by the following 4 categories: questions, suggestions, praises, and complaints.  Sifting through manually and reading individual verbatims would be extremely time-consuming--especially when we are working with ~10,000 data points.
