What do you like best about Melius?
Melius gets a lot right at once.
The canvas is very fast to learn because the basic approach is simple: nodes, wiring, mentions, groups and direct model controls. You can get moving almost immediately, but there is enough depth for serious production workflows.
The model catalogue is one of the biggest strengths. New models tend to show up extremely quickly, often the same day they are released and sometimes within hours. I’ve been using things like GPT Image 2.5 including xhigh/max quality, Seedance 2.5, H3 Max and its camera-control variants, Wan 3.0 and Kling 3 Pro without having to wait for long integration cycles.
Mel, the native agent, is becoming increasingly useful. It can work directly on the canvas, use programmable Skills and image context, and feels much more like a creative copilot than a generic chatbot.
The MCP implementation is also first-class. Being able to operate the canvas from external agents opens up genuinely interesting orchestration workflows.
I also really value how complete the canvas tooling is. Beyond generation you have masking, compositing, annotation, cropping, frame extraction, inpainting, upscaling and restoration tools such as SeedVR and Topaz integrations. These are implemented simply rather than turning every operation into another complicated interface.
Reliability is second to none in my experience. I can work quickly for long sessions with extremely few failures.
The other thing worth mentioning is development velocity. The team listens closely to actual production feedback and ships improvements remarkably quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What do you dislike about Melius?
The main missing piece for me is a stronger persistent DAM / asset-management layer for reusable things like characters, outfits and environments.
The existing asset organisation is useful, but as projects grow I would like a more structured way to preserve and reuse approved creative assets across projects.
That said, this feels more like a maturing part of the product than a fundamental limitation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
