## About Shield
Shield is Mailprotector's zero trust cloud email security product for MSPs that protect Microsoft 365 environments. Its patented architecture combines secure email gateway and API-based mailbox protection as one system that shares context between the edge and the inbox. What Shield learns at the gateway shapes how the message is handled in Microsoft 365, while activity in the mailbox sharpens what Shield does with future messages before delivery. This gives MSPs continuous control across the email lifecycle. Shield gives MSPs gateway enforcement with the deployment simplicity of an API product. It leaves a client's MX, SPF, and DKIM records unchanged, removing DNS work and mail-flow disruption from the equation. Most email filters begin by trusting senders and then try to identify malicious messages. Shield begins with no assumed trust. It builds an initial trust network for each user from existing contacts and communication history. New senders remain outside that network until the user makes a one-click trust or silence decision. Shield learns from every action and gets smarter over time. Key capabilities include: The Heads-Up Display adds color-coded security signals to each message and updates them as risk or trust levels change. X-ray provides a fully isolated message view that explains security findings in plain English, previews link destinations, and records delivery and action history. Email Traffic Control is a point-and-click workflow builder for inbound, outbound, and post-delivery actions. Templates and intelligent data detectors support critical use cases including data loss prevention (DLP), trusted-sender handling and account takeover protection (ATO). Bundler groups lower-priority email in a separate space, sends reminders on a user-defined schedule, and provides AI-generated email summaries in an optimized reader view. Lockbox protects sensitive message content inside the mailbox by replacing the body with an image placeholder that requires MFA to unlock. Shield is built for two connected experiences. MSP technicians control a message's path from edge-to-inbox in one system. Users get clear security information and simple choices inside the inbox.

**What do you like best about Shield?**

I like how Shield helps to knock down the volume of malicious and spam email quickly, and it has a good facility for allowing users to easily categorize inbound mail. The automated method involving the junk email box is very simple to use. The automatic notification of new emails that are uncategorized is very valuable, catching new subscription confirmation emails, new threats, and spam, allowing them to be either dismissed or whitelisted. The Spotlight feature is really useful for locating emails effectively within the folder structure, and I also find Shield to be very intuitive and straightforward, presenting clearly what it's doing. Additionally, it was relatively painless to set up, and I greatly appreciate its reliable integration with Microsoft 365, which was a compelling reason for switching from MailProtector.

**What do you dislike about Shield?**

Using Shield was a bit of a challenge when it came to organizing my email rules. Before Shield, I was managing email with my own set of rules, and incorporating them with the rules created by Shield took some adjusting. It's not impossible to manage, but for someone who uses rules extensively, it does present potential conflicts with the Shield rules. This was a bit challenging to overcome.

**What problems is Shield solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Shield monitors my email traffic effectively, categorizing inbound emails, and blocking malicious and spam emails. It simplifies my email management with automatic notifications and Spotlight, making it easy for me to locate or dismiss emails, reducing the time I spend on email security.

**What do you like best about Shield?**

I love the tight integration with Microsoft 365, which makes managing and supporting our clients so much easier. Users don't have to change how they interact with their emails unless they want to, thanks to Shield's adaptive trust network. The heads-up display is super helpful because it lets users know what emails are safe right from their browser. For us as an MSP, deploying Shield is a breeze with the step-by-step wizard, and I have complete visibility into each step, ensuring I won't disrupt a client's email flow. 95% of our clients are on Microsoft 365, so having Shield integrate directly is a huge win. The deployment wizard walks us through the setup without needing an MX record change, which is incredibly easy and efficient.

**What do you dislike about Shield?**

Not something I dislike - just a byproduct of rapid development and feature cycles...things are changing (always for the better). It just means that we have to update our client documentation and training. I love the rapid release cycles.

**What problems is Shield solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Shield to tackle spam and phishing emails, which Microsoft's policies can’t handle well. It boosts email productivity and keeps interruptions down. We benefit from Shield's integration with Microsoft 365, streamlining user management and allowing secure email interactions without disrupting flow.
