We used Navisite for our Hosted Public DNS services

**What do you like best about Navisite Services?**

They are very responsive. Most request are done within a few hours, and no longer than 24 hours.

**What do you dislike about Navisite Services?**

The web interface could be more interactive and informative when managing our account. It would be nice to see what domains we have hosted. They do provide this information when requested.

**Recommendations to others considering Navisite Services:**

Getting setup is quick and easy. Getting changes done is typically very fast and I have never had any issues with their services. Again I do wish there was a little more visibility to our DNS zones.

**What problems is Navisite Services solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were trying to get out of the business of hosting and maintaining our own in house public DNS servers. The services offered by Navisite allowed us to move that service to a cloud provider reducing the on-prem footprint we have and need to manage our own infrastructure.

It is difficult to find fault with Navsite, overall interaction was good ,but again they need to be more proactive and should be able to handle the changing scenarios

They help with the monitoring and maintenance of our SQL and other database servers as well as offer us cloud hosting services for a large portion of our server infrastructure.

**What do you like best about Navisite Services?**

They have a knowledgeable staff who is available 24/7/365 to assist with issues in the cloud or on-premises with our database servers and their cloud hosting is a pretty sweet deal.  Being hosted on VMware it is pretty robust and they have a custom interface allowing you to interact with the VM's and manage elements of the network environment as well on your own.  They assist in bringing in more complex VM imports and the like happily and are always willing to lend a hand and pitch in to assist with the environment.

**What do you dislike about Navisite Services?**

Sometimes their sense of urgency is not the same as mine on some of the support tickets. At times I feel that a ticket should have a higher priority than it is receiving with them.  This is usually remidied by a call to our account manager in the cases where it is extreme.

**What problems is Navisite Services solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are Lowering our overall cost of doing business.  We have DBA's available to us who are familiar with our environment 24/7/365 without hiring a DBA Department and in the cloud arena it takes what would be a reoccurring capital cost to replace servers and SAN's every few years and turning it into an opex that can be managed and is elastic based on our consumption of the resources thus allowing us to save money as we don't have to be fully deployed for peak loads at all times.  we can scale the type and number of Virtual machines and resources to meet our increasing or dwindling demand based on our season of the year and the projects we have going.

We provide customers with a SaaS solution delivery form infrastructure hosted with Navisite. As a Saas provider, we decided to host our application on our own infrastructure but host that infrastructure with a partner.

**What do you like best about Navisite Services?**

High level of service & support along with ease of access when whenever we wanted to perform maintenance. We often perform maintenance work off hours and weekends and no matter when we needed access to our equipment, there was never an issue. The people were also great to work with from the security guards right to the NOC personal  with whom we worked.

**What do you dislike about Navisite Services?**

It is difficult to find fault with Navsite, we really like all aspects of our relationship.

**Recommendations to others considering Navisite Services:**

Take a facility tour and get to meet the staff who will be working with you on your program.

**What problems is Navisite Services solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest benefit we realize is that they are basically our IT department for infrastructure allowing us to focus more on customer facing opportunities.

Navisite serves as our co-location site for many of our critical services - VDI, server and storage backup, and provides a second instance of our ERP environment. These services are rendered via a secure 10G link to our campus environment. Navisite facilities are 99.9% reliable and in the several years we've been using their services, we've never experienced and outage. Navisite's customer service has been responsive, competent, and friendly relative to setting up our environment and ongoing maintenance.

**What do you like best about Navisite Services?**

Before we decided to contract with Navisite, their engineers took the time to give us a tour of the facilities and answer the many technical questions my team asked. They were also willing to indulge our non-technical senior leadership with tours of the facilities and answered questions. My team appreciates the great customer service Navisite technicians have provided.

**What do you dislike about Navisite Services?**

The only dislike is the cost of the services. While I understand the contracted services can be expensive, during the Pandemic when businesses are facing financial challenges, Navisite's pricing models should be adjusted or discounted to reflect the challenges we face.

**What problems is Navisite Services solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Navisite provides us with a secure, reliable, and capacity-on-demand facility which essentially takes us out of the data center business. We no longer need to worry about upgrading our on-campus data center. Our campus leadership and our insurance company is pleased that we've chosen a proven partner to entrust our digital assets with.

We used NaviSite to house physical servers to be repurposed as recovery tagets in the event of a disaster; outside of those times, those systems were host to test environments for some business applications (which allowed us to have a continuous indicator of the health of our connection to the site). We also house some replication targets in our racks at Navisite for our backup stack (software & hardware both), and have some targets for mirroring important data.

**What do you like best about Navisite Services?**

Our regional networking partner offers us amazing connectivity into Navisite, and that partnership is key to making the most of our deal with Navisite. The facilities are excellent. The uptime is great. The physical location has good highway access & parking. The front desk staff are fantastic. Our account rep is always helpful.

**What do you dislike about Navisite Services?**

There's no loading dock, as far as I know, so the last time we removed gear we had to haul our servers out the front door on a dolly, a couple at a time, and hoist them into our vehicles. They offer to "smart hands" but taking advantage of that can require more time than just hopping in my car and driving the hour to the facility myself.

**Recommendations to others considering Navisite Services:**

I don't think there is anything to be wary of: Navisite has always been honest with us for the colocation services. We're happy with them as our colo provider.

**What problems is Navisite Services solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Housing our test servers there provides redundancy in case of a serious problem with our main data center. (A previous DR provider "promised" to provide hardware in the event that we declared, but a promise isn't nearly as reliable as my gear already being set up and running.) This satisfies compliance requirements, and also gives us peace of mind.

Navisite does an excellent job managing our O365 services.

When needed we can reach out to them quickly via email and expect a response within minutes. Often times if we have an issue they will propose a solution.

Any discrepancies we have can be brought up with their management teams and fixed within a reasonable time frame.

The majority of our contact with them is through email, or phone. Navisite representatives also meet with them to discuss any issues we may be having as well as potential solutions for those issues on a regular basis. They've provided administrative access for some of engineers.

Once when having an issue with a user's account there was some misconfigurations on the back end. We reached out and based off just a few responses their support team was able to diagnose and solve the issue while ensuring it was less likely to reoccur.

Our experience thus far has been excellent and we look forward to growing together.

**What do you like best about Navisite Services?**

Being able to reach out to their support team at any hour of the day and expect the majority of issues to be resolved within 24 hours. They're extremely excellent to deal with in the mornings and generally happy to help.

**What do you dislike about Navisite Services?**

Due to the size of the support navisite offers the support they provide is not as personal as it could be. You're not sure if you're speaking with a rep you've talked to before or not.

**Recommendations to others considering Navisite Services:**

Let them know your required feature set, and they'll do their best to accommodate.

**What problems is Navisite Services solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Better email management. Compared to operating our own exchange servers they're able to take over the majority of the leg work. Lessening the strain on our corporate support engineers.

I am using proofpoint mail filtering from Navisite.

**What do you like best about Navisite Services?**

It is really easy to use and appears to be doing a good job filtering out attacks.  My user love the ease of checking the logs for potential mislabeled SPAM.

**What do you dislike about Navisite Services?**

Adding a user can be a bit cumbersome.  I used to doing that myself and now I have to rely on someone else to do it for me.

**Recommendations to others considering Navisite Services:**

I have had no complaints about the product and they are always quick to respond when I need their help.

**What problems is Navisite Services solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have greatly decreased the amount of SPAM, Phishing and outright attacks.  It has really help with showing how much we are getting attacked with the monthly reports I can pull to show the ownership of the company.

Navisite helped our company migrate from an on-site Exchange 2010 server to hosted Office 365.

**What do you like best about Navisite Services?**

The assistance prior to and during the transition alleviated a lot of the apprehension that would normally come with making such a large change in an organization.

**What do you dislike about Navisite Services?**

To be completely honest, there's really nothing I can put here. Navisite met or exceeded all that they had promised during the introduction and sales meetings as well as my expectations.

**Recommendations to others considering Navisite Services:**

If you are looking to migrate to Managed IT services or Office 365 hosting, definitely take the time to speak with a Navisite representative. They are knowledgeable, helpful, cost competitive, and their level of service is unrivaled.

**What problems is Navisite Services solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a one man IT department serving and SMB, my time is limited. Managing and Exchange solution can be a full time job in and of itself. By transitioning to Office 365 with Navisite's assistance, it has allowed me to concentrate more on IT security, end user training, and disaster recovery.

We host business services across some of Navisite's DC's, this was initially our backup provider but then became our primary due to their ability and how easy they are to work with in comparison to other hosting partners who make you fit into their model.

**What do you like best about Navisite Services?**

That they listen to what you need and don't try and squeeze you into their model, this was really important to us as other partners wanted to re-architect everything so it would fit them better. 

It's also worth calling out that although they are a US company the UK are very operational, again comparing them to other providers the Navisite UK have the authority and ability to make decisions in UK hours which past providers would need to wait for the US to come on for a particular skill set or decision to be made.

**What do you dislike about Navisite Services?**

There's been a bit of a personnel change with resource allocated to our account but it's not impacted us and the core people are still as active as they were from day 1.

**What problems is Navisite Services solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Their hosting centres are some of the best we've used, this was a problem for us with past partners but these are very well managed and organised.

Navisite delivers and maintains virtually all of our IT infrastructure including our ERP, desktop environment and websites

**What do you like best about Navisite Services?**

We particularly like that Navisite takes complete ownership of our environment. It's good to have a central location for all inquires and issues with expert maintenance and advice.

**What do you dislike about Navisite Services?**

Because of the size of organization, it can be a bit time consuming finding the correct team for specific issues

**What problems is Navisite Services solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our internal IT infrastructure has been reduced to a bare minimum. We no longer maintain a full time IT staff and using Citrix as a desktop has allowed us to minimize our hardware costs.

**What do you like best about Navisite Services?**

Ability to quickly add VMs and Public IP addresses as needed. Also like the ability to create VPN between our local site and Navisite Cloud.

**What do you dislike about Navisite Services?**

Prices are a bit higher than I would like but are still low enough that we can profitably host client data there.

**What problems is Navisite Services solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem we are solving is that we cannot host client data ourselves due to up time requirements both for power and bandwidth. With Navisite this is not an issue.

Power upgrades on our database racks. We haveold systems with less power on our racks. Navisite helped with upgrading power circuits and pdu's all online without any interruption. Engineers were super helpful over all tasks during the covid pandemic they went above and beyond to make things possible for us. Awesome experience.

Exceptional customer service, their engineers reach and ease of doing business. Been thorough on concept and explained well to me all necessary changes. Really helped make us deploy servers  with short to last minute notice.

**What do you dislike about Navisite Services?**

Nothing wrong with them at all, They are absolutely best at what they do.

Just go with them! One of the, if not, best in business.

Apart from database administration, we did Agile Upgrade , implemented Mobile Approvals and have been applying security patches every two months. We have very small IT team and so ability to use Navisite team and work on the projects is a huge benefit to the company.

Navisite has been hosting VDI Platforms for years, so there are skilled people across teams to help with any issues.

**What do you dislike about Navisite Services?**

On our current 8.0 platform, there are a lot of issues that can't be fixed. The most obnoxious and time-consuming is User Profiles going to TEMP profiles.

**Recommendations to others considering Navisite Services:**

Tour their facilities. Ask a lot of questions.

**What problems is Navisite Services solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most of the problems are described in the previous question. I am hoping the benefits are that the new platform addresses these issues and works without issue (at least for a year or so).

They are always quick to respond and get things resolved within a couple of hours.  I've yet to have a bad experience with them.

I would like to manage these services myself but that is up to our head of IT not Navisite.

If you are looking to subvert your work load for the 365 environment and keep the total security of you users then you should consider Navisite.

**What do you like best about Navisite Services?**

RDX has knowledge levels for everything.  We have some older Sun equipment running an app that was custom written back in 2000 or so.  Needless to say we no longer have the application writer nor the support staff that built the systems.  The server tanked as did the storage array and RDX was able to get us to a point that the system was able to boot and eventually back to a running state.  Without RDX, our circulation system would still be dead in the water.

**What do you dislike about Navisite Services?**

Nothing, very professional and knowledgable.  Helped us with every step and checked back randomly after we were back up and running.

**What problems is Navisite Services solving and how is that benefiting you?**

RDX is assisting us with SQL monitoring and fixes, late night patching of both Windows and Linux OS for some of our systems.

**What do you like best about Navisite Services?**

Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. They monitor our systems 24/7/365 and resolve issues with limited guidance from our IT staff. They have saved our systems from crashes many times.

**What do you dislike about Navisite Services?**

Nothing. There really isn't any improvement needed by RDX.

**What problems is Navisite Services solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All of our complicated database issues. No need to have an expensive DBA on staff.
