It would be great to have presets and color combinations based on themes like warm, cool, vintage, etc., so you can have a matchy color set from the start. There's also an issue with formatting; sometimes when I copy and paste a diagram I just built from one side to the other, I lose all the formatting. I love the templates that I can use in Miro because they are easy to use and interact with, which speeds up my thinking about work rather than spending time designing brainstorming sessions. The ability to integrate my Jira instances with Miro and bring work in progress into brainstorming sessions is super helpful. I also appreciate the embedded Google Sheets and slides or other links to scattered work in progress, as Miro brings everything together regardless of where it's located, saving me time looking for things. My biggest challenge isn’t the tool itself; it’s what happens after the workshop. Miro ends up being yet another place where important information lives. Between Google Drive, Dropbox, Notion, Figma, email, and local files, I often struggle to remember where a specific piece of work ultimately ended up. That’s more of a personal knowledge and file-management issue than a Miro issue, but it still affects how confidently I can adopt the tool for longer-term work and follow-through. "Daily Architecture Workhorse with Great Integrations" 5/5 What do you like best about Miro? Honestly, Miro's become part of my daily toolkit as a cloud architect — I'm in it constantly mapping out system architecture and specs that end up shared across half the company. The canvas itself is great — going from a messy whiteboard sketch to something presentable is easy, and frames keep big diagrams from turning into spaghetti. Where it struggles is really large diagrams (100+ nodes, lots of icons) — panning gets a bit sluggish and real-time collab with a few people editing at once can lag. Integrations are honestly a highlight — Jira, Slack, etc sets mean I rarely have to leave the board to keep things connected to actual tickets and docs. It's genuinely your source of truth for architecture, it pays for itself by replacing three or four other tools and killing the "which version is current" problem. Onboarding is basically nonexistent because the UI is intuitive enough that people I share boards with just figure it out. Support has been fine, nothing amazing. AI features are a nice bonus but not core to my workflow yet — good for a rough first draft, not precise enough for real architecture work. Biggest gripe is diagram density — once a board gets busy (which happens fast with real architecture work), connectors start crossing and overlapping and there's no smart auto-routing to clean it up. I end up manually untangling lines just to keep things readable, which is time I shouldn't have to spend. Performance is the weak spot for exactly the boards where it matters most — big, icon-heavy architecture diagrams get sluggish to pan and zoom, especially with a few people editing at once. Some kind of simplified rendering when zoomed out would help a lot. A lot of stuff that should be table stakes (better permissions, deeper integrations, admin controls) is locked behind a pretty steep jump to Business/Enterprise. Rough sell when the tier with what I need is priced like it's for a 500-person org. Onboarding for basic stuff is easy since the UI is intuitive, but there's not much real guidance for advanced use — like how to structure boards for a big team or keep things maintainable long-term. Before Miro, specs and architecture diagrams lived scattered across different tools — some in Visio, some in Confluence pages, some just in slide decks that went stale the moment a design changed. Anytime I needed to walk a team through a system, I was stitching together context from three or four places, and half the time people were looking at outdated versions. Now everything lives on one board that's actually kept current — the UI makes it fast enough to update diagrams in real time during a design review instead of "I'll send an updated version later." That alone has cut down a ton of back-and-forth: instead of a week of async email threads clarifying a diagram, I can walk stakeholders through it live and resolve questions on the spot. Sharing is also just easier — one link, and whether it's an engineer, a PM, or someone in leadership, they can view or comment without needing an account or a walkthrough on how the tool works. The integrations with Jira and Confluence help tie diagrams back to actual work items, so specs don't live in total isolation from execution — though as I mentioned, that link is more "point in time" than live, so I still have to double check things haven't drifted. Performance-wise, for normal-sized boards this is all smooth, so the day-to-day win holds up fine. It's really only the huge, sprawling diagrams where I feel friction, and that's a smaller slice of my work. I won't pretend it's cheap, but weighed against what I used to pay for separate diagramming and whiteboarding tools plus the time lost keeping multiple docs in sync, it nets out ahead. Consolidating into one tool that's actually used daily is worth more than the sticker price suggests. Support and onboarding didn't really factor into the "problem solved" side much — the tool is intuitive enough that adoption across teams happened pretty organically, no formal training needed. Most of my boards and notes are in Portuguese, so I write my AI prompts in Portuguese as well. However, the AI often generates the final document or summary in English. This creates extra work because I have to ask the AI to translate everything back into Portuguese before I can share it with my team. It analyzes interview notes with great accuracy, identifies patterns, and can even extract the user’s journey from the information. Things I like about MIRO, when the work is messy, highly collaborative, and hard to capture in a slide deck or a Word document - example, multiple people can work together on an ideation (e.g., a system workflow) on a meeting together with no need to track changes. It’s helpful when you need to get people aligned around a process, risk, decision — when different people interpret the same topic in different ways, can't imagine holding a workshop without using Miro. For me, the real benefit is being able to move from rough thinking to a more structured output in the same space — use of various tools in one space instead of opening multiple files, like sticky notes, process diagrams, voting, comments, tables, screenshots, etc. can all live together on one board. It does not require a lot of training to use, it is easy to get started and intuitive, regardless of the seniority of the employee. It has got innovative real time integrations with slack, tables, JIRA, etc. that make the information relevant on the page. What do you dislike about Miro? Nothing really. I believe there is a dependency on internet to be able to work, which means I can't use in on an airplane or train if the connection isn't good. Additionally, it is not designed to version control - i.e., the information is typically overwritten without the audit trail, our work around to manage that is we create duplicate Miro boards as a make shift solution. It makes the white boarding and bringing ideas to life experience work really well in hybrid environments (when all employees are not physically present in one room). For a set up where all employees are not in the same room and people are from various cultures, things don't get lost in translation. 2. I have stopped using the PPT or slides with MIRO, as it is extremely easy to draft ideas and present to stakeholders with minimal inputs, with creative templates and AI suggested notes. 3. Live integrations keep it real to use of live data (through JIRA, tables, etc.) within MIRO. Some table information can also be translated into pie chart or kanban or timeline view with zero manual effort. 4. Before using Miro, design discussions, markups, schedules, and action items were often spread across emails, meetings, PDFs, and multiple software platforms. Miro brings those conversations into a single collaborative workspace where everyone can see the same information and contribute in real time. The biggest benefit for us is improved communication and decision-making. We use Miro for design coordination, QA/QC reviews, owner presentations, brainstorming, and live project scheduling. Team members can react immediately, propose changes, resolve issues faster, and maintain visibility into project status without waiting for the next meeting. Miro is amazing for collaboration, great with workshops, and the syncing tool is also great. The templates are really helpful, the way that you can host meetings and update work together as well as running tasks and challenged it's great. Great for doing UX flows to understand user journeys and visualise user behaviours and mindsets. I think the support is great, and the updates via email are helpful. It is also helping me host design thinking workshops with UX/UI and Engineering peers. It's helping me collate data. And also helps to visualise my work in a way that peers outside of design can understand better. Previous to me using this, I was using a lot of Microsoft software for collaborative work and honestly it was inefficient, and not engaging. The tool has helped me to perform better at work, with less effort. The AI tool is fast and in general even the biggest heaviest Miro boards are still ok in terms of speed and and feedback.
