Neo is built for efficient practice management, giving you the tools to manage your business, stay on top of daily operations, and do it all with ease – so the focus is always on your patients. ## Neo Software Reviews ### 1. Neo has been a great decision for us! **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Dave A. | Business Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2020 **What do you like best about Neo Software?** Very easy to use, very easy to learn, staff love it. Flexible, allows for user defined fields. Regular updates with additional functionality, not just corrections. The support staff is world class! Friendly, knowledgeable and always available. **What do you dislike about Neo Software?** Reporting was more limited, but now is expanding. At first we had to have 3rd party Boarding solution, but now that is built in. At first we paid for SMS messages, but now that is built in. I don't really have anything I dislike about it. **Recommendations to others considering Neo Software:** Get a demo, then get access to a trial, see how easy it is to set up. See how easy it is to learn how to do anything by accessing the "Help Me" tab in the bottom right corner. You'll be sold like we were. Ask other vendors what features they have added to their software for no addition fee over the past two years. I doubt you'll find many. Neo has added good reporting, good A/R tracking, GREAT boarding and are currently working on integrated SMS. They also listen to users about feature function. **What problems is Neo Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** Quick checkout for clients. Easy access to records and information, vitals and Rx's for medical team staff. We are more efficient than before, we process patients through the hospital more quickly. The auto interface of x-rays and lab results saves time and helps us avoid missed charges. Text messaging allows us to be proactive in messaging clients as well as following up on missed services that are needed by their pets. ### 2. If they can fill out a form to shop online they can be taught to use the software its literally that easy for onboarding. **What do you dislike about Neo Software?** The back end of things with book keeping and reminders and inventory has a lot of bugs and we have lost a lot of product tracking, reminder options, and ease of access when switching to Neo from our previous provider. There is also a bit of a communication gap when they go to do a new update. Changes are made with out consulting with clinics or pre-warning clinics of upcoming changes that may change how you have to change the flow of things within the clinic which results in a surprise that morning once the update has taken place. These things are improving as they grow however. **Recommendations to others considering Neo Software:** Take your time with the transferring of information, ask plenty of questions to know what features you will gain or lose from the conversion because once the conversion is complete then trying to back track to fix what you weren't expecting to change is a huge challenge. The growing pains take a little getting used to but the transition is definitely worth the effort. The speed you gain in the flow through out the clinic is wonderful and the time you save in training during onboarding is unmatched by any other software. **What problems is Neo Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** Neo is wonderful to be paperless and allows a smooth flow between check in and examination and examination to check out. We have lots of little requests placed with neo for things to run smoother in our clinic but Neo is good to hear our concerns and find loop holes or implement changes to improve those issues. ### 3. Another factor is ease of use. The software is designed so that one records are plainly available and editable. No more going to multiple screens to input data as with some other PMS programs. **What do you dislike about Neo Software?** Inventory management. The software tracks amounts but lacks the ability to track by lot number or to alert manager if medication lot is near expiration. I am however, confident that this is being addressed by the development team. **What problems is Neo Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** We reach out to support about once every two weeks on a unique issue. Sometimes those issues are not related directly to Neo but the interaction between Neo and other software. The support team is always patient and professional and will work with us to address the issue. We also worked closely with the development team in integrating a portal with Antech for Laboratory results which has been a huge benefit to our practice and clients. There have been many benefits from using Neo in our practice. The biggest is being able to very quickly serve clients from anywhere from a mobile device. My practice is house call based and the ability to have instant access to records has been invaluable to us. Another outstanding enhancement for us has been Scheduling. The interface allows quick access to client and patient records from multiple screens. ### 4. The fact that Neo is cloud based makes it easy to access from any location. **What do you dislike about Neo Software?** I do wish Neo offered a few things such as expiration reports and better formatting of forms. **Recommendations to others considering Neo Software:** Neo is definitely moving in the right direction in regards to system improvements. There may be a few things missing but in my opinion they are worth not having for the other benefits of Neo. There is an option for a test trial which I highly recommend taking advantage of. **What problems is Neo Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are located in south Louisiana so we have seen improvement during hurricane season with being able to access our software even when power is out. ### 5. Constantly being updated and improved upon. New features being added. ### 6. It’s simplicity is elegant and its functionality is robust. **What problems is Neo Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** Getting rid of our expensive server base Intranet. I do not remember any features that I liked about it unfortunately. We switched to it shortly after it came out because it was a cloud based system, however that ended up being the only feature that worked in our favor. It was a very basic platform and may work well for smaller clinics, but did not work for ours. **What do you dislike about Neo Software?** We did not like anything about this program. When we used it, it was not able to do the majority of the things we needed it to. The platform was very new and was way too basic for our progressive clinic. Previously we had Avimark for 10+ years. That program was great, but was not cloud based at the time. We tried Neo for ~6 months. IT was a drastic step backwards for us so we then switched to another program that we still use today. Neo may have updated many of its features by now. **Recommendations to others considering Neo Software:** I do not know how they have changed over the past 3-4 years. I would assume they have made updates. **What problems is Neo Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were not able to solve any problems with Neo. It was not a good fit for us. ### 8. I like that all data is stored online in the cloud so there is cost savings not having to use information technology outsourcing as much. **What do you dislike about Neo Software?** When adding third party data and applications to the system, it can be cumbersome at times, for example integrating new templates or forms from MS Word. **Recommendations to others considering Neo Software:** I would highly recommend this solution based on the ease of use and ease of installation and implementation. Extremely intuitive design. Love the cloud based system to save critical client data. Outstanding value for the price. It's a much less expensive option than the previous server based system. **What problems is Neo Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** IDEXX Neo is a more holistic solution where we can handle accounting (billing, invoices, etc.), appointment scheduling, as well as many other vital functions like marketing to existing clients. ### 9. Meaning that there is unlimited amount of storage space for large instructors. **What do you dislike about Neo Software?** The worst thing is because it is cloud based, it allow the hospital to be open for breaks in firewalls. The program itself is very simplified, making it easy to learn and use. **What do you dislike about Neo Software?** The software was over simplified. I can see how this program would be great for a small practice with one doctor and limited staff, but for a busy practice, it created more problems than it was worth. One of the worst features was that only one person could enter information in a consultation at one time. This wouldn't be as big of an issue if the program only allowed one person into the consultation at a time. Instead, multiple people can get into the consultation, but only one person's entries are saved, completely erasing the other's without warning. The inventory system is a mess. It is nearly impossible to truly track products coming into and out of the building. Once again, this is more difficult on a busier practice that has a lot of inventory. There is no payment system integrated with the software, meaning that payment must be taken with a separate program, leaving room for errors when entering payment. **Recommendations to others considering Neo Software:** I would recommend NEO to a small veterinary practice. If you are a larger, multi-doctor practice, then this product may cause more frustration than it is worth. After a little over 1 year of use, we have decided to use a different software that better suits a busier practice. **What problems is Neo Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** NEO provides the benefit of being Cloud based, meaning that it can be accessed by any device with internet, WiFi, or data plan. ### 16.
