The readers, fobs, and web interface are all very user-friendly. The equipment arrived quickly and was straightforward to install. We also have the tailgating camera package, and it has been a game changer for my fitness facility. It’s easy to use, and I love the video clips it provides. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Kisi? I really wish Kisi offered a check-in screen for my gym members. I use the readers at both my front desk and a 24-hour access door. It works great at the 24-hour door, but when I’m staffed and the main doors are open, there’s no screen that gives me a clear red/green indicator to confirm whether a client is good to enter or not. This would be a really helpful feature, but neither Kisi nor the gym software I integrate with currently provides it. The pricing feels a little high to me for the software and the tailgating integration, but it didn’t stop me from moving forward. Lastly, I have a lot of users who have issues with the app for opening the door. It’s almost always a phone-related problem, but most people struggle with the tap option, and some have trouble getting it to work regardless of their location or Bluetooth settings. I often find we have to turn people’s phones off or put them on airplane mode to reset it. That’s an inconvenience when I have members who want to get in 24 hours a day, and not all of them are tech-savvy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. It’s solving that issue for me overall, but I still have some members running into problems. It's very straightforward to add and remove users, especially with the integration with Glofox, even though it's not as full as we'd like. The tailgating software is also great and easy to use. I really like how simple and easy to use Kisi is while also keeping our community safe. It's easy for both staff and students to use, and I wish we had started using it earlier. There was only one team member, which felt frustrating because he was busy and when issues came up, it took a long time to resolve. Our reader stopped working after a month of having it, causing a lot of issues for our customers and staff to get in the building. What do you dislike about Kisi? One issue we've experienced with Kisi is the reliability of the proximity unlocking feature. On one occasion, a client was trying to gain access, but the app repeatedly displayed a message saying they were "too far away" from the reader, despite them being stood directly next to the door. If the issue is limited to a few users, we'd recommend checking that Bluetooth permissions are enabled for the Kisi app. If multiple users are affected, the first step is to reboot the reader for five minutes to clear the BLE chip, followed by testing different reader sensitivity settings. Phone app works great, no cards to remember. I love it's integration with meraki cameras for security time stamping. I love the ease of install. Im a huge fan of the design, controller and reader and how they connect separately to my network and the magic happens in the cloud. The licensing is affordable. and it works everytime we install it. What do you dislike about Kisi? the billing! we had so many issues with our PO numbers not translating to the invoice. so we have to scratch our heads and try to figure out what office site we installed a particular invoice at. NOT customer friendly. When we first started with KISI, nightmares with charging our credit card till we could get on net30 terms. We did not get good support on that. The installation was a bit tricky and time consuming for us, as we live in a small town with few tradespeople who have experience in that capacity, but once we got it running, it has been fantastic! I like that Kisi allows me to manage my members easier without using complicated manual software. It's convenient and easy because most people already have their phones, so they don't have to worry about carrying a key fob to enter the building. I also like that I can access Kisi anywhere as long as I have an Internet connection, which lets me make updates to the account even if I'm away from the facility. If a member needs to get in or if someone is servicing my gym equipment, they can call me, and I can open the door for them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Kisi? I wish there was a customer service line for paying customers to talk with a real person instead of just AI. It feels like there's no human connection since Kisi operates solely online. I don't like the setup process; it was very challenging because I didn't know how to use Zapier, so I had to hire someone to do it for me. The API is well-documented and straightforward to integrate with. We built a native integration for our gym management platform and the whole process was smooth — from API key setup to provisioning users and managing group assignments. The partnership team was also very responsive and professional throughout the onboarding process. The webhook functionality exists but isn't documented in the public API reference at api.getkisi.com, which made it harder to discover and implement. Before integrating Kisi, gym operators had to hand out key fobs or manually update access lists every time a membership changed. With Kisi's cloud-based access control and API, we automate the entire process — members get door access the moment they sign up and lose it the moment their membership ends.
