What do you like best about Lokalize?

The price is right. Free and open source means no licensing fees, no subscription costs. Great for small companies with a limited budget. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lokalize?

Unless you run a Linux shop, the software is extremely difficult for a lay user of Windows to get going. Love KDE for personal use, but unless all your machines run KDE, this might not be the best option. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Lokalize:

Unless you are prepared the contribute to the KDE project in the open source model and have the expertise to troubleshoot and provide your own support, there are plenty of commercial software options that can be production-ready in far less time. Would not recommend for critical projects. Also be aware of its extremely limited utility. According to its own wiki page: "Lokalize is also a general computer-aided translation system (CAT) with which you can translate OpenDocument files (*.odt). Translate-Toolkit is used internally to extract text for translation from .odt to .xliff files and to merge translation back into .odt file." It will not work with Microsoft Word files. What problems is Lokalize solving and how is that benefiting you?

The interface and suggestions are very powerful also the hotkeys are very useful Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The compile of po files is missing and not support the poedit features like the scan of the new strings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
