It is a catastrophic drain on resources, acting like a blood-thirsty vampire that has nearly killed our business several times. We have been trapped in a cycle of never-ending technical problems and unreliable "security patches" that are both mandatory and ridiculously expensive. These updates frequently break existing functionality, creating a "quicksand" effect where you are constantly paying developers to fix things that shouldn't have broken in the first place. We use it for our e-commerce website, and rather than benefiting us, it has functioned as an extractive system designed to funnel our hard-earned revenue directly into the pockets of development agencies. We were originally led to Magento by "experts" who lied to us, claiming only Magento could handle our needs. In reality, they recommended it because it is the most lucrative platform for developers to maintain.
