## About ITBI
ITBI™ by SMT Data is a mainframe performance and capacity management software that transforms complex mainframe data into actionable insights. It provides detailed visibility into IT resource consumption, showing who is using which resources, how much, and when, across time periods, departments, and systems. By enriching technical metrics with business context, ITBI supports mainframe cost optimization, strategic planning, and data-driven decisions across IT, finance, and sourcing teams. This enables enterprises to align infrastructure usage with financial accountability and performance goals more effectively. The platform collects and processes SMF (System Management Facility) data from z/OS mainframes in a secure, cloud-based data lake and SQL Server warehouse. This data is decoded, enriched with organizational context, and structured into OLAP-style Data Cubes for in-depth analysis and reporting. ITBI includes over 500 standard reports developed through decades of collaboration with enterprise users. These cover a broad range of mainframe infrastructure, usage, and performance topics, enabling both rapid onboarding and long-term operational insight. **What do you like best about ITBI?**

ITBI provides unparalleled apportionment capabilities which make the task of targetting performance tuning and consumption reduction very simple. There are a huge number of canned reports as well as the ability to write user defined reports.

**What do you dislike about ITBI?**

There is very little to dislike about ITBI. Whilst it maybe lacks some of the deeper technical information provided by other tools in the marketplace this is more than compensated by the overall ease of use.

**Recommendations to others considering ITBI:**

If you are considering ITBI and show back / charge back is a key concern in your organization then look no further: this is where ITBI wins out. If apportionment is not a key concern then you need to weigh up the range of canned reports against those provided by competitor products. As always, it's a question of horses for courses.

**What problems is ITBI solving and how is that benefiting you?**
